The Animals - House of the Rising Sun (1964) HD + Lyrics
zhlédnutí 9MPřed 11 lety
Eric Burdon - vocals Alan Price - keyboards Hilton Valentine - guitar Chas Chandler - bass John Steel - drums Lyrics There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God I know I'm one My mother was a tailor She sewed my new bluejeans My father was a gamblin' man Down in New Orleans Now the only thing a gambler needs Is a suitcase and trunk ...
I want time to stop here and never advance ... just stay here.
0:42 my mother was a tailor, she sewed my new jeans. This makes no sense. A seamstress sews clothing. If his mother was a tailor, she would more likely to have tailored his clothes..
Привіт, Гітіс
Demons hate this song. Play it to someone possessed and you will see !

Yo 😊 Germany here, it came via so called Ohrwurm (earworm) to me
(One of the best songs of all time. :) And yes, we in Russia also love this song. (And sometimes we even play it on a balalaika with vodka. And a trained bear sings 🤣 🤣 ) And there are also its own texts. But the author's is certainly the best. Hello from Russia )
house of the rising sun {son} = house of the risen one = house of the lord = church of christ anyone else seeing different meanings behind some words lately?
This is literally number one song. Such an incredible artwork. Theres nothing i would change or improve here.

There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun It's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God I know I'm one My mother was a tailor She sewed my new blue jeans My father was a gamblin' man Way down in New Orleans Now the only thing a gambler needs Is a suitcase and a trunk And the only time he feels satisfied Is when he's on a drunk Oh mothers, tell your children Not to do what I have done Spend your lives in sin and misery In the House of the Rising Sun I've got one foot home, the platform And the other foot on the train I'm going right back on down to New Orleans To wear that ball and chain There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God I know I'm one My God I know I'm one
I like Blues version :)
Wunderbar.
Ummm! My braniac female cousin belted this out at my mother’s memorial and nailed it. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. This song always reminds me of that time with my extended family. “The cousins” as my aunt called us. We were getting along perfectly splashing about in the pond at their farm. We were in our late 50’s to the ‘30’s as a cousin group. Normally it’s not a happy time when your mother dies. But the gathering and the family cohesion and the, well, zaniness of the get- together made it doable. It really was a magical moment in a difficult time.
Wow!
One of my all time favorites, but I don't see the lyrics as the video title suggests. Is something wrong with Chrome, or is it something else?
Great voice. Effortlessly sang. A classic for the ages.
