Spending two days in Kruger solo camping and I'm talking you with me! I had some great sightings in a short amount of time, seeing all the big five and wild dogs, plus the beautiful antelopes and general game. Big thanks to Jona Bolten for the awesome editing! This is such a good photo!
gorgeous images :)
I left South Africa 10 years ago for the UK, but I think of home almost every day.
Ser bra ut Karolina!
Very nice work. Hard to say if the Zebras or the Leopard in the tree is my favorite. Again beautiful work. Wouldn't mind seeing a vid on the nine photos & how you decided to put them together if you feel like doing so.
Thanks very much glad to hear! That’s not a bad idea, will keep that in mind!
Beautiful prints - you have such a great eye for composition! The leopard in the tree and the kudu are my favorites! Can you please share where you get the aluminum and fine art prints printed? Thanks!
Great video!
Really great video!
Amazing pictures and great video! I’m really glad that CZcams told me to watch this video. Had to subscribe. I will watch all of your videos.
Thanks so very much, appreciate that a lot!
Just found your channel! Your work is so amazing.
Thank you so much really appreciate it!
Amazing prints 😍
Thank you!
Excellent photos Karolina 👏🏻great video 👍
Thanks very much!
absolutely beautiful photos karolina! the compositional shot of the leopard in the tree is i think my favorite, just like it is yours. i remember you telling us about it on our klaserie workshop and showing us the editing process! the first two i know the practically real-time stories from instagram about how you got them and they are gorgeous too, but so are the serengeti lions with the beautiful landscape! you are just extremely talented and creative, and for me personally the best wildlife photographer out there, my biggest inspiration, roll model & teacher, there’s no question about it!
Oh thank you so much for those kind words Scuba, really appreciate it! 🙌🏽
You have such a nice channel, hope your subscribers will grow fast. Really good camera bag video, I hate when creators don't show how gear fits in the backpack, it's the best part!! It'd be nice to see other gear videos from you. Greetings from Italy!
Thanks so much for these kind words really appreciate it! And this motivates me to keep going 😄
You keep saying "R5" which as a Canon shooter I found confusing.
Hahah sorry there’s more types of R5s 😂
Is it raining in your nose?
Excuse me?

Hey! Loved this video!! Was just wondering what hot shoe phone mount that is??
Hi! Thanks very much! This one is from a brand called Puluz 😊
CHECK OUT HEIPI 3-in-1 Travel Tripod IT IS VERY CLOSE TO THE PEAK DESIGN, BUT MORE ADAPTABLE, IT CAME OUT AFTER I GOT MY PEAK DESIGN.
Hi Karolina, nice video, thanks. I am a big Peak Design fan and backed a number of their Kickstarter campaigns including the travel tripod. However, that is the one Peak Design item I cannot recommend. It does fold nice and compact but it is not stable enough particularly with the lowest segment extended. The peculiar cross section shape of the legs may be good for compactness but not for flexural stiffness, which is key to tripod stability. I sold mine (carbon version) about a year ago. Cheers, Urs
Hi! Thanks very much for letting me know highly appreciate the advice. Is there another tripod that small and lightweight for travel that you recommend? :)
I had high hopes in the Benro Theta, but they took a number of wrong decisions at the end of the campaign and I will try to get my Kickstarter pledge refunded. I opted for the Max version. With Theta no longer being a viable choice I look into established brands like Gitzo, RRS, Promedia Gear, perhaps also FLM. Peak Design probably wins the compactness/lightweight competition on all accounts though, if that goes on cost of stability it is not a good compromise for me. That does depend on use case though. The PD will certainly fair better than your current super cheap tripod. Cheers, Urs
I had the Sony 200-600mm 5.6-6.3 G Lens, I sold it because it is a bit too big and heavy for hiking and sometimes there was trouble with the stabilizer system in combination with the cameras IBIS which led to slightly blurred images. Now I got the Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens, which is very compact and Light weight, no trouble hiking for hours just holding it in your hands, I can recommend the Sigma.
Hi, nice purchase the Sigma. Doesn't bother you cannot use 1,4x and 2x tc? Have you tried it with Sony tc or have you just switch to L mount? I thought it was the perfect 200-600 substitute, now I think I have to buy the 300 2.8, but double the price
@@ph_anto No it does not bother me, I would not use teleconverters anyway ! I needed I crop from 61 megapixels, I still have 26 megapixels in APSC mode and that I can also crop from. I thought o buying the Sony 300mm 2.8, but then the Sigma 500mm 5.6 was announced and I ordered it. The Sony 300mm 2.8 is double the price plus teleconverters ! It is a mess to use teleconverters. I am happy with my choice of the Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens, I have used it a lot since March, it is very easy to use and you can hike with it in your hands for a long time without problems. About 300mm, sometimes I use my Sony 135mm 1.8 GM as a "300+mm", just cropping from 61 megapixels, still very sharp images !
@@cameraprepper7938 That's what I thought. I would use it with A7RV or A1 with crop mode, but with 200-600 and 300+2x in apsc I'd still have 900mm, with Sigma only 750. Due to centuries of unregulated hunting, here in Italy mammals and birds are very shy and millimeters are never enough. Anyway, thanks for your report!
I use pretty much the same camera gear and love it. My current backpack is the Lowepro tactical BP 350 AW II, which is great, but doesn't carry any extra, it doesn't even have side netting pockets for water bottles which still surprises me. I have extra tactical pouches, but they can fall off. Would love to know how much the fully laden backpack weighs in this video weighs, it looks awesome ❤
Thanks! I haven't actually weighed the fully packed backpack, but think its around 12kg in total :)
Please keep going your videos, I found this video very informative.
Thank you that's great to hear and definitely motivates me to make another one!
Man do I hate human beings sometimes, but you guys are just fantastic !!!
Much to heavy equipment .... and with my OM-SYSTEMS equipment I have lighter portable equipment with 3 cameras (OM-1 , E-M1X , E-M1II) 6 lenses 300mm f4 pro , 150-400 F4.5 Pro , 12-40 F2.8 Pro , 40-150 F2.8 Pro , 2 teleconverter 1.4 and 2.0 , and lens 7-14mm pro f2.8 Pro , and a 17mm f 1.8 for night . I am not a pro but I travel with this kit for years and put it in a Peak Design Bag. and Cube medium for the big lens and the cube large other lenses. In the bag chargers , big Garmin (street nav) , DJI Copilot 2TB , and a 10.5 inch iPad Pro. The cubes I can take out during the trip in the car so easy to separate . SD card holders are much too big for me... ! By the way all goes with me during the flight in the overhead storage . OM-System has no problems with dust .. even not during weeks in Kalahari .
what is your social links and how does one contact you for photographic safaris
Hi! My instagram is karolinanoreewild and you're welcome to contact my on karolina@noree.se for photographic safaris or check out my workshops on my website karolinanoree.com :)
How much does the full bag weigh?
Is the bag to big for a carry-on ?
No it's perfect size for carry on :)
Thanks - Does the Shimoda cube have a frame and keep its shape or is it quite soft/malleable?
It's a very sturdy frame, which keeps everything in place :)
Excellent overview
Nice video and bag! 👍🏻🇸🇪 do y have a homepage? Undrar..
Hej! Tack vad kul :) Min hemsida är karolinanoree.com
My gear is much like yours. The main kit consists of two A7R5 cameras and the 24-70 GM II and the 70-200 GM II. For travel I use two A7CR cameras and a 16-35 PZ and the 70-200 f4 G II with 1.4x teleconverter. My wildlife lens is the 200-600 G. But, the 300 GM is very tempting. Pelican case for Sony Tough, Lexar, and ProGuard cards. Tenba DNA messenger bags. A small laptop with two Samsung SSD drives when I travel. And various accessories.
nice
I have just seen your video and love it. I do wildlife photography for a long time and you are the first wildlife photographer I meet who is using exactly the same sony gear I personally use. Even the memory cards are the same. I am very happy with my sony lenses and the sony autofocus especially .I have also stopped using the sandisc drives and switched to samsung drives recently because they are more reliable! My camera bag is different and I will have a look at yours. If you want to purchase a new tripod I can recommend the Rollei Easy Traveller Tripod for you. It is very light and stable. The Peak design Tripod is too expensive for my taste. I have lived in Paarl SA for a few years and I am back in Germany for the time being. I know that certain things are difficult to get in SA. I am looking forward to your next video.
Hi! Thanks so much so glad to hear! That's wonderful that you shoot with the exact same gear as me, such great cameras and lenses for wildlife photography. Appreciate the tripod recommendation as well, will definitely have a look at it!
It all fits, but what does it weigh? My issue has never been fitting all my gear in a bag which fits in the overhead, but many airlines have very restrictive weight limits on carry on weight.
Absolutely, but that comes down to the gear you pack, not the bag. I have never had an issue with weight for flights packing like this though :)
@@karolinanoreewildWhat does your bag weigh? I'm willing to bet it's over 7kg. If so, there are airlines (Quantas and many smaller commuter or "in country" airlines that have very strict limits. Normally that limit is 7kg.
You will not have enough battery’s even for the day I am betting.
The battery has lasted me perfectly fine on all my travels so far, sometimes several days :)
Hej hopp, Karolina! Seems like a very capable bag. Can it take a 400mm prime across, or would you need to stuff it in like your zoom lens? (Meaning it would give you a shift of center of gravity to the side rather than having it down low.)
Hi! Haven't tried it with the 400mm prime, so can't tell you unfortunately. However, on Shimodas website, I believe they have a list of which lenses fit into the different inserts :)
@@karolinanoreewild Sweet! Will have to check that. 👍
No Nikon gear?!? I’m offended! Bara skämtar. 🤪 I’d love to go on a safari but I just know I wouldn’t be ok in the heat. lol
Haha, nej bytte till Sony för snart ett år sedan :D For anyone else who is worried about the heat on safari; go in the winter time instead! Winter in Kruger (May-Sep) is fantastic because the temperatures are super comfortable (think Swedish spring) with chilly mornings and evenings and nice 20ish temps during the day. Also the best time of the year for big cats ;)
I'm 1 minute in and so excited.....the Shimoda Action X40 v2 is the bag I've been looking at since they released and being I shoot wildlife and weddings, with almost the exact set up (A7rV, A7III, Sony 200-600, + Tamron 35-150) I have a feeling you're gonna show me exactly how perfect this bag is.
Oh thats so great to hear! Yes the Shimoda X40 has been absolutely fantastic! Covers all my needs and amazing quality and attention to detail! Remember the code NOREE10 gives you 10% off ;)
