Entry level how-to videos, having fun and sharing life lessons are what you can find here. Jack of all and master of none sums me up pretty well. I get resourceful to get the job done and I'll share my tips with you, but I want you to share your tips as well so we can create a helping community. I'm all about building community and guiding men to find their purpose. We have a big job to do and too many of us don't take our responsibility serious enough. I'm not talking about being a workaholic, I'm talking about one of your most important roles - your family! We have to love them and raise our kids up proper. You'll see my successes and failures as I try to steer you away from doing what didn't work for me and letting you know what did work.

I am going to buy this kit. I like it hangs from a chain not on the rad or expansion tank
@@vanessaziobro1118 It hasn't let me down, and I think you'll enjoy using this.
Try putting the striker with spring in the slide channel and you can push the slide back on and not have to fumble with it. I tried your way at first. No fun
Thank you for that! I'll try it next time I strip it apart. Yeah, this was not fun to put back together and I knew I was doing something wrong.
Im pretty sure its your flim flam flange...right on the backside of the piddle paddle just past the doohickey😂..... Sorry, that's what it sounds like to non boat people 😂
@@billponderosa88 The film flam flange is so hard to reach behind the piddle paddle! I sure hope that's not what the issue is!
When my alternator locked up, was able to catch it before the belt fried. After seeing the sticker shock as you did, I was able to find OEM (not John Deere, but the actual bearing manufacturer) replacement bearings online for $12 each in 2017. The mnfctr name is stamped on the side of the bearing. So if you have the ability to remove/replace them that's another option. Personally I like ur solution and uprating the alternator output.
@@ronaldscott781 Oh that's cool, and a great option! I'm not using the extra power this new alternator can provide but I'm hoping that means it lasts longer.
If you put a pipe or fasten a 5 gallon bucket possibly depending on the dimensions but put a intake tube maybe 2 foot long something to concentrate the airflow and force it to go by the electric motor a lot more effectively maybe a garbage can and cut bottom off self tap it through the lip around the perimeter of the intake. Should give you massive airflow over the motor then throw an air filter on it if you wanna get fancy lol
That's not a bad idea. My HVAC friend who gave it to me suggested I build a box once the motor started overheating. I've thought about that but always had more pressing projects. I'd like to incorporate a way to direct the airflow more though.
This type of motor is actually designed to run under a load. If you don't have load or restriction on the intake side it's going to free spin too easily overspeed And thermal overload pretty common issue..... I think there's a website that you can find information about all this. I'm trying to remember the name of it.......oh yea GOOGLE thats it😅
Better yet cover a quarter or so of the inlet or supply and cause a restriction. Doing this will lower the amp draw and the motor will not overheat.
@@spaceboy7192 beat me to it
@@spaceboy7192 Causing a restriction will lower the current draw? That makes no sense to me at all. Sounds like it will increase the current draw
@@spaceboy7192 It seems counter-intuitive, but yes, restricting the airflow somewhat actually works. I used a blower like this as a booster to improve the performance of a central A/C condenser unit. Despite the high temperature environment, it worked perfectly for years.
I've been Hvac service and install for 23 years. I hear what everyone is saying and I don't disagree but I've seen these work as shop fans for years first just check Amp draw when running also check the capacitor if it cap is good I think it's probably just bad motor. But I'm sure his little computer fan isn't going to help.
@@TheRoostersGarageFind a meter capable of reading amp draw. Put a piece of cardboard on the opposite side of the motor. Name plate on the motor should have a amp rating. Adjust piece of cardboard to motor amp draw and secure. You will eventually let the smoke out of your motor by running wild...
Not sure maybe it’s not working as hard. Doesn’t have pressure on it all the time keeping it up so all the fluid just settles and you’re not using it very often so it’s only a little chance for a little bit of it to leak out. That’s my guess.
I have one on mine definitely recommend especially when you’re going down the street. It doesn’t bounce around.
@@justsomecoronaviruswithint1897 That sounds very reasonable
is it a 5.9?
6.7
Wrap the outside of the tank in bubble wrap insulation used for ductwork and it will solve your problem for around 35 to 40$
The issue isn't keeping the water hot, this heater just doesn't really heat the water. The outside is always room temperature, so it's not losing a lot through lack of insulation. Wrapping it was my first thought when I started having issues. It's got several sensors and I thought it was a higher performance heater based on the specs. Instead it's primary design is to be energy efficient. It's always giving me warnings and recommendations because I have it set to 135, rather than a more energy efficient 120
This video helped so much, thank you! My dad’s house was built in the 60’s and surprisingly doesn’t have a main breaker. The 30 AMP for the dryer messed up after some years and I replaced it for him using this video as guidance. Except well I pulled out the breaker first and then loosened the wires and then wired them back in the new breaker and put the breaker back in the panel turned off and once inserted, I turned it back on and no arc flash or nothing.
Awesome!! I'm glad it helped. Thank you for letting me know
That bleeder should be on the high side. I know it's been a few years but how is it working so far with the hydro set up?
Well, their caliper is upside down by their design. I have a follow up video where I used a snow machine caliper, another brand of 4 wheeler hydraulic handle. Now it works great that I reengineered everything, lol
The ultimate drivetrain a Cummins and an Allison I had no idea you could Do this
Yeah, it's been very solid too. Lockup happens before second gear, fuel mileage is up a bit, and it tows like a dream.
I've been using my dad's 455 to take care of their acreage after he passed a couple years ago, and I try to keep up on maintainence. However I am having issues with it running well consistently. At times, I can crank and crank and nothing happens, no vapor or smoke out the exhaust. Other times it'll puff some white vapor then goes black as it starts up. When it runs the throttle control is very responsive and it mows and runs very well. I got a few hours of mowing in and then it started to bog so I shut down the deck and it ended up dying. I tried to start it back up and it was struggling to start.. It eventually did start, but then experienced engine runaway (no idea why this happened and I have not noticed any oil consumption - just changed the oil also). I immediately pulled the intake tube and blocked it with my hand and it died within about 5 seconds (as I prayed it wouldn't explode in my face) The fuel pump does run, I get flow to the filter, and past. The fuel cutoff solenoid engages quickly and pulls all the way back. I have not checked the glow plugs, injectors, compression, or adjusted the valves, I don't know how to check the injection pump (hoping this isn't the problem), and don't know what other components I need to look at. I have changed the fuel filter, checked the fuel pump and cleaned the screen to allow better flow, fresh oil change and fresh transaxle fluid change. Im very puzzled that it sometimes is hard to start, and other times not so much, and also confused that it ran very well as I was mowing. I am lost and need guidance on what I need to look into, test, and fix. I'm very behind on mowing there for my mom and need help getting this back into Where should I start? Thank you in advance and sorry this is so long, I just wanted to give insight on what is happening and what I've done /haven't done so far.
I'm sorry my response has taken so long. CZcams for some reason flagged this as a spam comment and I don't check the spam folder regularly. I'm no expert but I'd put money on low compression especially since you experienced a runaway. How many hours are on the motor? You might want to take it to a shop and let them look it over to ensure you don't have another runaway and ruin this since I'm sure it most likely holds sentimental value for you. If it wasn't for the runaway issue, I'd suggest trying some more things but knowing it's runaway once, if it were me I'd want a professional to look it over.
Well that's redneck
Why wouldn’t you use a threaded plug?
That's what I went looking for, but my small town hardware store doesn't have a huge selection so I had to make do with what was available or spend over 40 minutes in the truck.
Funny how people with high horsepower duramax put a 48re in them
I've heard people drag race with them and there's a huge aftermarket support system for them. I considered a 48RE, but I considered everything that would fit.
Can we get a ride along or update
Yeah I have a fairly recent video that's a ride along czcams.com/video/bn7gbFaoQ9A/video.html
thank you for a brave awesome video,i just learned something new....take care....
I really don't like working in the electrical panel. I truly prefer to stick to low voltage DC, lol
super glue and bacon soda works better and is hard as steel, works on plastic, and carbon fiber
Great option too! Love it
Not only wallowed out holes in wood, I custom cut pieces of wood, preferably hard pine, to fit into holes I drill into masonry. Metal anchors and tap-cons often rust out but a screw in a hard pine anchor will not rust.
Wow, never thought of that but that does make sense!
Toofpicks work great but they poke you
Elmers and matched instead of toothpicks and wood glue interesting
Elmer's wood glue is just brown dyed school glue, but much more expensive. My dad was into woodworking but I'm not a fan. My wife is a teacher so I have lots of access to school glue
Golf tee works better.
Golf tees work better
Ohh, I bet they would. I'm not a golfer so I don't have any in hand
toothpicks easier and less mess
Golf tees
DONT USE STRIKE ANYWHERE 😊
I don't keep the head in there, but that's a good point!
Aren't green tipped matches strike anywhere? I tend to use tooth picks with the point cut off but similar idea
These are super old matches that barely strike even on the box, but normally yes the green tips are strike anywhere. These are strike on box matches but they put a green tip. I tried to strike these on several surfaces when they were new but nothing else worked
Wood glue?
Elmer's school glue is the same as Elmer's wood glue, and I'm not a woodworker but my wife is a teacher so I asked her for a bottle of glue
I guess that’s somehow supposed to be easier than using bigger screws?
Easier no, but I did this to fix a guitar strap button where a bigger screw wasn't am option.
Sometimes you can't use a bigger screw
Mind blown. I have some holes to fill!!!
Nice!
This worked exactly like Rooster said. I couldn't believe it! I saved a lot of money just by going to the Dollar General instead of buying the expensive boat prop cleaners! Thanks Rooster...keep em coming!
I'm so glad this could save you money!!
I grabbed an N95 just watching that
Lol
No mf way you side a bike bump.. their aint no way you pumping up a car tire with a bike pump.. speacially if you leave the car on the ground not jacked up in the air.. all the wait of the vehicle on the tire.. id bett you a ton of money a hand type of bike pump would not work..
You should try things before you say they won't work. I've done it for years
Take razor knife trim so it's even with tread is another good practice
I tried it with my pocket knife and it wasn't sharp enough to cut it and wound up pulling it out too far for comfort. I bet with a razor it would be much better though. I'll do that on my spare tire that has the repair just sticking out.
Do yourself a favor and buy a Safety Seal kit. They are made in USA and the handles are all metal. I bought one years ago and am more than happy with it. the harbor freight kits are better than nothing, but Safety Seal is where it’s at. 👍
I'll have to get one. I've broken more of these tools than I can remember
I just checked out their website and those are some nice looking tools!! Plus they don't use cement!
How does the red cord not pull out when you yank the handle out?
The plunger is a fork so it pulls off when you pull out. it's crazy I know, thought the same thing when I first seen it. Works great for small punctures like screws and nails.
The end has a split that allows the rubber to bend around and through. The first time I saw it I thought it would never work. A very clever engineer worked on the design
In 25 years of driving had 1 just 1 plug come out of a tire and it was my own fault.. They don’t leak etc. I use a slightly different method to install them but still nonetheless it will be fine.. carry a kit in the car.. lived near a construction site once just the driver side had 20 plugs 😂
What method do you use?
@@TheRoostersGarage lube the reaming tool with glue, get the hole nice and clean and rough, proceed 50 add glue to the plug add fire a few second, blow out then insert give. Few seconds to cool in the tyre and remove the tool. Fire and lube work well every time lol. 😂
Nope. I drive 120 miles 4 days a week. I wouldn’t trust this shit. If I get a hole in my tire I put my spare on and get a $40 used tire to replace it with. There’s a man in my area that goes to junk yards and gets perfectly good tires off of wrecked cars for super cheap.
I've had tire oatches last years.
thug bro
why are the black ones junk?
Because they’re Black
They never seal, won't stay in and sometimes pull out when removing the tool. I don't know what's different just that I've had the worst time with them
@@TheRoostersGarageyou ever use a bit of glue on the reaming tool for a bit of lube? I also use a bit of fire to set the glue on the plug before installing. Like I said in a previous comment only ever had one fail and use the black ones.. have has a few pull out, though before using the glue lube method.. maybe it’s just luck 😆..
@@kitty-rides I’ve never had the black ones fail maybe you’re just tireplugist
@@kitty-rides I've never tried glue on the reamer, or fire, but I like fire. I've set beads with fire a lot
My tire rolled it was bald and all u seen was a lil reddish dot, patched it a few weeks after purchase. I work on a construction site, I trust these patches 😂😂😂😂😂
Haha, yep. Dad ran them till multiple belts showed in his tires once and never had an issue with these leaking
My tire rolled it was bald and all u seen was a lil reddish dot wowzers
@@TheRoostersGarage You sir are an idiot. Been in the tire industry my whole life (since birth) I'm 53. That is the most hillbilly shade tree crap in the world. Not to mention that's the cheapest crap plug kit you can buy. Do you even have a clue about the damage you've done to the steel belts. This is a video on what not to do to a tire people. This guy is a 🤡.
Nah permanent would be sanding that pull thru from the inside, cleaning it, and then a cover patch over the inside
Watch my long format video and I go into detail on exactly how permanent this is
A lotta time this is all they are going to do to patch your tire at the shop they will end up using the same thing
When I worked at a tire shop we would pop the bead and use the plug and patch. Either is permanent but the plug and patch gave the customer the warm and fuzzies and we got to charge for more labor
Forget all that jazz. Just plug the fires and move on. Been doing like this for 35 years and never had an issue.
@@TheRoostersGarage The worst part is I'm on the road with stupid people like you who think this is a legit repair. When you are to poor to care about your safety and the safety of people around you to pay 25 bucks for a real tire repair that 45 cent plug isn't the only poor decision you've made with your life.
Air compressor or bike pump doesn't matter. Tell me that after 30 minutes of pumping and you're only 1/3 pumped up, and every muscle in your shoulder and legs are on fire. It will matter then lol.
I've done it before. It's all in what people can afford
@@TheRoostersGarage I don't doubt you've done it before. Point still stands, and those cheap car air compressors are about the same price as a bike pump now. Might only work twice, but you only need it to work once.
Lol, there's also gas stations with pay compressors that are cheap options too.
Should have gone with ATS Diesel conversion. They change the bell on the tranny for a direct fit without grinding.
They just introduced their kit before I went with this and I would have had to get their torque converter as well, but wanted the CA torque converter. All I wanted was the bellhousing and may still get it one day to have the Cummins starter instead of the Ford one under the turbo
User error 😂
If you think that after I spent lots of time with Garmin's customer support then what does that say about their customer support? No, it actually wound up being my Samsung S10e phone for some very odd reason. I bought another boat and it had this same unit. I had the exact same issues. I wound up having to upgrade my phone and the new phone worked. No errors shown on the S10e or anything, just waiting. It's their terrible software 😂
im good with this... now tell some of your idiotic brethren to stop parking in ev spots because they think its triggering... i dont even drive an ev but its only a matter of time till some loon in a model X drags that big diesel truck down the road with a 4" tow strap.
