Post Modern architecture is Ugly.
High Renaissance has the best defination of beauty
If general public dont want to use your building, don't like your building, don't want to talk about your building you are failed as an architect.
Because they feel that it is godless, soulless, anti-human.
I do believe that the weirdness and awkwardness of "modern architecture" is part of a masterplan to confuse the minds of people and to alienate them from their tradition and make them feel uneasy. Same thing with "modern art" - Picasso and Co. in my eyes are the same criminals as Mao or Stalin, with the only difference that they did not kill people directly, but distorted the minds of the young generation. Next step was constant threats concerning "the woods are dying", "the ozon hole", "man made climate change", "more than two genders", "wokeness", "racism" and "guilt - cult". You have to see it within the whole picture, we are in full swing towards "1984" - on the other side, people are being poisoned with pornography, cheap pop - music/culture and a thousand messages via publicity, TV, smartphone which also boggle the minds and create extremly short attention spans.
Feeling happy to look at your building is also called functional otherwise, people made houses from dry animal skin too.
That is correct and regardless of effort
you smart and pretty
Good presentation of the history!
Thanks a lot for this very informative and useful video.... so, as an architect, I would strongly support the idea that says modern architecture has begun with the Industrial Revolution, specifically in the second half of the 19th century... once again, keep on making such wonderful videos ....
i have to say, I really, profoundly love modernist architecture.
look at how many wars did russia begin within last 50 years, and ask yourself do they have any architectural heritage?
thank you for the insightful and detailed explanation .as an interior designer ,what software will you advice us to study and use ?
To me it’s a cruel alternative to modernism. While modernism is just wholesale destruction, this is rot and perversion, baking the decay into the buildings themselves.
Initially, modernism in architecture was a breath-taking and exhilarating break with the past. All the clean lines, the lack of decoration seemed, well, modern. Over time, however. It came to seem that buildings were being formed by cookie cutters or turned out on assembly lines with no opportunity to differentiate them from all other buildings of the same type. So postmodernism seems to be a necessary corrective.
lol Gotta love today interior designers. Make everything look like a doctors office. White, sterile and bland.
Not me, 😊. This is hospitality/commercial design
The majority of m9dern architecture is ugly that's why more people than not hate it.
Typo, modern
Thanks
such a great video
Valllah geisteskrankes Video
All utter garbage... we need a return to traditional architecture!
Just another provocative tastles and ugly designer kitch, nothing more. Harmony, style and beauty? Forget it.
If modern architecture makes ppl depressed does that mean it fulfils its function or it doesnt?
Modern buildings are just awful . Period.
But wouldn't the endermen take it? Seems like a bad idea.
Nature can be wonderful yes we treated fair. It’s right before your eyes serious
do interior designers work like they go to the house and do the work like paint, put the couches and other things too.
Post modernism is varied and complex (sometimes just complicated for complicated sake’s to seem complex, much like many variants of modernism) so it’s hard to label everything under one name. The most important thing to come out of it was pluralism and killing off the modernist idea of a universal meta narrative. The biggest problem with PoMo was it’s comercial and ironic (borderline nihilistic at times) side, which with the economic system of the times produced in mass a lot of crap. The best things were the reaction to the modernists lack of care for the urban environment, communities and context. With it we saw the rebirth of a lot of vernacular architecture, better critical regionalism further detached from international models and the revival and acceptance of actual non-ironic classical/traditional architecture. If it wasn’t for PoMo we wouldn’t have great architects like Robert Stern.
starts at 3:50
Loved the video and would like to build a rammed earth house in Bulgaria.
I absolutely can't stand it it's so ugly and depressing
I mean, it looks better than modern architecture.
'yoko na😃
Humans do not cause climate change! So much misinformation!🙄
I agree 😊
I love the idea of "universal design." I'm reminded of trying to change my baby's diaper in a restaurant bathroom that had an awkward fold down changing table but not a single hook or surface to place the diaper bag on (besides the floor). Another time I was at a kid's party at a bowling alley and a dad needed to change his daughter's diaper but there was no changing table in the men's room. I love how this makes it clear that good design is not an us and them situation. It benefits everyone.
Some look cool to me while others look like glorified homes for Patrick Star. He knew about it when he made that sandcastle.
I loathe modern architecture it feels anti-human depressive cold and soulless. The sterilized nature of it with its lines not found in nature is just so anti-human there's no beauty in it
A happy medium is needed maybe
A nicely balanced and articulated presentation. For me, what matters most in a painting I am viewing is to what extent it engages me perceptually, viscerally, or emotionally. It doesn't matter what style of painting it is. The effect it has on me is a reflection of my inner experience, or consciousness.
so much drama just to get a roof over our heads
Deconstructionism and post modernism really sucks
ahem.. concrete, brick, glass, are all made from the earth. Just highly refined & engineered.
Music, I get because it makes me feel something. And if there’s words I’m also connecting to the message. But after watching your video, I wonder if abstract art is my country music - it’s just not for me. 🤷🏾♂️
Too bad it is a shitty Apartheid State. Free Palestine 🇵🇸❤️✌🏽
I love interior design. And appreciate those who do this design work the way foodies love chefs.

It’s a load of pretentious, hideous crap and everybody hates it. Blows my mind that this ugly garbage keeps getting built no matter how much people keep on rejecting it.
Wow, this is really well done! Thanks for the video 😁
as a minimalist I enjoy modern architecture, I understand it can be soulless for some but I think the beauty of a city comes from the interaction between the modern the old the nature and the people, Tokyo is a great example of a beautiful non pretentious city.
