Elk Lakes Exploring (BC, Rocky Mountains)
The Elk Lakes are tucked away in a corner of southeast BC near the Albera border. The area features a lush valley surrounded by dramatic peaks. There's lots of exploring to be done - hiking, fishing, waterfalls, lakes etc... The Elk Lakes Cabin makes for a great adventure headquarters in summer or winter. We booked it for a couple nights to better explore the surrounding areas.

Postill Lake Old Adventure Map (BC, Okanagan)
zhlédnutí 275Před dnem
There is a map at Postill Lake that is a recreation of another map dating back 80 years. There are several features on the map that spark adventure ideas. Do the trails exist? Why does the island not exist? What is the cabin icon? We set out by foot or paddle to answer these questions and more.
Pitt River Hot Springs by Canoe + Bike (BC, Coastal Range)
zhlédnutí 848Před 14 dny
Getting to the Pitt River Hot Springs by human power alone is a fantastic challenge and an unforgettable adventure. There's nothing like soaking in the best hot springs I've ever experienced after canoeing across a lake for 25km and then biking another 23km. Careful logistics are required to pull off the adventure and the weather can either make or brake the trip!
Pinhead (Alaska)
zhlédnutí 84Před 21 dnem
There is some excellent hiking in northern Alaska. On previous visits, I've explored Volcano, Mt. Deadlock, Smiley and Anxiety Ridge. On this trip, I'm setting out on a new route to the summit of Pinhead.
Last Mountain via Bull Hut (BC, Okanagan)

On a recent trail-run to the summit of Mt. Last near West Kelowna, I found the Bull Mt. Cabin.
Exploring Granby Dam (BC, Boundary)
zhlédnutí 545Před měsícem
The Granby Dam was built in 1900 primarily to provide power for the nearby smelter but also electrified the town of Grand Forks, BC. The dam was functional on and off, following the ups and downs of the mining industry. Eventually in 1948, the main dam and much of the infrastructure was dismantled. There are lots of remains along the riverside to explore including the foundation of the old powe...
Bomber Glacier (Alaska)
zhlédnutí 98KPřed měsícem
In November 1957, a US Air Force B29 bomber set out on a routine training mission near Anchorage, Alaska. The flight turned disastrous shortly after with a crash into a remote glacier north of Palmer, AK. Six of the ten on board were killed and the rest would have followed the same fate, except for a heroic rescue effort. The glacier came to be known as Bomber Glacier and the site can be visite...
Dewdney Peak Cabin (BC, Fraser Valley)
zhlédnutí 484Před 2 měsíci
Dewdney Peak rises above the town that shares its name. This bump of forest would hardly be worth visiting if it wasn't for the little cabin built in 2005 by local residents. In honors the helicopter pilot Ben VonHardenberg who lost his life fighting fires near 100 mile house. A hike up to the summit and lookout followed by a night at the cabin is a great way to learn more about Ben and take in...
Oyama and Streak Lakes exploring (BC, Okanagan)
zhlédnutí 490Před 2 měsíci
We’re out exploring the lakes of Lake Country, BC and there are a number of islands to explore full of old camp spots and other treasures. There is also a swampy stream connection between Oyama lake and Streak lake that makes for a fantastic and scenic paddle. Streak lake is extremely peaceful and off the beaten path.
Hope Mountain spring hike (BC, Fraser Valley)
zhlédnutí 367Před 2 měsíci
I've always seen this prominent peak from the highway on the journey past Hope, BC. In fact, it is called Hope Mountain. Choosing to hike this in May was likely a mistake but this is when I happened to be passing by. Snow or no snow, it was a good adventure to figure out how to get to the top.
KVR across the Coldwater River (BC, Coquihalla Summits)
zhlédnutí 16KPřed 2 měsíci
Devastating fires and floods hit the Merritt subdivision of the Kettle Valley Railway route in late 2021. One of the most popular sections exists at the start of the route, from Brodie Station north. I wanted to see what condition the trail is and if the route is still navigable.
Roatan Island's highest point - Pico Picacho (Honduras)

Exploring Roatan, off the coast of Honduras, to find the island’s highest point.
Lakit Lookout Overnight (BC, Kootenays)
zhlédnutí 488Před 3 měsíci
The action first started in 1955 when the Wild Horse fire lookout was erected and manned for service. In 1977, the building was replaced with a replica of original. Nowadays the fire lookout is abandoned and a visit is a signature Cranbrook-area adventure. In the summer it is a relatively short (1-2 hour hike) up to the lookout but in the winter, a longer approach walking or skiing along the fi...
Parc National D'Aiguebelle (Quebec)
zhlédnutí 130Před 3 měsíci
With a few hours to kill before a flight, I saw a sign pointing to the Aiguebelle National Park and spontaneously turned to check it out. It must have been off-season as there was not a living soul at the park and I helped myself to all the park could offer. Aiguebelle is famous for its suspension bridge over Lac La Haie and an abandoned fire lookout tower.
San Marcos Cliff Jumping (Guatemala)
zhlédnutí 188Před 3 měsíci
There is a great cliff jumping spot in the Cerro Tzankujil Nature Reserve near San Marcos, Atitan Lake, Guatemala. The signature feature is a 15-20m high platform (the height of the platform changes depending on the storyteller). Jumping off of this is not for the faint-of-heart but no pressure because there are lots of other swimming and jumping spots for the whole family.

Ski up to Mara Fire Lookout (BC, Okanagan)
This weekend I started at Brookmere and couldn't make it to Thalia, didn't have the nerve to climb over all those washouts. Still a great little ride, though eerily desolate. Thanks for showing the way in these KVR videos!
Yeah it's quite the trek. I don't think I could do it twice. 😂
👍👍
Awesome cabin! Beautiful place😍 The water might be a little chilly though🥶🥶
Beauty area and cabin/lodge. Brave men, trail running in flip flops. 😂🌲🤙
You are so attractive. Dream guy with clearly a soul filled with a drive for adventure 😍
Gorgeous lakes there😍 Were there fish jumping all about at dawn and dusk?
Yes, so many fish!
Nice outing(s). I remember a similar hike-in lake from the far side of Paradise Lake. Found a flat bottom boat tied up too. We did it as a family of four in ‘71. Way more bites on us than the fly lines though ! 🤣😂🤙
Poor Old Lillooet - pretty sure that this is a coach from the consist of the Hudson tourist train which ran between North Vancouver and Squamish. How did it get to Summerland? and to find an owl roosting in it in the middle of the day (I thought that it was a stuffed owl until if flapped it's wings and flew across the car): EXTRAORDINARY.
Summerland has a chunk of KVR trail preserved and used for a tourist train as well. They must have brought the Lillooet from the coast.
That plane is a PBY, Not a B29.
Like the music when you are breaking down your camp.. Good video.
Thank you for unapologetically making a mature decision. The peak is not going anywhere!
That is my dads old trapline cabin
Whoa! What a spot!
Nicely done gotta love the canoe and bike combo, 2 of my favorite things to do.
О, сколько алюминия!
Wow ! “Walk in the park”….the park of adventure . 👍👍
Great video as always. You were really really close to one of the better pictograph sites at 1:02.
Yes, we saw them! Amazing.
That hot spring sounds too hot for sure♨ Really nice adventure!
Too hot is ok when a freezing river flows by!
@@LifeIsAdventureChannel Yeah, the 10 degree river is pretty darn cold too🥶
Grizzly bears live in this area- another cool video-thanks
Mind if I ask what you do for work that takes you and allows you to go to so many great places? (Just a generality is ok, I don't want to impede on privacy)
I work for a company that monitors for landslides. We install sensors and have software to track movement. Sometimes we have to visit sites to check on equipment or train. I try to add on an extra day for some sort of adventure when possible!
@@LifeIsAdventureChannel That is awesome. What a great career and opportunities to see new places.
Great video! Do you know where the Lavington siphon route went regarding current roads etc.?
I believe the route went along Whitevale Rd then Rochdell Rd then Springfield Rd. You can see the canal 'scar' on google satellite.
A lot of wasted time watching this guy hiking.😢
вы живете на Аляске ?
Нет, Я просто иногда путешествую по работе.
Земл все выплюнет через время.. так есть и так будет! Это не приживется никогда...❤1
Talking loudly to the video will alert the bears that you're there! I agree with you! I would not want to see those bears up close🐻 I wasn't even there and those bears stressed me out, lol😁 Great hike and views up there!
That’s really awesome. Yes, thanks for sharing
Beauty views ! Thanks for sharing. 🤙
What did you mean about "the source of the water" being questionable? We are thinking of hiking in.
Well.. the waterfall is run-off from the resort pools. That bothers some but not us. We didn't put it in our mouths and spit fountains though (except the kids).
Hi... how can i get in touch for some more information please? Thanks!!! Sandi
There's a contact email in the about section. It's a little controversial whether or not private land has to be crossed or not.
From the tracks visible it looks like the area gets a fair amount of foot and ski traffic.
There's a hut-to-hut ski traverse / mountaineering route in the area.
My uncle worked on that plane and saw it burn to the ice..
Incredible!
GIVE Me "COORDINATES, please
That's all I need, ok
Great video !..enjoy this while yer young. I'm 75 now... me and my brother wandered all over the Mojave Desert when we were much younger. Found many , many plane parts.... never took any home... probably still out there fer the adventurist ! Fun !
You did the right thing
im on my way to las vegas and im staring at this big ass mountain. jesus christ
How do you get those long shots? Is there a second hiker with a drone?
Just me!
Great adventure to find the cabin! Quite the workout there💪💪
wow ! mega workout. Do you pack a SPOT device with you ? cheers.😎🤙
Yeah I have a Garmin inreach. Never had to use it yet 😅
Vaseux Lake pronounced Vas O lake
The old hotel in Kal Eden is the proper pronunciation.
Amazing ! *****
Your images are very beautiful. Friend, which camera model on the drone did you use?
I was using a a DJI mini pro 4. It's sadly resting at the bottom of a lake now 😭
@@LifeIsAdventureChannel What a shame! Thank you, you'll have another one soon. God bless you, my friend!
How hard of a hike would you say this is? I do hike everyday but don’t do ALOT of elevation is it still do able
If you go direct from the parking lot to Mt. Brent it is about 3-4 hours round trip (10km total, 400m elevation gain). We took the kids once and they didn't have a problem. There are longer routes (ie including sheep rock) which make the journey longer. I say go for it!!
My Wife's Uncle was a pilot on that aircraft.
That's pretty cool!
If you go up the north fork side and turn at the horse riding club sign, you can walk into the bench and look down on the dam. You also go past snake hole swimming area or whats left of it. Another hike is up observation mtn, just on the north end of town. The trail takes of at the end of 8th street. Also not sure if you have been up to bluejoint fire lookout which is up the granby. Great views from the top.
Thanks for all the tips! Bluejoint is definitely on the list.
Great video, congratulations!
Interesting!
Actually a fairly tough ride!
is this spot right accross from the five mile boat launch?
This particular one is more across from Martha Creek but there's a couple more across from 5 mile
