Randy Lanham here. Glad to help. Many people do hold it wrong without even knowing. It is so natural to bend your wrist or not hold it in the right spot in your hand. It really does help your fingers get around the fingerboard easier when you are holding it correctly.

Old guy here. I consider myself an intermediate guitar player. I just ordered myself a used violin off Reverb and was surfing beginner videos on youtube while I wait for it to come. Good lesson. I hope you continue to make videos like this. subscribed.

very good! opened youtube this afternoon and found this channel. the overhead camera shot showing finger placement and the tapping foot were excellent. ive seen many videos where the instructor is attempting to show this difficult view. Yours knocks it out of the park. The finger placement at the bottom of the video and the repetition of the lines themselves was great too. dont know if ill sign up for classes just yet. but appreciate the thought out video as an instructional tool.
