For my money, she rates along side Bette Davis and Joan Crawford . She was an all rounder

That was some shit!!! Highly decorated soldier I'm assuming offered a job by the president who didn't have the brains to have something in writing or a secondhand man he could trust in the event the deal went south. 😡

One of my favorite actors of all time Robert Taylor, at the level of John Wayne, Clark Gable, Bing Crosby, Alan Ladd, Burt Lancaster, Robert Mitchum, Charlton Heston, James Cagney

Yes.Almost all the early films are wonderful. My guess is that the studio system, along with the profit move, keeps more or less high standards to fill the theaters. If the motion picture did not make money, there was hardy a second chance. They had serious arguments, people got fired if they refused, or didn't make money for the studio...Addendum: OH, the churches were open for a lot of innocents. Outwardly, most people had high morals, or were afraid what the neighbors would say if they got caught. But, fear of public exposure, fear of the "after-life" made most people polite, or courteous in public, anyway. Getting in fights and getting drunk was a manly sport. Hypocrisy is nothing new.

What a great old gem! Always loved Barbara Stanwyck! First knew her from THE BIG VALLEY, as a kid watching re-runs. I love seeing her in her early movie career. She was a class act at every stage of that long illustrious career.

@dianalee8967 Seems everyone is "nostalgic" for times even before they were alive considering what life is now. I was born in '68 and have lost interest in most everything after 2000 or so. Especially "music".
