    I had it done permanently. I had two major back surgery, but this was the worst experience in my life. The pain was terrible. I ended up in the emergency room. Had pinched nerve, but that pasted. I kept the stimulator in my back for a year. I ended up not using it because of the discomfort it caused. I just had it removed this month. I am so happy that it worked out for this man. As he said, it doesn't work for everyone! I experience the bad and ugly, not the good.

Not just patients but procedures as well. I am C-2 to S-1 compromised. Having cervical surgery but Stim for lower. My goal is to get off of the morphine and be able to walk more than 50 feet and stand for more than 5 minutes. I have 1 grandchild and enjoy my time with her. I understand that this is only a band aid and not a fix but if it gives me 10-15 years of being able to do things with her before surgery I am hoping it works. Nothing else has.

    This is a great video sir. I've been dealing with chronic back pain since I was 27. I had a spinal fusion at L5-S1 in 1993. That wasn't the answer. At this point, I try to stay as active as possible and just deal with the pain. I try not to do anything stupid but sometimes every day life as a man presents challenges that we need to face and complete. I just finished up my one week trial on July 2nd. I believe it was successful and am in referral for the permanent implant. Do you feel like you can push-mow your grass, weed whack with a feather lite weed whacker? Do you feel like you could play 9 holes of golf using a golf cart? Do you feel like you could bowl 3 games with a 15 pound bowling ball? These are all of the activities I've been doing for many years but have done so with different levels of pain over the last 35 years. I went to pain management a year ago because of a very bad episode with months of back and leg pain. Tried a couple of injections with no relief. My insurance denied the MILD procedure at L3-L4 through 4 different appeals. So this is where I'm at. My goal with this SCS is to be able to do all of my household chores and continue with my hobbies like golf and bowling in less pain. Do you feel you can do these things? Thanks in advance.

As for me, my back is ruined (whole body impairment in my back) therefore I already before my implantation. I had a laundry list of restrictions ie. Lifting, twisting, etc. as for yard maintenance, I have a riding mower, I was cleared to ride it at 1 mo post op. I have a very lightweight battery powered weed eater. I’m able to use it with very minimal pain. It doesn’t begin to hurt until I’m using it past 30 mins. I tried to bowl but it caused me pain swinging the ball (all the body motions). I’m not a golfer so I can’t really speak on how it feels. Household chores are not a problem for me. It depends on if I’m having an arthritis or neuropathy flare up. Other than that, I have more good days than bad days, today my joint pain is a 1. If it makes you feel better, I am a member of Spinal Cord Stimulator Success Stories on fb. I have seen posts where ppl have resumed their normal life post op, going back to work, hiking, traveling, etc. so anything is possible with this system. It solely amounts to our individual bodies, what we have been through, type system you’re getting, how well they program you, how long it takes for the rep to hit that trouble spot & how your body responds to it. As long as you follow the doctors orders & give yourself time enough to heal properly, you’ll be fine. I strongly believe that adverse reactions are attributed to getting up, moving too soon and moving the wrong way too sudden. Results will vary from person to person.

Here we are, nearly four years later and I feel great. Just a little arthritis but other than that I see more good days than bad days. Before this arthritis flare up, I was pain free since March 2024

I’ve been pain free since spring started. At the worse I get breakthrough joint pain and arthritis during the colder months. Other than that, so far good

    Hey Alabama’s finest! So I had my scs implanted 6 days ago! I feel pretty good! Unfortunately, I have this constant pain in my left side of my surgical sight! It’s in one spot and has hurt since the day of surgery! Did you experience anything like this? I can’t find anything on this!

      @MySCSStory Před 2 měsíci

      @@kelliboone3755 thanks for watching and for sharing your experience with us. I did have some surgical site pain for about two weeks but I didn’t have any complications with my incisions. If anything, have someone (at home) look at your incisions, make sure there aren’t discolored, oozing nor emitting any foul odors. Have them take a pic for you so you can see it. If you’re concerned, you may want to reach out to your doctor’s office.

    Just found your channel. Let me start by saying I'm so happy to hear this has worked for you. I very much appreciate you putting your thoughts and information out on your channel. I had a microdiscectomy at L1 L2 back in 2021. Still taking way too many medications including pain meds because of my back. I'm tired physically and mentally of being in pain all the time. It wears on me and I know it does my family. I'm looking at this Spinal Stimulator. Your videos are a huge source of information and help to me. Respects, Tim

I’ve moved to a new program, I can feel hunger pains and my weight is slowly gaining. My target weight is 200lbs. I currently weigh 182lbs. Up from 178

    Hey, I've been fused twice. I just commented on your last video suggestion if you are considering it. I had fractured a vertebrae and had my first fusion in 2007. Just recently had cervical fusion in my neck. I could tell you the one in 2007 was a lot rougher than the neck. Something that helped me out majorly was having your recliner some sleeping, throwing your legs off of the bed and having to wait tug on the hardware will make you want to put your hand through the wall. I don't know anybody who goes through that surgery. You have to be a different person. It is medieval

    • @MySCSStory
      @MySCSStory Před 2 měsíci

      Hey hey Mongo 👋 how are you and thanks for watching. When you get reprogrammed again, inquire about how do your program settings work. I’m sure that they can control the frequencies and lock them in so you can go from 1-7. “If” they can setup your frequencies, ask for the same coverage zone @ tell them to give you low frequency therapy 40Hz/40 pulses and pulse width of 240. The amplitude “in your case” is 1-7. Mine can go higher. I hope this is possible to accomplish with Nervo. This program feels so soothing right now. It’s not strong, it’s juuust right.

      Happy that you’re feeling better. In my case, I was using a particular setting that curved my appetite and I lost like 60lbs in the course of nearly 4 years. After trying a different program, I got better coverage and I was able to feel hungry. I went from 230 to 179. Weighed myself a week ago & I gained 5 lbs. trying to get back to 200lbs by Aug. my PCP is driving me nuts with all these test trying to figure out why I lost so much weight.

      @MySCSStory Před 2 měsíci

      My unit is by Boston Scientific so our settings are different. I highly recommend that you check out my video about programming and then request for programming. I get the best results running my program at 24.7%: 6.6mA pulse width 240 units at a pulse rate of 40Hz. I’ve told my rep to target everything from my leads to the sole of my feet and with the above settings, I’ve been using that program for nearly a year and I’ve been mostly pain free for months. Inquire about a low frequency program that covers the same area as mine does if yours is for back/lumbar/legs/feet. Based on those who comment about other units, they typically take a while to find the right setting that works. Hopefully you can get some relief. My trial felt so good I had the rep that programmed my trial program my permanent implant. And that helped too
