This record did come out, but it was immediately pulled by the label. Womb Amnesia is a seminal record for feminism and racism. "Universal Pimp" and "Beauty is Made" are masterpieces. I had a chance to see them play live in Hollywood, across the street from Guitar Center on Sunset. I actually didn't know they'd be there, but they were and it was a great show. I really don't think this is punk, it's wild and daring - it's Rock, Funk, Jazz, R&B and Thrash. They aren't doing the Seattle sound - this was a Black rock band from LA. The bassist stayed with Cree and joined her solo band when she put out her later record Street Fairie. The keyboardist/saxophonist Carl Young joined Michael Franti and Spearhead on bass. One guitarist, Tori Ruffin (the pinch harmonic guy) was in the band Civil Rite with Carl - but also went on to join Morris Day and the Time. This band was an offshoot of the LA Chapter of the Black Rock Coalition - which included Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine at the time. My favorite band, and probably my favorite of their albums. I am of the age where I bought this at Tower Records brand new, and theirs was the first live concert I ever attended. Thank you so much for putting them in the spotlight.

Weird FTW! Only 1 of my 3 standouts were named. Ashamed of the Story I Told Ivy Boy Recently I caught Polaris at a Halloween show in the middle of nowhere in Iowa... and it was fantastic. Mark sheepishly & impressed laughed into the mic after a song everyone sang along to and said, "wow..! You guys Actually know this stuff!!.." while shaking his head.

For me mxpx one is my big 4 of 90s 2000s skate punk. The other 3 are Green Day, Blink 182 and Bad Relgion. On a side note, if you own the cd of slowly going the way of the buffalo, those 3 bands I've mentioned are in their thank you list. I bought thiis along with Enema of this state. And mxpx released an ep on fat Mike's label. Their more punk rock than religious rock if you ask me. Punk is also about self expression and that's what the band just did on their albums.

A few years ago I did the French translation of the last 5 episodes of Ergo Proxy. Those who had started the series (myself included) had ended up with the last 5 untranslated episodes. I took it upon myself to translate them, which I had never done. It was much more tedious than I had imagined.

Garbage is my 2nd favorite band after the Beatles.

My musical history could be summarized like this... I started at the age of 13 listening to hard rock AC/DC, Saxon, Scorpion, Accept, then it accelerated with heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween, then an unexpected revelation, the 1st album of Metallica, the album that marked me the most musically. I considered this album as the precursor and the icon of thrash metal. Bands like Sepultura, Megadeth, Anthrax followed. My metal period ended when I was 23. Then I had my hard core techno period until I was 30 and then a musical desert, nothing else except "Joe Satriani" which made me travel mentally in a musical sphere of unequalled beauty. Now I am 53 years old and I discovered Lovebites 2 years ago. They have resurrected me musically. I thought that nothing could match or surpass what I had listened to during my youth because metal music has turned into sub-genres like death, black, and core metal, which to my ear apart from a few tracks are almost inaudible, mainly because of the adopted growls in the vocals, and the lack of virtuosity and melody in the guitar. Moreover I did not follow the "power metal" wave inaugurated by Helloween. Nowadays I only listen to Lovebites who, in my opinion, play what I liked during my metal period but at a higher level both technically and musically. I would never have imagined that such a band could exist. It is to my ear a musical miracle and I weigh my words. This band deserves worldwide recognition and should be considered as the revival of the legendary heavy metal.

To me, “Electric Pentagram” is one of the best albums in history of metal, and I even would dare to say in the history of rock; it is full of excellent music, including several masterpieces and a great great bonus is that the DVD of their outstanding performance at Wacken Open Air, Germany, 2018 , is also included. I’ve purchased this album and also the Blue-Rays of the concerts “Daughters of the dawn” (2019), “Five of a kind” (2020) and “Heavy metal never dies” (2021). I bought them from Amazon Japan; it was quite expensive (including shipping to Mexico) but definitely worth it, and delivery service was excellent. These women are relentless, and exceptional and proficient musicians. I discovered Lovebites a little more than two years ago and I’m still in owe.

Great review guys. This band is so amazing and so unique. They are such skilled musicians and they really put on a great show in their live videos. I hope you have seen those because watching them shred and smile is so awesome to behold.

A great trendsetter album for rap rock and alternative fusion. Really their fastest, quickest hitter album. Most fans like their first two albums more and the next two albums after this more, but they went big with this one due to the timing of it in the rap rock fusion era and the attitude of the band. Really have to read the lyrics to decipher them - one lasting reality for 311 music.

Hendrix was into sound, into tone as emotional, artistic expression, very heavy into feeling, elevating guitar as pure art form and a direct conduit of his body and soul
