      1. The latest batch of Hi75 has much better build quality right now; 2. the first batch of Hi75 has worse build quality because: 2.1 This ia a very cheap keyboard which it cannot afford much more cost and potential loss, 2.1 so they are using cheaper die-cast machining (compare to better but expensive CNC, cause rougher surface; 2.2 Worse quality control requirement. They prefer to ship some little defect keyboard that may alleviate the possible defect loss

    So what you're saying is, the more expensive-to-manufacture product was initially released to early adopters fully branded, which are typically the only demographic to actually film product reviews or proactively generate interest in new products through word-of-mouth, and then certain esoteric people had certain esoteric grievances with the branding that causes certain esoteric problems, therefore reducing the manufacturing cost of the item for free, because certain esoteric people don't like it, a situation that has Leobog getting two birds with one stone, selling a cheaper(for them), more minimalist(featureless) case while also being more personified as a commercial entity for listening to consumer feedback, while still having easily recognized branded items in virtually all videos with this item. Of course, it's just theory. Marketing theory, if you will.

      @@odinblog I'm sorry-- I wasn't suggesting that you are somehow complicit or involved with whatever's going on. I'm sure that what you've said are actual statements that have been made and that you're just reporting on them. I just personally don't believe it. I don't believe that they've just decided on this drastic repeated redesign on a very freshly launched product for such frivolous reasons, especially on a product that appears to be selling very well. Doubly so since those stated reasons were among the biggest complaints for the Hi75, you'd think they'd make those changes at the planning stages for the new product if it was that much of a genuine concern to them. I can't say I definitively know why they changed it, maybe cost, maybe product turnover rate, maybe QA, who knows, but I'm willing to bet that it wasn't some moment of genuine reflection over grassroots consumer complaints.

    • @panameadeplm
      @panameadeplm Před 4 měsíci

      @@odinblog Besides, $100 for just the case and board is not exactly "low budget." It's the cheapest offering for a high-end "luxury" keyboard that is still a lot more expensive than most keyboards, even mechanical gaming keyboards, and those are all full of branding even at $50 for a full keyboard. It's wrong to say that having branding is somehow arrogant on their part. It's just not. Or if it was, it would be equally arrogant of Rainy75. All of these keyboards are high-end keyboards. I know you can go well past $500 for one of these, but that's a small demographic, even among mechanical keyboard enthusiasts.

      @@panameadeplm What you don't know that in China, there are so many company using the "Most Viarable Product" for quicker response and shorter day of inventory. Once the keyboards entered mass production, they will try to produce the least amount of product for later iteration. That's why these keyboards usually sold out and have so many SKUs.

I noticed that I have been watching one keyboard review after another, and I found that the sound tests are not enough for me to figure out which keyboard is the one that I prefer. I began to narrow down the most important values that I want out of a keyboard: comfort, all-day typing comfort, prevent carpel tunnel and inspire creativity. The RT100 so far has been one of the best typing experiences that I have had so far. The Wisteria switches are so easy to type on. The lighter that I type, the more soothing the sound signature. I did these comparison between Hi8 and the QK75 (2022) does represent the normal standard of entry-level custom aluminium keyboards. You may see that the Hi8's anodizing is quite similar to the QK75 which means it does reach the stand of an entry-level custom aluminium keyboards. However, the case of Hi8 have many defects (about 6~7 point) which means it's quality control still need improvement.

    how is the hi8 texture compared to hi75?

    • @odinblog
      @odinblog Před 7 měsíci

      They are different finishing (Hi75 is spraying but Hi8 is anodizing) and not easy to compare. but personally I think Hi8 is much better than Hi75 (just because the finishing of Hi75 is not good enough.

    ah finally! I was waiting for a hi8 review since your last video on the hi75 was so good. I had the same concerns as you regarding the homogenity of the sound signature of the hi75, and how the hi8 has somewhat fixed that. I have the nimbus switches and was planning to pair them with the hi75, and to hear that they go well with the hi8 is great news. do you think the vertex v1s will also sound good with the hi8? also, I am curious on how the hi8 can sound without foams however since the internal structure has changed. cant wait for the in depth review!

      @@rinnoX1 I don’t have plans to do a comparison test between the HI8 and Rainy75. To be precise, I don’t have the budget to buy another one for testing. @@rinnoX1 Sorry I missed your question 😅 I think Vertex V1 is a pretty demanding switches that need much more foam for sound damping, but as you know, Hi8 is full of foam so it can produce thocky sound with V1.

      @@odinblog I see, thank you! And sorry to keep asking more questions, but from what I've heard is that even though the hi8 has the advantage of bringing out the switch's characteristics more, the hi8 doesn't have the same signature "thock" sound profile as the hi75, and so it wont be as well received (I think 801works said this). Do you think the hi75's sound profile can be replicated with the hi8?

    How does the sound of this compare to Hi75? Hi75 sounded like one of the most creamiest budget boards ever and sounded super creamy no matter the switch. Is this board as creamy as the Hi75?

      he said it in another comment "It is not easy to compare these 2 sound profile. If you don't wanna change your switches usually, Hi75 is the no-brainer because no matter what switch is installed (even some poor and unlubed switches), it still create the SAME good sound; but the Hi8's sound may not as good as Hi75 when you are using some poor unlubed switches. However, if you feel bored with only one kind of keyboard sound, you may try Hi8 because it may have different sounds between different switches -- if the switches is good enough." also u said the word creamy way too many times
