When you played the two kid and killers and two kid blockers into the Yamato, you actually kind of played into his gameplan. A normal Yamato deck would have killed you with a Hody Jones, and I very rarely see Yamato not get that card so I’m gonna assume this guy wasn’t running it. Cool games.
I didn't even think about that at the time but you're totally right! Thanks for the advice. Honestly I don't run into Yamato much recently on sim and completely forgot they have access to Hody now. I'll definitely be more careful in the future! Thanks again!

Absolutely! Or 2 sanjis and the 2 law blockers. Then you keep the blocker ratio the same. Up to you depending on how either your ramp or defense is feeling.

Honestly with the sim the way it is right now I have a hard time finding those matchups in particular but I will keep hunting! What's funny is today I have a video releasing about why to run Ace but the fact that you already did shows that are definitely a man of class and sophistication! I'd be curious to see what you think about my reasoning!

@binuaz32 I legitimately feel like RP Luffy and Whitebeard are two of the hardest matchups for Law and it's partially because of that problem!
Played for the first time at my local with rob went 1/2 but dominated game one lost game two to yellow healing n 3 game was a loss from a boa dead life points bottoming my gecko
Those losses definitely check out! Yellow is tough especially if they get lucky on life and boas removal triggers are a menace! You gonna play it again?

i am sorry but that list is not it to say the least. Hody is a must-have 4of in any bonney deck, no matter if its supernova, donquixote, or any build for that matter. Also i dont like having kid and rosinante but rather have either so i have a linear gameplan. Plus I also think baby 5 searcher 4of is a must in the donquixote build. Not only for the searching but just the swings they soak are so valuable. Also hawkins and urouge are must-have 4ofs. With this decklist i am pretty certain you will lose at least 8 out of 10 games against a decent r/p law and lucci as hawkins and hody are valuable in these matchups Also kid sucks into enel because they will always keep their katakuris for it and then swing into board after
Thanks for reaching out but I think your comment is a little misplaced. This list is from a little mini series I'm doing on building a Bonney deck. I talk about it in the first video here: czcams.com/video/B0cVhIiusE0/video.html but I'm testing multiple different Bonney lines of play in the same deck to decide which I want to use in the final build. I don't completely agree with your take on the necessary cards but that's neither here nor there since really that's not what this particular video is about. However what is relevant is that while I was play testing this deck I started to notice key strategy points for different leaders. This video as the title explains is how to beat Enel. It has nothing to do with the deck list. And as your only real complaint in this regard is about the 8 drop kid being returned to life by Katakuri I can only assume you agree with the other strategy points in this video. Which I can only further imply as this video being a success since it sounds like you agree with most of it? Am I getting this wrong? As far as your deck suggestions thank you for the tips I appreciate them and will definitely consider them in the final build! Oh also it seemed like you were wondering how this deck does against law which is actually another leader I made a video about here: czcams.com/video/j-HcFRnwR0w/video.html because I ran into it often enough. @@thegoldstandardtcg hey, sorry if my comment came off as passive agressive, at the end of the day im just another guy enjoying this tcg and having his own opinions... for the rest of the strategy I have found in the enel matchup that all that counts is having a card advantage in hand. so I like starving enel players regardless of their playstyle and just playing hawkins (that cannot be removed) and essentially skipping turns if necessary. for my high drops, the first one i play out in an enel matchup is a 10c doffy most of the time regardless of what their boardstate is (of course before playing anything in this matchup you will have to make sure it can not be k.od by yamato/gedatsu). after developing that body (that they also cannot remove without raigo for a -3 life) you can start swinging into their board using hody and gain an even bigger card advantage. once they start trading back you can start chaining doffys (which is also the reason why it is hard for them to trade back into board). this is another reason why i think the baby 5 searcher is so valuable btw
Bro first of thanks for the apology I am super impressed anyone on the internet actually bothered to say. Second I was definitely a little sarcastic in mine back so I apologize for that. As far as your strategy against Enel I love some of the points you made in there! I still have trouble justifying the baby 5 searcher because really all it's looking for are those 10c doffys and feel like I draw into them pretty consistently. I do love the idea of using Hody to rest board after establishing a 10 drop especially if they are starving me. I also 100% agree that I want to run more Hodys and Basils they are essential to Bonney. In all honesty though Enel isn't the problem for Bonney I feel like it's a pretty decent matchup. The one that is brutal is any blue that runs grav blade and red roc mainly boa and obviously Lucci. Got any hot tips for either of those matchups? I like the way you think!
@@thegoldstandardtcgthese matchups are the ones I am struggling with the most right now as well. as for blue i pretty much have no experience playing against them since blue is very lightly represented in my local meta and none of my friends play blue, so sadly no tech for that. For Lucci i have yet to figure out the matchup in its entirety but hawkins is insane since it can stick (unless they play the finger pistol event) and remove 1 body per turn / pressure life. what you have to realize in this matchup is that their ressources are limited and their hand often hurts them countering out with. So really you win this matchup by stacking hawkins, playing highdrop after highdrop, swinging at their life aggressively whenever the boardstate allows for it and generating the biggest possible handsize advantage. In the end of a lot of my games against lucci it comes down to a flip with hody though, which i dislike a lot. We'll see maybe there is tech i dont know of that makes this matchup easier

Hahaha I completely agree! I try not to talk to much crap in locals about yellow because a lot of people play it but yeah so many wins come from pure luck!
I played a lot of Marco in the last 2 monthly. I think if u play the blue 5 cost ace u need namule in this deck. U need it for ur odd curve to play namule at 3 don and set up ur ace at 5 don. Otherwise u only can play the 5 cost ace combo at 7 don. And I think then this combo is too slow for the meta. All in All a really nice deck. The removal is really strong and its a lot of fun to play :D

In the last match, if you decided to go 10, 13, you could've used the Doffy first and see if he counters, that way you have blocker and don available. Great video btw! ❤️🤙🏽

Do you recommend the Baby 5 engine?
I personally don't use it because I find it a little clunky. I almost never use the baby 5 searchers I have in this build and recently I tried to swap in the 5c Bonney that freezes stuff. I've seen some high level players post their decklists with baby 5 but I can't get it to work with my play style!

I run gismonda 2c blocker to have more defence and fukurou if I can’t get my spandine
Although they played rested they still do their job as people will have to swing on them or deal with them next turn

Can i ask why there is no 5c Bonney in there? Seems like a good card to run.
Honestly it's a great card and I had it in an earlier version of the deck. For me I felt that it's usefulness falls off quickly through. Because you either play it on your 5 don turn or your 8 don turn with Rosi. After that you're at the 10 don turn and start dropping Doffys. In this current build it feels like it doesn't fit either the pace of the deck or my play style. Again though it's a great card and I'll probably experiment with playing like 2 of them in the future!

@Niqeth honestly I almost never use the baby 5 searchers and since they're both 1k counters I think you could swap two in there pretty easily. Also I totally forgot that she keeps a don rested too and now I'm rethinking her usefulness! Thanks for asking this. Now I'll definitely try her out in an updated version of this build!
No Helmeppo makes the deck kinda whack.
@releasetheyon Which cards specifically that are popular right now do you feel that having the extra -1 for removal is important? I was trying out Tsuru on this build specifically to have more 2k counters. I have some more future experiments in mind for this deck and will probably split it at 2 of each Tsuru and Helmeppo to see how that feels though.
@@thegoldstandardtcg if you remove one Sabo and 1 Tsuru and put in 2 Helmeppo, youre removal rate increases. You can get rid of Pesky 6c Boa or a 5c Blocker Kid. You would meed to waste a few more resources to get rid of stuff like that without the Helmeppos.

16:45 you want to swing first before adding new bodies against blue, they could trigger red roc or gblade and remove the body your trying to establish.

Very interesting deck. Hard to play though. You did some mistakes as well. Min 37-38 when you wanted to Lucci, you could have done it. Did you stop because of the trash? I couldn't see it
Thank you for watching all that! I've actually updated this deck a little since that video. I think it's more streamlined now and I'll make a video about soon. But yeah I made a good number of errors in this video and no I didn't play Lucci because of trash. I simply did the math wrong in my head there cause I was in a hurry! I really thought for aome reason I was only getting kid down to 3! Thanks for pointing that out though it does help!

Running more Hodys is solid but I'm seeing way more people understanding how to play against Hawkins! I used to ruin people with that card!

Hi, I am quite new to one piece and been experimenting on the opsim! Just wanted to thank you for being quite patient to explain the deck, the strategy/combo & how to deal with the different decks. It is very helpful for a beginner like me. Probably one of the better underrated channels so far! Hope it encourages you to do more videos.

I use 8 drop kid and zoro in tandem… they gotta focus kid… keep kid alive and zoro does his thing
@stanl3ydagamer I just started using kid in my Bonney 3.0 build and I love it! Which order do you typically play them in? I know it's situational but do you play zoro first and kid second usually?
@@thegoldstandardtcg the way I do it is I play kid the turn before and protect him. This will probably get rid of all my blockers to keep him up. Then following turn. If I got enough life to take life hits, I wont attack with kid and play zoro out. Should have 1 don up to stop one of his attacks with bonney’s ability. And protect from what ever hits you got. Following turn after that. If they got a gripped up hand you attack board with zoro. If their hand isn’t big swing big with zoro for the win… but youre attacking with zoro last. You attack lead, then kid then zoro with 3 don up to use his ability. If you have to attack board. Use his when attack to attack board twice and use the last one to restand him and keep him out of harms way. Set up another rosi blocker with kid’s ability and probably another block like hawkins or erouge. Erouge is nice cause you get that 1 don active.

I know bro I really tried! I ran into one Lucci making this and he quit out instantly! Even now I'm filming the third part and still have the tech in the deck but haven't seen any Luccis. I was hoping if I put it up at least it's out there for people to try!

Those can definitely be tough match ups! Right now the sim is in a weird place where both OP7 and OP8 are being played in the Eastern part so it's hard to find these match ups. I'm going to do a follow up video at some point with my new updated deck but in the meantime I have RP Law gameplays a least in these two videos. What about the black yellow luffy matchup?
That can be tough if they draw into lots of the kid brothers but the general concept to beat luffy goes like this. Because he does a lit of the work for you taking his own life to get his ability online you really only need one sometimes two really good attacks to go through end game. So knowing this you need to set the stage by forcing counter out of their hand. Issho can do this but a really effective way I've found is attack into their board on things you know you'll remove anyway. A lot of the time they'll pitch counter to save it out of habit and then they have less to save themselves late game. If you can starve them in anyway that helps too and then finally use your blockers effectively! I hope this helps and when I run into more of these popular decks I'll make another video!

I think the zombie luffy is a bit much but the brook is a decent choice if you know you're gonna run into a lot of Luffys at locals. If there aren't a lot of people playing it though I wouldn't tailor the deck towards that too much because another big problem luffy has is that it bricks fairly often. It really needs specific cards to function a full strength!
@@thegoldstandardtcg issho is the best bet. 5c luffy sucks since it needs so many things to also go your way in that matchup. and a good BY luffy player will likely just remove it anyways
Nice deck man. I’m planning on building this as my first deck. What are your thoughts on stussy? A lot of lists seem to drop her and I haven’t had a ton of value with her. How should I be using her? Also, I keep milling my bombs like issho and gecko, any advice on that? I think I’m using my leader ability too much? Thanks for the video!
@rileyethier1626 Hey I am going to do a follow up video here in a few days about my recent deck changes because it's a little different from this one. I like Stussy a lot though and in particular against Enel or even Katakuri for getting rid of some of their top end. You could definitely get away with running only one though as she is super situational. When people lose their 10 drops immediately after playing them they lose momentum almost instantly!

Hey man! I'm new to OPTCG and trying out decks before buying one in paper. What changes would you make to remove the 8c Sabo from the deck? I find myself not getting a ton of value out of the top end cards in the deck with few copies (Issho, Stussy, Sabo). I usually end up trashing them with Lucci's effect and then I can't fetch them because they're out of Rebecca's range.
I think it depends on your local scene a little bit. If there are a lot of other Lucci players you could sub in the 7c Jack depending which set you're playing in. But another that I am playing with right now someone pointed out in here is the 5c hogback to recycle Moria.
Rebecca, Spandine, Lucci combo is 🤌🏻

37:45 Why can't you Tsuru Lucci. You said you did the math wrong but Kid is a 5c so with Leader ability + Tsuru that is a total of -3 putting Kid to 2. Then Queen is a 1c searcher. You could easily had cleared both characters.

You forgot to swing w big sabo game 1 😅 probably would have been not as close if you got that swing in and you could have lethaled the turn you had 4c lucci 5c sabo lucci leader on board

I completely agree! Marco is so close to being amazing but you kind of have to high roll! When he's cookin' though it's a blast! I'm hoping he gets more support in the future!

Yes Borso for the mirror is absolutely necessary now! I don't know why no one is running it! Sabo you could go to 3 and probably still be fine. Rebecca you absolutely need 4 of! I feel like the best you could get it down to is 8 instead of 9.

I definitely feel like Issho you could cut without a second thought. I honestly have him because I think the card art looks cool and I'm just trying to make him work somewhere! You could also cut Stussy to one and probably be fine but I have won several games dropping Stussy to remove 10 drop Kaidos and Doffys. Also she is clutch against Enel! 4 Geckos and 2 Sabos are must haves though!
You Could have the Chance to kill the 7c big mum. Using spandine to get a kaku 4c on Board and do -3, then -1 By Leander and then 5c kaku to pop the big mum
