I just cut the top part out too and run the air line right to the air stone. Easier to do.

Spot on about bare tanks being wrong. But then how can you say no varied diet so proudly? Sure they can get by with the same food every day just like they cam get by with no decor. But a varied diet provides enrichment just like decor provides enrichment. Get over your fear of frozen foods, that is such a ridiculous fear. Frozen foods are safe and millions of people use them every day with no problems.

Thank you very much Anthony Big hugs from Malta. I just modified one little sponge filter as I have some Angelfish wiggles and i actually wanted to put an air stone as well in the little tank, but I don't have an extra air pump so this way it seems I did both. Thank you again! :)

When im at my darkest, and no one to turn to for sponge filter air stones, you are there to save the day.🫡 I have a >10 gallon sponge filter from Aquaneat i just bought, and they have zero air stones to use in the filter. I ended up buying top fin air stones from petsmart hoping that they would, but they arent compatible with other sponge filters.i followed your directions, and i also had to cut out the bottom part that anchors to the weight, but it worked afterwards!! Thank you so much🙂

Air has 02 in it and every living thing needs oxygen to survive fact .so adding more air into a tank does add 02 into the tank .I have big powerfully air pumps on my tanks nothing less than 4 outlets most are 12 outlets pumps that run 2 ,4foot tanks 90 cm bubble bars ,30cm air stones ,wave makers , 4 lge sponge filters and a 2.000 ltr canister pumps to every tank .also if you point your wave maker to the surface of the water angled to one side.it will actually work in a circular motion that.will shift the wast food and poop inthe direction of the canister.pump and sponge filters that keep the tanks cleaner at the bottom of the tanks . And think about what happens when the power goes out how do the fish react they come to the surface of the tank for oxygen

And air bubbles also breaks the surface tension to also add air.into a tank and wave makers acts the same way it breaks r the surface tension

Yep. The thing is I've learned the harsh lesson. Not choosing Hikari pellets for my fishes. All those available at the market Dried, live, and a good plastic representation of fish food. Ugh gave me a lot of stress. Fish dying, SBD, left n right, And then i switched to hikari. Boom all gone. I bought a flowerhorn buy 1 take 1. And sell the other one. After two weeks of hikari. My flowerhorn heads grow big. And the other one that i sold. Is not as big and colorful and he used various idk. Enhancers stuff and kok enhancers that don't make any difference 😂

I had a tank get green water and I tried everything people suggested and it didn't work. Did a black out for 3 days, stopped giving my water fertilizer, stopped feeding my fish so much, turned my lights down, turned the hours it's on down, turned off the moon light, been doing 50% water changes, checked my parameters, and so on. Within 2 days it's back to pea soup I can hardly see through. So I got a green killing machine too. Shows up tomorrow. If this doesn't fix it I don't know what to do.

I did this to both my sponge filters and i'm going to be buying new ones. I noticed that will the air stone it wasn't catching uneaten fish food like it was before I cut the air diffuser out.

Very informative video....just bought my first flowerhorn this week! I agree about the filtration aspect. I keep HOB filters on all my aquariums, even with my 125 central American fish and they are just fine
