Promise Breakers - Live at the housewarming party
Recorded 2000-04-29, this is the full set from one of our rare live shows in the basement of my newly purchased home. I never intended on posting this as the sound is useless. We were pretty loud and the tiny mic on my old VHS-C camcorder obviously couldn't deal with it. However, I'm happy to have it as we don't have much evidence that we ever existed as a band. It also includes the two cover songs that we played that weren't recorded for our album.

This is a collection of four songs that I received from Jennifer Adamson some time in the mid 80s, probably 1986 when I was 15 or 16 years old and was just discovering The Smiths, The Cure, Mighty Lemon Drops and Dead Kennedys all at once. I didn't know the name of this band or any of the song titles, but I didn't care because it was underground and I loved it so much. I knew them as "Jennifer'...

This was my very first upload to CZcams back in 2006 before they were concerned with copyright. At some point it was actually deleted. Now I'm uploading again and hoping it'll stick around. The original description: If you don't know me, Pete, Liz or Jodi then this won't be very funny. Or perhaps it will... Video produced by Pete. Song produced by me.
SQUISH - Live at the Housewarming Party
zhlédnutí 14Před rokem
Some time in 1993 when Larry, Ken, Zeke and myself moved into the Hill St. house in Albany, we decided to throw a housewarming party and play live in the living room. We played two sets, the first was our usual bass/guitar/drums configuration and the second was an industrial inspired set of songs with me and Larry on guitar accompanied by a drum machine and keyboard sequence. Ken sang on a coup...
She's A Radio - Echo No Echo (Projection)
zhlédnutí 7Před rokem
This is simply a video capture of a Winamp (I think) audio visualization. I was running out of ideas for projections. This is from the projection series of videos that were meant for the Ethos Live television show. Never intended to be viewed on its own, but rather projected onto the stage while we played live.
It's All Right - Echo No Echo (Projection)
zhlédnutí 4Před rokem
This is just a screen capture of the 3D polygon graphics game I, Robot. I was fascinated with this game when I discovered it in an arcade as a kit. I thought it might make an easy primary color projection. This is from the projection series of videos that were meant for the Ethos Live television show. Never intended to be viewed on its own, but rather projected onto the stage while we played live.
Folsom Prison Blues - Echo No Echo (Projection)
zhlédnutí 13Před rokem
A warped, solarized and colorized video clip to go along with the song. The clip is called "Come Join The Fun" which is a parody edit of "Perversion For Profit" This is from the projection series of videos that were meant for the Ethos Live television show. Never intended to be viewed on its own, but rather projected onto the stage while we played live.
Now - Echo No Echo (Projection)
Před rokem
Two circuit board line drawings converge and then separate. Epic. Because we never recorded this song the audio here is from a rehearsal, so the quality is not great. This is from the projection series of videos that were meant for the Ethos Live television show. Never intended to be viewed on its own, but rather projected onto the stage while we played live.
Excess To Dress - Echo No Echo (Projection)
zhlédnutí 8Před rokem
This was designed to be an intro projection, so it's fairly straight forward and plays with colors phasing in and out against our logo. Because we never recorded this song the audio here is from a rehearsal, so the quality is not great. This is from the projection series of videos that were meant for the Ethos Live television show. Never intended to be viewed on its own, but rather projected on...
Just A Waste Of Time - Echo No Echo (Projection)
Před rokem
I think I was running out of steam while creating these and just used all of the timing formats that Adobe Premiere had to offer. Again, in theory it would have made an interesting projection. Since we never finished recording this song it's audio is from a rehearsal. This is from the projection series of videos that were meant for the Ethos Live television show. Never intended to be viewed on ...
And Farewell - Echo No Echo (Projection)
Před rokem
Here we have two retro arcade racing games with one superimposed on top of the other: Night Driver and Speed Freak. Both are difficult to play, but (in theory) make a nice projection onto a band playing on a stage. This song is about a car that had broken down and was traded in so it seemed appropriate. This is from the projection series of videos that were meant for the Ethos Live television s...
Whether - Echo No Echo (Projection)
zhlédnutí 2Před rokem
A slightly sped up video of me playing Atari Adventure with some editing to zoom in on the more dramatic moments. This is probably my favorite. This is from the projection series of videos that were meant for the Ethos Live television show. Never intended to be viewed on its own, but rather projected onto the stage while we played live.
Fever 39th - Echo No Echo (Projection)
zhlédnutí 1Před rokem
This one was meant to be colorful and rotational. It resembles the Apples In Stereo's Tone Soul Evolution album cover. Also the work of some famous artist I presume. This is from the projection series of videos that were meant for the Ethos Live television show. Never intended to be viewed on its own, but rather projected onto the stage while we played live.

DEVO fan since 1980 when this song blew my child brains !!!
Well that's one way to use a Studio 4, I don't know how many people did that with the Studio 4 and SK-1 back in the 80s, but that was very creative.
280 likes in 14 years is insane and a sign of the corruption of the music industry and the world in general. the music industry wants to kill originality and humour
<div style="display:inline-block;transform:rotate(90deg)">|—|</div>
Thanks for uploading! My dad wrote these bass lines before the female player (Eden) joined :)
Devo is timeless. Music for the devolution of mankind. BtW Our brain mass IS shrinking.
Devo rules. It was my first concert back in 1982. I was 12. There was a couple next to me doing coke. I had no idea just what it was that they were leaning over snorting. I was like hmm okay. Lol
No one dance ! Nike people?
👌🎶👍
Why are you charging so much for your shows fella?
I want the Hat❤
The battle cry to overcome procrastination.
The problem with having birthdays.
Hmm What Property Using It's Police In Safe Transport Parade Montgomery County Maryland MD 355! TRUMP 24! Fox! Rock's Czar! The Grid All Green The Most Beautiful Woman Make Way!
DEVO is all-consuming on my planet.
So, so, so goooood!! I want that outfit.😂
Flower pot men in all their glory😅.
No, they are energy domes! Lol
You can they really don't want to be there but must need to money
They see devolution
I first encountered Devo when “are we not men“ came out. Mind blown. It reached out and stole my edgy heart forever. Well, I am just freaking old now. And their songs have stood the test of time, and changes in culture. I am very thankful that they have been a long-term part of my life since the 70s. For some low times, they have managed to carry me through.
My favourite DEVO period , Post Punk New Wave era.
Im sick of u. Ty. Long live devo. Hall of fame
Crack that whip Give the past a slip Step on a crack Break your mama's back When a problem comes along You must whip it Before the cream sits out too long You must whip it When something's going wrong You must whip it Now whip it Into shape Shape it up Get straight Go forward Move ahead Try to detect it It's not too late To whip it Whip it good When a good time turns around You must whip it You will never live it down Unless you whip it No one gets away Until they whip it I say whip it Whip it good I say whip it Whip it good Crack that whip Give the past a slip Step on a crack Break your mama's back When a problem comes along You must whip it Before the cream sits out too long You must whip it When something's going wrong You must whip it Now whip it Into shape Shape it up Get straight Go forward Move ahead Try to detect it It's not too late To whip it Into shape Shape it up Get straight Go forward Move ahead Try to detect it It's not too late To whip it Whip it good
Omg, It's shaped like a friend :D
These guys were time ahead their time… and they still sound great. I remember this song, on that video where they were using plastic yellow overalls.. .so avant-garde...

I smiled all the way thru.
Oh, this is f'n good!
Nike sucks in the same way that the song is trying to talk about. I think this is supposed to count as Devo riding their own devolution like a wave
You can't fault them too much for makin some bucks from.the band after all these years without too egregious of a sell out, i mean, almost every concert is sponsored these days, or has that greedy Ticketmaster involved
@mrJimCharles Correct I didn't mind when they used Yamaha Swiffer and them, I kinda wanted them to get with Gojo hand cleaner lool. Nike is just so close to the fellas that would go "devo!" and ram ya in the hallway heh heh. I'll also give em the huge basketball jhort-jhams and shinguard combo I wear that shit
I'm sick of this song!
Super - Ich hab sie 1980 geliebt und ich liebe sie noch heute !!
I had no idea they were this great till now ! I'm 63
Best cover eva.
Wowzer! ❤ Love it!
Originally came across this during the age of CZcams tags, when searching for Nitzer Ebb. 16 years later, remains a CLASSIC
RIP some of these places for sure (pizza king for one) also buzzsaw
What was the music playing on the tape? Was that music you composed using the SK-1?
That was a cassette tape made with the SK-1 and a cheap guitar - recorded in 1987 in my bedroom. I didn't own the Studio 4 until 2014 when this video was posted.
mark just screaming into bob's mic from the keyboards during the solos, the song refusing to end, this is sick lol
the last time we saw davey perform with them
Literally the exact thing I needed. Thank you 2012 man!
Perhaps it's time to upgrade this to 4k with animation :)
I was there! So cool to see it again, like 17 years later. I bought one of those blue energy domes I got the band to sign it! I remember Jerry broke his guitar strap thrusting his hips excessively. He seemed pretty proud of himself…😂
I have always maintained that Albany was founded by the Monteith brothers because they stopped at the Linger Longer and forgot to leave.
My people were settled in the valley long before Albany was incorporated, and that's the way they tell it.
Maravilloso !!!!!!!
MC at the end....Are we men???
Funny, I never noticed that!
Ah the nostalgia
I was one block away working at Red Star when this concert happened, and I was really bummed that it was over literally right when I got off work. All the runners lined up across the street beforehand and it was one of those moments where reality was just flipping both middle fingers in my face and guffawing like in "Peekaboo". BUT Mark did a couple of songs with a band over at a nearby bar that night, and I got to see him there at least.
@jjj WORK: Pfft; who NEEDS it!?
I've been looking for a similar cartoon that my grandmother had. It was presented as an Oswald cartoon, with the "Castle Films" title cards, but the rabbit in the film was the prey, and looked like a normal rabbit, not like any familiar incarnation of Oswald. The hunter in it, I think, was a monkey, though he was barely in it. Most of the Cartoon had the dog chasing the rabbit. The rabbit almost led him to a fox trap, but decided not to. When the dog almost walked into the trap, the rabbit sprung it right in front of him so he turned all white and fainted. I think the rabbit woke him up again by *painting* him, after which the dog first contemplated chomping the rabbit, but then licked it instead.
The Cartoon is "Rabbit Hunt" of 1938 ?
Haha I have the limited edition tiger
Wish I was there never seen the spuds ,what an amazing band is DEVO !
the only great thing from the 1995 to 99 neon is that you can remove the 2.0 engine and install the 2.4 from stratus for better perfprmance, you can turn a trashy car into a quick car.
480,000 original miles on the original motor trash?
Ils sont vieux mais l'âme restera jeune à jamais.
