“We must be of one mind” in harmony with the teachings of the Peacemaker! I was blessed to speak privately with Chief Oren Lyons in 1986. I was enquiring how I and my family could become members of the the Six Nations confederacy because it was my understanding that the confederacy was the only tribe with a Treaties with England and France predating the Constitution of the USA, before that colonization of Turtle Island. I had walked through a snowstorm following a dream I had of the Council of elders there at Onondaga. Four days I stayed in his mother’s home and on the fourth day Oren met with me. We went to the Longhouse and he spoke about the teachings of the Peacemaker. His teachings were inclusive not excluding anyone. There was an event that happened on February 27, 1973, the Wounded Knee Occupation. Eventually, Dennis Banks, a founder of the American Indian Movement sought political asylum at Onondaga who followed the White roots of Peace back to the shores of Lake Onondaga as well…he was allowed to stay…there were inter-marriages there…eventually bitterness arose within the community and a division between the “full blooded” (FBI) Indians and the mixed families and children. The two opposing sides argued their cases in the Longhouse for months until the closing argument of an Onondaga born and raised woman stated, “I am full blooded Onondaga so before I, my husband, and our children should be asked to leave our tribe and home here…then everyone who is NOT full blooded Onondaga (including Dennis Banks) must leave as well!” Or words to that effect. Oren said that in the Longhouse was complete silence (a sign that all agree) so he stated that one could hear a pin drop! That was the consensus of the people! So the Chiefs had no choice but to support the decision of the people! … Oren went on stating that due to that decision, there were still many wounds that hadn’t healed as of 1986 when we spoke. I know we (myself never knowing my biological family) human beings MUST change and I believe true intentional communities need to be created in harmony with the teachings aligned with The Peacemaker. I believe the teachings could be summed up as “Love your neighbor as yourself” and Love your Creator….

I was raised in this so called “white nationalism,” but I just call it Christianity. (Btw, I’m brown and didn’t even grow up around white people, lol) A lot of people pretend as if only “right wing white Christian nationalist” hold these awful bigoted ideas. There are just as many left wing Christian’s who believe the same kind of bigoted, misogynistic, and racist ideas which are deeply rooted in their version of Christianity also. Like I said I grew up and was raised by these people, I’ve actually studied the Bible, and I just think that the abrahamic religions are just tests to see who is susceptible to authoritarian command. The abrahamic god character is a textbook example of a violent mass murderous megalomaniacal authoritarian. I’ll never understand the allure of such awful ancient barbaric apocalyptic stories as the abrahamic ones.

Just like every "story" this is being told from one side completely ignoring the other. The "problem" with excessive policing stems from 2 major factors. The first is the increased crime and the second is the lack of support to law enforcement. Both of these together cause the quality of the police officer which decreased the quality of the law enforcement which we are seeing this from the smallest law enforcement all the way up to the FBI. And because of this, we find ourselves in a loop of complaining about the excessive police which starts the loop over again with more crime. Even though this has all been solved numerous times in history, people ignore that only to "try to solve" one part of the problem without the other...

Imagine killing thousands people and then talk about democracy human rights I don't know how United stated put up with this

Of course, I'm sure he said it better, but you get the idea. How can we ever solve our problems if we don't face up to them. I believe we're to let our light shine. I'm extremely concerned about Christian Nationalists misleading others who may not know Christ as Savior away from salvation. "How can men call upon the one whom they've not heard of.' God bless you all!! I can’t believe it’s taken me all these years to find this channel! The angry and violent rhetoric among the churches in Houston forced me to have to leave the church and my Bible study back in 2011. Yes, their angry and violent rhetoric was in response to a black man being in the White House. Unbelievable!😞 I could see something like Trump coming from way back then. I lost family and friends between that time and the time that Trump was elected, because I was holding to God’s precepts… e.g., “The peacemakers shall be called the children of God.” Love thy neighbor. Love thy enemy. The reward is eternal!

Our loyalty is to Jesus. Not to a tribe, or church fellowship, or political party, or even country. If all of society runs after lies and misinformation, then be prepared to walk alone. Mayhap well meet other travelers who simply llove God and those around them. I gave felt deep grief over how the faith gas been highjacked to serve power and control. God bless your important work. I sat among conservative believers for years, in small prayer group, and Sunday mornings. I did a lot of listening, and gently pushed back on many of the perspectives. I was tolerated with some amusement until 2015, when it became a requirement of membership into their club to worship the Republican Patty and Trump in particular. I was then labeled " Baby killer? Marxist, and worse. I couldn't possibly be a Christian and vote Democrat or support Black Lives Matter, and social, economic, environmental, racial justice. That identified me as anti American and anti Christian. I listened snd reasoned for years, and in the end shook the dust off my feet, and have been walking alone with Jesus. Looking for an unpolluted gathering of followers of Christ. Thank you for putting the hard work you do to bring sanity and clarity to this insanity. It is scary, reminiscent of Germany in the 1930's.

I am so grateful to have found a church in St. Paul Minnesota, (Woodland Hills), who's Pastor, Dr. Greg Boyd, addressed many of the issues that we are talking about today more than a decade ago. Back then it was focused on "why we don't fly the flag here" followed by some lessons in Christian history. They lost almost a third of its members.

Very interesting! And apart from the sad topic of child abuse it is good to see a connection between peacebuilding and child protection here. Because a nonviolent childhood certainly is the foundation of peaceful societies. If you compare the countries listed at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_corporal_punishment_laws with the Global Peace Index (like Robin Grille did in his book "Parenting for a peaceful world", or Franz Jedlicka in "The forgotten Peace Formula") you will realize that it is true. And the SDG 16 contains both: peace and child protection (SDG 16.2.)

Interesting that people who read and use verses from the same Bible come up with totally different conclusions. Even those who are trained in the Bible and theology. Is God the author of confusion? Or is it just the case that God does not exist and the Bible is a collection of stories that many times contradict themselves. This book of stories can be and has been used to justify everything from war to slavery to murder. Sad.

She wants everyone to tip toe around the Evangelicals, but what she's asking everyone else to do is what they themselves should be doing since they claim to be Christian. Christian Nationalism is heresy and that's it. Jesus said except you are born again you will not see the Kingdom of God. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. There is no systemic racism in the US. There are some racist people, including many blacks who dislike whites. Most often, claims of systemic racism are merely an attempt to divert attention from destructive culture and behavior. If you are concerned about racism, focus on China and the Middle East, where it really is a problem, and not on the US which is one of the least racist countries on earth.

It is tough conversations like these that promote the well-being for all people, regardless of church affiliation. Thank you for hosting these conversations. ❤
