A great hifi setup indeed calms your nerves and can do wonders. Now everyone can put together the system the way they like it but I truly wonder why someone would choose the entry level X3 speakers with the Forte 3 instead of choosing like a C3 and matching Aavik mid-tier electronics (to stay inside the same company) when literally apparently going full out on DTC cabling etc. There are a lot of limitations in these entry level products due to necessary corner cutting at these low price points. This somehow feels like a commercial where the guy gets an extra strong discount for his system to make this video.

Spkr cables aren’t balanced, single-ended IC’s are perfectly adequate.

It's difficult to consider a $70k preamp which claims to be "solid" copper but is clearly rivited together or have single ended inputs, outputs when balanced is clearly the prefered standard. I would compare it to flat earth, not that the leaders in charge of the world have been wrong before. But these guys are flat earth? Unlikely.

I have a Quad SC center speaker which sounds very compressed in the high frequencies during explosion scenes. Is this a usual characteristic of ribbon tweeters?

How does one get into stereo before one likes music? I Do not have anything against a good stereo, but I did not see any room treatment in this video, and there is no room that size that does not need it with such big speakers. So unless I am missing something hi might just have invested in extremes to overcome some issues that could have been solved with room treatment. I have many stereos in the house, and one of my bookshelves can do a great job just like he described. They are vey open and fill the room. they open up more if I put them further apart. They open up more if I add a sub, they open up even more if I kill all cancellations in the room.

I spoke to Bill Thalmann about this some years ago, before he succumbed to his illness and passed away a few months ago. He was the main design influence is Conrad-Johnson tube amps and they still follows his philosophy. He asked me if I had noticed that none of the C-J preamplifiers and amplifiers were balanced. I had not. His view was that it was only required in kilometer long (slight exaggeration) and of course studios. He felt that putting the max effort into a single-ended circuit would maximise the investment, which was considerable. Personally, I agree to a degree but there is room for balanced circuits (as opposed to balanced cables) even if the output is not used as balanced.

With a dome tweeter you have to do something that most designers do not do, which is the dampen the "Fs" with a null filter with just the right Q. *_They don't like amplitude_* and that technique goes a long way to kill it. I am of course not saying anything against what is said in this video and the mass advantage of ribbons, but I know that a dome can sound almost ribbon like when at its best, but it is rare to see that happen, *_very_* rare. Also, there is something to be said about ring radiators.

Axxess forte, the budget option to dive into the waters of audiodenmarkgroup. Can you provide more info on the following questions please. 1. What is the power output rating for 4 ohms speakers? 2. Does the axxess forte has manual equalizer settings?

I thinking about buying either a pair of 01 or 02, can't decided which would work best in my room with a pair of REL Carbon specials.

Note here that he says that the signature sound of the speaker is on the *_electrical_* side. There is growing interest in this area, but it will take time. This is an area where not everything is what it seems to be.

Explanation of chassis grounding versus signal grounding can be found in some video interviews of Shunyata Research. Technology for these can either be passive grounding or active grounding. Very few companies offer active grounding AFAIK, where the reference ground is frequently recalculated. Unclear if Shunyata uses passive or active.

Can't you just lift the ground off an unselected circuit like Ayre?

Jake @ Ayre Acoustics turned me on to Borresen's low mass drivers as a synergistic match for Ayre's zero feedback circuitry. The low inductance and low mass drivers I'm experiencing with Seawave Acoustics piques my interest in Borresen's low inductance designs.

Unclear whether this can drive 4 Ohm speakers or planer speakers which typically are difficult. Also, is there bass output / management?

to glue rubberring with coated castkets ther a lot better glues then your taking contact adhesive, contact adhesive you taking if you glue two dislikeing material and not rubber on coat.

2:55 for good fixing of contact adhesive is first strong press importend and not your like sensitive point to point press, normal you take press ring for one strong press. again check contact adhesive user instruction, contact adhesive glueing ist total diffrent then all other glues.
