This is like a top 10 Ye song in my opinion. Yes, it’s basically an “attack” or like a “plead”? But in a very short time we get to learn that Ye has problems with the process of seeing his kids, he has a problem with how they’re dressed, he believes that Kim could be restricting the kids from wearing Yeezy’s and dressing them in Nike as a possible slight against Ye, we learn that Ye hasn’t been able to see Chicago and is worried about who is taking care of her, and we learn/remember that Ye bought a house directly next door to Kim’s. All of this is directed at Kim, and then he seemingly switches directions and addresses the kids (in my opinion) by saying that he’s always open to having the kids: “Only neighbor in the hood with a door they can knock on, I keep the light on” “Daddy’s not gone” “Daddy’s at home” “You see the light on”. To me the whole song is perfect. The song takes us through the feelings of betrayal, frustration, constraint, disappointment, worry, and pleading. I think this song should be seen in the same light as Runaway not only because of the obvious similarities between the two, but because it’s a very important and heartfelt song about the state of Ye’s life. Im just so in love with this song
