Hiking. Camping. Being a Dad. I am documenting my Son's journey of becoming an Adirondack 46er. Night started in 2017 at age 6 and has climbed 24 of 46 thus far. I became a 46er in 2016. I wish I had my journey on video. I want to remember and relive all of the fun times spent hiking and camping with my kids. My Daughter Hazel is 5 years old. I want them to have videos to look back on of their adventures with Dad. I want them to realize how strong they are and appreciate the beauty of nature. Once Night completes his 46, Hazel will be at climbing age. If she is interested, I'll definitely be doing a 3rd round with her! She is already a huge fan of Nature, Music, & Animals and has a huge heart. Subscribe and come along for the journey!
I'm a huge fan of being outside and enjoying life and nature. Life is short, live it while you can. Sun, rain, wind, sleet or snow... Get outside today!

The outer diameter of 3/4” pvc is 1.05”. A 3/4x3/4x3/4 pvc t would have worked better.
Where is that little waterfall area and swimming hole? (35 minutes in) Looks awesome. I’ve been there a bunch but have never seen that. Thank you. Wait- is that back by the trailhead at Trout Pond?
Wow! Setting the bar for canoe setups I see. I think I will model mine after yours!
Are you going to take it in saltwater I have a 14 ft and I like your set up
Thank you, I am not because I am very far from salt water. I'm not sure how salt affects trolling motors.
You have the motor mounted backwards . When trolling wrap a small paracord or rope around the tilt lock and shaft to hold it against the shaft and put a half hitch on it, it’s just wise it the case you might hit something your motor will kick up instead of breaking off or damaging something , it Also has locking positions to adjust the motor depth by tilting it up ward vs sliding the shaft up or down ,to be used only if ya get in a bind and run up on a sandbar or reef ,looking good , great job !
Thank you for those pointers! I will use them all.
more aluminum foil lol
Yeah I never do foil packs and my buddy is an eagle scout, he was wondering wth I was doing also haha. His idea on the packs, I was just trying to be busy and helpful to no avail. Hey it was delicious though
AWG stands for American Wire Gauge, not Alll Weather. It refers to the size of the conductors.
Thank you!
haha, the kid is doing better than my $500 dollar metal detector 😄
Haha! What a constructive way to clean up debris.
That is my best friend
Take a nother pice of pcv.pipe of a smaller are other pice of pipe smaller diameter and slide it between the two pieces that you wear taking about in 10 minutes into the video then drill a hole. Trow the two pieces of pipe to connect the pieces together i think would work better then felling the gap with. Glue are something in such. Hope you understand what I mean great ideal on they way you are going your project was looking throw videos on CZcams for ideals on how to add Is stabilizers to my Canoe and ran apond your video. Think on going with this thanks for shearing stay save on the water God bless
The absolutely worst maintained trails in the US.
I can't argue with you. But sometimes amazing sometimes suck. Luck of the draw
Ya need guinea hens..
For my yard I have mosquito victory which do a great job and no mosquitos or ticks on me or the dogs but man if I go for a walk in a nearby trail, different story.
On the "T", use one that necks down to a smaller diameter on the end that fits into the pole....
Good job
Turn motor around don't snap it if u run into something it needs too be able to pop up
excellent job
Thank you, still enjoying taking it out
@@DeMarcheAdventures I have a 15.6 canoe that is INCREDIBLY tippy when 3 adult men are in it. Its fine with two but with three we almost fell over a bunch of times. Do you think this would help to stabilize us three?
@@marchfifth1754 100% YES! never worry about tipping again. I even can dive out of it, swim, and pull myself back up into it no problem.
@@DeMarcheAdventures Awesome, thank you so much! I am going to make this next week.
What type of camera did you use to do this video and what is it attached to? I'm going on the weekend! Thanks
Hi Micah, it is just a go pro. I used a chest mount.
@@DeMarcheAdventures I just figured it out lol. Do you remember how much the cost is to rent? I’m looking online and Best Buy and I’m wondering if it’s worth it to buy one
They had some entire kit that was expensive and I don't remember what the exact cost was, but they ended up selling me one for ten bucks. It was a knock off and not go pro but I was extremely happy. You're going to have a ton of fun.
@@DeMarcheAdventures wait a second. They sold you a knock off camera and kit for $10?
@@micahwells6354 no just the chest mount, sorry. I thought you were thinking of buying a chest mount and not entire set up.
Why wouldn't u put the battery behind the back seat by the motor? HELLO!!
Hello! Too much weight in the back with me back there along with the motor and mount. Especially if I'm solo. With my kid up front it helps a little but with the heavy battery up front, it helps tremendously with balance and smoother maneuvering. Thank you for your comment.
I am using C clamps to avoid drilling into my canoe.
God bless Rhodesia and Ian Smith and Cecil Rhodes!
Thanks for the video. I'll be heading up to Old Forge next weekend with some friends, first time there. It's nice to see what we can expect riding on the trails.
It's an awesome place, make sure to check out daikers and slickers.
Thanks for sharing this. I don't know you all but I've been dropping by since Ausible Canyon. I guess I'm living vicariously through you all. I enjoy much of what you share. Mike in PA
Thanks Mike! Im not a big channel obviously, so it's really nice to see a comment like this. I'm glad you enjoy some of the videos, I know I throw some odds and ends in there sometimes.
@@DeMarcheAdventures Some of those odds and ends have some surprising surprises. Like that meet and greet a couple of years back. In case you don't hear it much, you and your wife are doing an excellent job with the kids. Yeah, treasure these times. I'm proud of you both. (Says some unknown guy on the internet. lol.)
@@mealsome9668 I really appreciate that, coming from a "random guy on the internet" is more valuable than someone closer who is expected to say that. Thank you. Some of the videos I post so that the kids can watch them when I'm long gone. I should have a winter hiking trip coming up next month.
Hah I thought the same thing Cuz that you were gettin pretty full when you were dumping the beans in.
Haha thanks for watching Cuz. I changed my battery so much in the cold that i think the external mic cord was loose. I think that was crap go pro audio. Sounds okay on phone but muffled on my tv.
Always cuz like I’ve said before it’s like I’m hangin out with you when I watch it. Also good to see the kids and how big they’re getting!
Very nice place. It's funny how the word " au sable " was changed to be pronounce ausable. It comes from the river au sable that runes trough ny state. Roughly translated, it means the sand river. So in fact the chasm should be called the sand chasm
Going for these in December. Thanks
Awesome, always a good time.
Cool video. I love ridgebacks and I'm considering getting one. Can I ask how much exercise they need each day?
In a perfect world id walk them 3 miles a day but as long as you let them run around a bit they can go hard and get tired out in a half hour. Most of the time they are couch potatoes. They are great dogs.
Great stuff as always Cuz!
Thanks man!
Means a lot to me that you watch my vids cuz. I know we live far apart but I'm glad you can be a part of it just by watching. We need to do another snowmobile trip! Your brother didn't know how much I loved him. I never really told him so I want you to know. You're a special dude. Love you cuz
I love watching your vids Cuz cause like you said I can share albeit from a distance in watching your family grow. I can’t believe how big the kids are getting. Even the new pup is getting so big lol. Yes let’s plan another trip! That was such a great weekend. Jon used to tell me he loved when you and Night would come to visit him when he was sick. That meant a lot to him. So talk to your brother and let’s see if we can’t get something planned on the books for a possible trip up north. Love you to cousin!
8 looked like it had a nicer beach to hang out on
Definitely! It's not an island so prob more bear activity, but I'm eyeing that one for the dogs next time.
Great stuff as always Cuz! I lmao when you said you forgot the cornhole bags 😂
Man that part sucked! haha

Thanks for this video. How long does the Adventure trail takes and the whole tour including the float and walk back?
Thanks for watching, glad that you enjoyed it. Id say 3 hours maybe? In shape you could do the course in 45 min no problem but if you have others in front of you, could take an hour and a half. The float was about 45 min to an hour as well. The line to get on was longer than the ride when I went. All well worth it imo.
Awesome dogs. Have a happy time with them. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are the best 👌
Thank you! Im a bit nervous taking him for the first time. He's 3 now and they can do 30 miles a day in the desert. So he should be fine. It's a 3.5 hour car ride and 5 mile hike in to the campsite. Then hopefully at least 2 high peaks. They are long with some tough terrain. Many take their dogs though. We shall see how he does carrying his own food in his new backpack. Fits nice and he seems to not be bothered by it.
@@DeMarcheAdventures He should be fine. A bit of tune up exercise in the days before will help so he doesn'thave sore muscles the next day. But they have endurance like no other breed.
@@memeguyTM ive run 3 miles with him a few times this week. Thanks for the info!
Nice set up; where did you get those folding seats??? They look like the ticket for longer-trips-made-easy!!
I think Amazon "canoe seats". I however needed to buy the extension straps to make them longer as the seats are thick plastic. If you have the normal flat canoe seats, you won't need the extensions. I also am going to put a bar or something behind mine as id like some more support to lean back.
You have the motor on backwards ???
No, but some say i have the boat backwards. It may not look it but the spacing front and rear is exactly the same
@@DeMarcheAdventures the motor should point towards that back when it is up. Not towards the front of the CANOE. Flp the Bolts holding motor to other side of the board. For Dam sake what does a motor look like when it's on a big boat. Enjoy LMFAO 😂😂
@@steveneddy9492 haha well it came like that. I didn't mess around with the bolts. Ill play around with it and see what I can do.
@@steveneddy9492 so I just spun it around and did it the right way.. The only thing I don't like is that I get a lot of aquatic plants stuck in the blades and when I crank it forward I can easily clear it out. When it goes back I can't reach it and have to use an oar to clear the seaweed. Good catch though, you're the first to notice in 50k views. Not sure why but this is the most viewed video.
*We have taken it out twice so far and love it **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it only takes 5 mins to inflate. Seats are comfortable, kayak handles well. We love it so far!!*
Amazing video. So appreciate because I am super scared of heights. I cannot even zip line. This has to be scary at times. You guys rocked it !!! Those kids just scamper through. I was once fearless. LOL Then I got older.
My wife is not into anything physical or anything outdoors. I thought she'd be the scared one, nope it was me. She said it was great and loved it. She is always nervous in a car ride but said this was easier than riding along in a car. I don't get it haha
I do really like the looks of that canoe mine is close but really like yours might have to take another look at it
I have a few other videos of it in use, the stillwater isn't really a fishing trip, but i snag a few. Man, I can't wait to get back there. Soon!
@@DeMarcheAdventures i have a rouge river 14 with a trolling motor i have cut down just for it with stabilizers that should be in today so this weekend im headed to the ponds in Lake Clear in the Adirondacks hoping for some nice trout good luck with your adventures
@@timahern7214 thank you and good luck on those trout! Sounds like a good time. Now to get rid of this snow!
Love that motor mount. Is that a diy?
It is but not by me. I think I got it from a guy selling them on etsy or something similar. Maybe it was ebay?
Looks like the one on amazon
@@mattc8046 very well could of been from there as well. Or he's selling on multiple platforms. I know it was def a guy who made them and not factory made.
have it set up backwards the motor is in the front
I was wondering about that but the seats are equidistant. How do you tell?
@@DeMarcheAdventures There is about a foot more of leg room in front compared to the back, and the logo is always in the front. I could tell just by the amount of room behind his set it was backwards
@@timahern7214 I measured and the foot space in the front is exactly the same as the back. That's why I was unsure. The logo makes sense. I didn't know if it was front or back. The C14 logo was up front and when I put the hazel grace sticker on I figured there were labels on both ends. It doesn't look like it really but there is equal amount of room front and back.
@@DeMarcheAdventures usually the back seat is further back then the front mine is 11 inches different
@@DeMarcheAdventures when i am alone i will run mine backwards top help from the front getting to high
love love love Stillwater. my favorite place in the world!
It was my first time there in the summer, I'm itching to get back! Soon! Which is your favorite site? I heard 41 is awesome. I will shoot for that probably
I've been going up there since I was 6 months old ..according to my parents. Very special place to me. Man the bugs can be bad though. Lol
Site number 36. Such a beautiful island.
Awesome that you're parents took you out there! I have done it with my kids a lot as well. Great memories! Camping with my parents and brothers/sisters as a child were such great memories. I hope I give my kids the same kind of love for the outdoors that your parents gave you! I'll check out 36 next and get a video up. Im so backlogged with videos. If 36 is open ill certainly take it! Thanks for the advice. I'm sure none of the spots are bad up there. So peaceful and serene. I've been itching to go back there more than the high peaks. Both in the next few months!
nice set up. How did you secure the stadium seat down?
Thanks, They come with straps but I needed to buy the extended straps. I would like to permanently affix them though. Still trying to figure that out. Maybe bolt them in
Great hike with your family in the beautiful winter area. Fantastic nature and the music is top! ;) 9:22 great view! Great video! greetings from Thuringia Marco & Racoon

@@Latia.dabadie ok I will! :)
A cutter pin will lock it in place.
Do you have to register a canie when you put a motor?
In ny yes unfortunately. And they want a lot of documentation. The receipt which I had bass pro print me a new one years later was not good enough. They wanted the slip that came with the canoe. Had to get one from the manufacturer. Was the worst most annoying process ever. I get it for gas motors but come on. Took over a month for approval.
@@DeMarcheAdventurestyrannical government for you
@@bensmith4563 exactly. They wanted to make sure they got their taxes. They said if I bought it from someone else who already paid taxes on it, that I would also need to prove I paid taxes on it as well. The rule was def made for large boats which would have very high taxes... But still enforce it for a $300 canoe
Nice video!
Thank you, a little shaky in areas, I think I need a gimbal soon
