    • @TheBeadShopNottinghamLimited
      @TheBeadShopNottinghamLimited Před 2 měsíci

      Hello, Thank you for the question. Yes it will work just as well with one thread as it will with 2 or even more threads, depending on how many threads you can get through the hole in the hinge. The majority of necklaces made in our shop are single stranded necklaces and using these necklaces ends. I hope this helps.

    Beautiful. Can you help me out? I am working with Miyuki beads and my thread keeps pulling off the needle. Is the eye of my needle too big please help. Keeping re-threading is not fun and I never get this earring done. I used the needles that pinch the thread but they are not good for these beads. Namaste, TYSM

    • @TheBeadShopNottinghamLimited
      @TheBeadShopNottinghamLimited Před 2 měsíci

      Hi, you may find pulling more thread through the eye or starting with a longer piece of thread helpful. If you're using an appropriate sized needle (the eye can pass through the hole of the beads) the needle your using shouldn't make too much difference. It also comes with experience, the more you do the more comfortable you'll find the process. I hope you find this useful.

    Hi❤does this work with the size 0.4(string)

    • @TheBeadShopNottinghamLimited
      @TheBeadShopNottinghamLimited Před 7 měsíci

      You probably wouldn't get 0.4mm string through the eye of a beading needle. However if you have an appropriate size needle for your thread this technique may well work for you. It does depend a lot of the type of thread. Beading thread is quite smooth which is a different texture to other threads (for example sewing thread has lots of tiny loose fibres along it, which can make it tricky to thread in this way). I hope this helps.

    I’ve followed your directions to a T and the knot won’t hold the Stretch Magic labeled, 1mm/.039” diameter. Have you used this size? Can you tell me what other knot might work?

    • @TheBeadShopNottinghamLimited
      @TheBeadShopNottinghamLimited Před 8 měsíci

      A surgeons knot, as mentioned below is similar and might hold better for you. It's the same as a reef knot, but on the second knot wrap around twice. Alternatively on thicker stretch magic elastic you could also use a crimp tube (size 3 should work), though you have to be very careful not to over squash the crimp as it can damage the elastic. I have had success using knots and crimps on stretch magic before. I hope this helps.

    Hello, thank you for posting this video this is exactly what I've been looking into for my necklace making! May I ask how secure the crimp beads are in the clasp when using nylon thread? I've seen online that it's not recommended, and I don't want to sell necklaces that have a risk of slipping though if this makes sense? Thank you!!

    • @TheBeadShopNottinghamLimited
      @TheBeadShopNottinghamLimited Před 8 měsíci

      Crimp tubes are better than crimp beads for this. It comes with practice and experience, squashing hard enough to grip securely, but not so hard that the thread is damaged. Some people add a little glue, but I don't usually do that (for risk of getting glue everywhere). I hope that's helpful.
