If a man has the money and wants to spend it on a deer that some one has spent thousands of dollars feeding, maintaining feeders, fences and property in general so be it. No, it's not for everybody but to each their own. Y'all go back to shooting the first thing that walks out because if you don't your neighbor will. I love seeing what a good deer can become if given the chance to mature with a good food and water source. Jealousy is a terrible thing and I see a lot of it here. Slackers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a bad deal. We had bumped the turrets on the ride out to the stand. Went back to the lodge and got it right back to zero.
Why feed cotton seed late in the year? My understanding is that it sterilizes deer.

That’s a misconception, if cottonseed is all the deer feeds on than that may happen, a wild free range deer like that browses on all kinds of brush, no sterilization at all
Cottonseed helps put the fat back on the deer after the rut when they are worn down
If you can afford it, it’s a good idea. Helps keep weight on the deer. Infertile does haven’t been an issue on all these ranches…..

Well technically it is south Texas and I hunt in runge. That being said this is high fence but south Texas and that area makes big free range deer. I’ve shot one on low fence that went 175 on the San Antonio river bottom. My family has been there for 40 years…
