great set but horrible whitewash of aida... doesn’t make sense if she’s not black, also that girl needs to get some breath control and SANG instead of speaking
In 'Enchantment passing through' the leading duo sounds like pros.
thanks, Michael Bang! <3
all she kept doing was up turning her hands. Like...she doesn't know what to do with them. >.>
That was AMAZING!!! I actually started tearing up at Mereb’s death and then again at Aida and Radames death and then reunion at the end!!! Amazing job by the whole cast and crew!! I liked Radames and Aida’s chemistry. I have seen some other versions and most of the time the chemistry isn’t there. This cast you could tell there was chemistry. Also I really liked the Pharaoh, Aida’s father and Amneris!! They all were really good!
Boys in my high school theatre program didn’t look like this!
Best 2 hrs of my life
Lopez high school in Brownsville Texas will be performing this same play on February 7,8,9. 2019.
Wow what a good job! I just did this on my channel come watch if you can czcams.com/video/7PQWAcOuXG0/video.html
Super cool!!!
czcams.com/video/IIS9nVPxtCQ/video.html you guys should totally watch this if you love aida
OMG!!! I love it. Excellent. Congratulations
This is absolutely amazing! Well done, you all! Really enjoy to watch it again and again!:)
But bro I’m so confused I see what I think is high school students who are at most 10th grade but then I see what I swear to god are 5th graders. What school is this?
6:01 that growl
The cast list at my elementary was just posted and I got Aida!! Another play another lead.
BROADWAY WORTHY
Jesus Christ this is a middle school?! They’re fucking amazing! (Sure they voices could use some work but they’re acting for such young kids is wonderful)
that base flute at the beginning of the song every story is a love story tho. its hard to play and that person did a pretty darn good job.
Wack
Your "wack"
Fantastic! Well done!

The shirtless guys are hot but they dress like pirates or bandits
Superb
Two weeks ago my school announced we are doing this musical and auditions were Wednesday. The results came back today and I'm Radames! I watched this the day they told us what musical it is, and honestly the actor for Aida on this is my idea of who Aida would be like. If you read this, you were phenomenal! This video is really making me look forward to the coming months
Thank you so much!!! And congrats! Break a leg!!! Definitely one of my favorites
Never actually got the notification of your reply but now I am responding two weeks after closing night. It really has been the time of my life and the first time I have ever done any sort of show. I found a new passion with it that I didn't realize I had, and I plan to audition for more shows when I get the chance. I'm auditioning for Beauty and the Beast this summer and I am very excited for it. But I will never forget my first show and the amazing friends I made throughout it. Great job in this once again! The entire cast watched this time and time again as we went along, and it helped some of us newer to theatre find our characters, especially myself.
Legoindie Comments I’m watching this preparing for auditions on Tuesday. I’m trying to be Amneris. It’s a bigger role than I’ve ever gotten, so I’m kind of shooting for the moon here, but I have such a passion for this show and for theatre, so I’m crossing my fingers! I’m so glad you had this experience, and I’m hoping to have one just like it!
the water bottleeeee
1:35:50 Anyone else see this and think PHANTOM!!!
Stumbled upon this out of curiosity (sang I know the truth for an audition) and wow I honestly cannot believe this is a highschool production....The leads voices are absolutely incredible! I got chills from The Gods Love Nubia
Thank you!!! It was my first lead role! :-) still has a lot to learn but was very exciting!
beautiful,Wow
we just finished with our school performance of this!
I am SOOOO proud of Idan. What an honor it has been to watch her grow up and to have been able to work with such an incredible person and artist. I love her so much!!! XOXO

Ehh.errrr...ehhhhh. Its a high school production. what did I expect.
My brother plays Marab in the senior musical, and I honestly think this is the best musical our school ever had.

This is such an amazing play! I recently sang My Strongest Suit in a performance, so I looked into Aida, found this video, and I totally loved it!!
I just played in this show, you guys did a great job!
Whitewashed af
When it comes to school productions a lot of the time they can't help it. They only have their students who try out to choose from and not a bunch of actors who have had training and gotten an agent that set up the audition. When every person auditioning has tons of experience and has been trained THEN you can take looks into account for a role. With high schools they mostly cast just by the talent and gender of the people who audition.
When you dont have the proper ethnicity for a show, thats when you pick a different show... It's as simple as that
Wow. Just so you know, we have a small private school, PreK through 12th and only about 50 students in our high school. Speaking as the director and a person of color myself, there was no intention to offend. When I saw this show, I loved it and wanted our school to do it. The young woman who played Aida is Israeli and my Radames, ironically enough was half African American...as well as Aida's father (who happens to be his brother). Our school is international and in actual fact, a good number of my cast wasn't even American. I cast based on talent, not race. I do not agree on not doing shows that don't have proper ethnicities, especially as an Asian woman, that would have severely limited my opportunities. I believe in color and gender blind casting all the way. A good story and a good script should be available for all.
Not saying your talent wasn't there, it's just when a show specifically writes roles for certain races you should not question or alter... so when you say "color blind", it'd be ok for an all white cast to do the color purple right? That would go over so well! I'm all for equal opportunity, but there is a line that shouldn't be crossed sometimes.
HAHAHA!! To be honest, I wouldn't try to do Color Purple or Hairspray without an African American cast. And when I was in college, I saw some theatre students (who were white) doing a scene from Raisin in the Sun and I was TOTALLY confused and thought it was weird. I can see and completely respect your point of view, but a show like Color Purple or Hairspray speaks so directly to the African American experience that it definitely would be weird to do those shows with a mostly white cast. However, I felt the story of Aida was essentially a story about love and duty, subjects that transcend any kind of racial distinction. So while I completely respect your viewpoint (and also happen to agree that there should be more opportunity for non-Caucasian actors FOR SURE!!), my desire to tell the story was stronger that any consideration of the races who played the roles.
It pissed me off so much at how they didn't cheat out at all
Don't hate they are giving it their all to do the best they can and they are good
Both the actors who played Aida and radames are extraordinary, especially considering the fact that these are teenagers with no lifetime or even a decade of training I assume. Brilliant. I would listen to these two on the stages of New York City and London. The strength of the voice, the emotion in the sound, down to the superb acting while singing. Even when a note may have been strained, the acting was so excellent that it became unimportant. Every scene between Aida and radames was so brilliantly executed in speech and emotion. Don't ever stop singing and acting. Please. The directing in this show is also on point, natural and beautifully flowing- much better than any other high school production but dammit they really hit the nail with Aida and radames, i was blown away- post any musical or performance your daughter is in and my day will be made. Can't find more emotion in a singing face.
SOOOOOOOOO GOOD
I love Aida's (Idan Bar) speaking and singing voice and stage presence! Captivating! Thank you for posting this!
very good loved it we are doing Aida for my high school
Collin Senecal same, my brother is playing Marab (in the original play Marab is a male) and he's a awesome singer/actor.
