Use the pause glitch. (When you shoot to damage a boss keep pausing and unpausing the game so the boss gets hit multiple times but idk if this works only only in the nes version)

I wouldn't say your character choice is bad. There are no straight up "bad" characters in the game that aren't worth playing. You just have to get used to how the game plays and learn a couple of bread and butter combos you can do. I would highly recommend the mission mode since it functions as the big tutorial for the game. It will explain the basics of combo structure, meter usage, as well as tips for how to deal with every character in the game.

The twitch stream section lags a lot but it wasn't lagging in my headset at the time.
