I've been on my course since 07. Pay was mid until I got promoted to supervisor. Hard work, man. Now that I'm the mechanic without training and dude who aerates, it's often times a real chore. We mostly employ elders to work part time to mow, so my equipment operating time is almost nill. But, I love my course.

Somebody hired a 65 year old guy to mow fairways (me). I like the big machine. I love the sunrise. I love the wildlife. No a fan of my alarm clock going off at 5 am, but small price to pay.

You are well ahead of the curve doing these videos it's a shame to see you stop. Finding a club and super thats willing to let you record behind the scenes I imagine is not easy, especially while still trying to progress you're career and position. Most clubs want to hide behind the scenes I'd imagine. Shame to see you stop posting though.

Rolling greens and spinning bunkers are my favorite things to do. Probably because they're the easiest 😂

What's the differentiation for using the walk-behind greens cutter and the riding mower?

I'm currently working at Timberstone Golf Course in rural Caldwell, Idaho. It's the 9th course I've been employed at in the vocation ( unofficial) of golf course maint. Fairway John does a good job of showing a typical day in the life of a g.c.m. worker. Going back to what I implied by saying ' unofficial ' vocation, to explain I'll say I've never found any official listing in any governmental registry as regards this type of work. You know, plumbers, electricians, etc. Veddy interesting.😮

It seems like it aint just mowing if you can do all tasks. I love grass. Weed that is. 😂

Many landscaping companies have female crews that weed and do spot chem treatment. I call them flower power

I never work with music unless I'm just walking. Machinery is dangerous, and music is a distraction

I mow ponds and fields while managing at an HOA neighborhood with a 10 man crew. This guy does it wrong. He has them working on top of each other instead of phases. You can work a spot untill the last group is done. He rushes the work instead of proper staging of tasks. Lots of "hurry up, and wait"

Go to the camping isle for a 1 gallon dewars flask. It keeps ice for 3 days. I fill with ice and dump in hot drinks to chill. I did an almost 24 hour shift if you count the nap. Two 17hr shifts, and i couldn't do any more for a few hours

I mow 8 hours a day with a 30 min break, and manage the backyard section of an HOA neighborhood. I mow ponds, fields, and anywhere that needs open cut. I keep moving, and know how to stripe with the full width of a deck, not the old wheel ruts from the 64 that used to do it. This is a 72. Its rated at 7acre per hour at 8mph. I tried it, and unless its a golf green, you better slow down. The steep slope is also a problem at the pond with the saturation level of the clay soil. There are some really swampy sections between houses. The whole neighborhood has poor drainage

I would much prefer letting members relax on my lawn Vs HOA karen standing on the back porch while I mow the pond slope

One of my biggest bitches is people that live around a golf course. All these Karens who complain about the noise, complain on water hitting their wall, complain that a ball hit their house but don't put up a net.... They are no better then people that move next to a pig farm and then complain about the smell...

Man, I wish our course provided lunch. Usually I have to carry mine with me on the mower and eat somewhere out on the back 40...

In my experience the tees won’t hurt the mower but will probably tear up the green a bit
