I followed your steps and put the belt (same size as yours) on the first 4 ribs and it completely destroyed the belt. Any suggestions?
I put mine towards the back of the pulley closer to the alternator itself, but I've never had one do like you said, it's possible you mightve had it to tight.
Can you change the timing chain cover without removing the oil pan?
nope, oil pan has to drop to remove the two bolts holding the pickup tube, then you can remove the front cover

Have you looked at your oil pressure on the track at high RPM? This only raises the max allowable pressure but doesn't improve flow rates across the full range of RPM. If these oil pumps are hitting the bypass by like 4k rpm, this is helpful, and probably worth turning some spacers on a lathe to prevent excessive metal shavings from the screw. I haven't looked at oil pressure data, just know these engines need better oil pumps for higher power and OEM is discontinued
this mod improves the psi through the whole range. the way these work is the spring heats up as the oil heats up which allows more oil to bypass so you get less pressure as it is warm. this mod makes the spring rate even stiffer so it takes more psi to open it resulting in more psi overall. and the flow rate is increased with this mod overall. this mod helps when it comes to bearing failure which these motors can be prone to at high rpm because of the crappy flow of oil through the crankshaft. OEM oil pumps do not have a high rate of flow anyways, for a fully stock ka24de it is normal for 7-12 psi at idle when warm and maxing out around 50-70 psi at full rev. This mod makes it about 30psi warm and around 100psi or more at full rev. This is something i have been doing for years and so has a decent amount of us high HP ka guys. I make sure i do this mod on all my builds i do and i suggest it to other people aswell.
I bought a new oil pump kit years ago haven't put together my ka but mine came w 3 shims a where a few I have taken apart in the past only have one shim. Would this be worth running in a freshly rebuilt stock ka? Plan on boosting after break in but nothing crazy prolly bottom mount t28 maybe tomei arms. Been looking for an answer for so long 😢
@drftt719 yes, even on non turbo setup the higher oil pressure will be a benefit 100%, the little aims that come with the oem pump do not do much in terms of bumping the pressure. Better off doing the way I show it

When I get a Silvia I would keep the KA in bcuz it's underrated The c18 & SR20 were overrated
the silvia did not come with the KA, only the US made 240sx had the KA24, silvia and 180sx were ca18 and then sr20

@@neoeclipseop anti lag is when the turbo is kept spooling when off the accelerator. So when exiting a corner the turbo is on full boost. Antilag is commonly used on rally cars and gives turbos a very short life. 2 step is limiting the revs to a certain rpm for example 4500rpm, keeping the turbo on boost for launch. I think you need to do your research 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@santasdeath I know what anti lag is and I know what 2 step is, I know all about tuning and building cars. Rally car anti lag more of a rolling anti lag. 2 step is having multiple rev limits hence why it is called 2 step. 2 step isn't designed to pull timing and dump fuel, that's what anti lag does. I know all about tuning cars and what stuff means
