Have your local preservationists and other civic interests explored what other exterior and interior features (ex; Lobby, Ornamentation, Concessions, Restrooms, Stage Building, Etc.) besides the Facade need full restoration and upgrades? Even if the aforementioned issues must be addressed piecemeal, those can be achieved with enough community support and historical grants or tax credits. Why? Because each new successful improvement will lend support for more. Nowadays, most similar venues can not only survive but thrive with the right mix of multifaceted usage. Best Regards! "

So cool to see Guillermo del Toro himself do one of these videos for the Hollywood! Pan's Labyrinth is an amazing film. I remember seeing it when it first came out at the Harvard Exit theater in Seattle (sadly closed now), and then more recently at the Hollywood with Nick Fish (RIP) leading a post-show discussion, and it was an unforgettable experience both times.

It's a truly great movie, as is Red. Also enjoyed the witty, clever, White. Terrific recommendation. One day I'd like to see all three at a seat in the Hollywood Theatre.

The Hollwood is my home every early October so I was proud to donate towards this cause. After this happens I want to bring my parents to the theater because both of them lived in Portland in the past and probably remember it with the great facade.

I always check in and sit through a few films when flying out of PDX. I don't think many realize that the sound system is among the best in the business.

Saw The Hateful 8 Blu-ray today at home. and now wished i'd seen it at cinemas (At specialist ones that can handle 70mm of course) when it was out back in January this year. Sure hope whenever i go to the States, your place over at; Hollywood Theatre. plays such films as; Ben Hur (1959), Cleopatra, Spartacus, Lawrence of Arabia, 2001 - A Space Odyssey. Didn't know until this short trailer clip; that 1982's Tron had a 70mm print? But did know that 'The Thing' which came out the same year as Tron also has a; 70mm print which was shown in London's Prince Charles theater in Leicester square last November had one too!!!

Just saw this. Live score was amazing, really added to the film. But I have to say the picture quality left something to be desired (This digital print is not the same as the kino one, and was missing the yellowish tint that one has, but overall the kino blu-ray has much better PQ). It was mentioned that they got a dcp from the cottage grove historical society and that a DVD would be available for purchase. This makes me think that what we saw was SD content upscaled to 2K which as you can imagine doesn't look great on the Hollywoods Main screen. But I digress, This was an amazing experience overall, highly recommend anyone reading this to check it out.

Nice trailer! I am really impressed with the skills of the "kids" who made this documentary. I hope they'll find opportunities to keep pursuing their interest in filmmaking. I agree that Peninsula Park is one of Portland's best kept secrets. Kudos to all who were involved with this project! This makes me glad to pay my taxes!!!
