Making a murphy bed with builtins has never been easier
How has it held up?? I’m thinking about doing this
Totally do it. No issues at all and very easy to apply 👍
What is the thickest bed you think could fit in there? I have a 12" memory foam queen in the spare room I want to build mine in.
The box depth is 17 inches so I don’t see why that size wouldn’t work. I don’t know the actual rules but it would make sense
Great video, quick all the info needed and no unnecessary over talking and great ideas. Good job!
Thank you and glad I could help out 👍🏼
NICE!! You got some building plans for this play house? My daughters would love one of these!
Yes I do 👍🏼. If you go to my linktree you can pick them up there

This is so real
Hahaha straight facts
I'm dying 😂
Hahaha needed to be done lol
Amazing
Thank you so much 👍🏼
You better have used galvanized steel squares and eco friendly wood veener. Also, those screws better be borrowed from your aunt
❤ Lovely workmanship
Thank you so much
Look awesome, ❤
Thank you so much 😊
Exactly what I was looking for. Piece of craftsmanship !
Thank you so much. 👍🏼
Can you post detailed directions and links to the bolts and screws
I will make a newer more detailed version of this but I got the zipbolt on Amazon
Paint fumes can harm chickens' respiratory systems. If you do this yourself, be on the safe side and let the paint dry completely before letting the chickens back in.
I see the chicken wire, decide to paint it black.
Wow who would have thought something so simple would make such a big difference!! Very nice! Glad you didn't use the paint gun 😂😂😂
Hahahahahahaha
That's the way you paint!!! Looks awesome. I have been wanting to get a paint gun but dont know what would be good without paying an arm and a leg. That one ooks easy to clean. My brother is a painter on the side and says they clog easy. But maybe he just didn't get a good one.
Thank you and yes I love my spray gun. As long as you keep it clean and have clean paint running through you should be good. I have had no issues
Thst is amazing!!! Was the ceiling the same color?? Did you have to do 2 coats? Really looks nice. You are a smart worker 😅😊
Yes and yes. 2 coats and everything is the same color
I love murphy beds!! I don't understand the long handles though?
It’s just decoration
Vrry nice!! Do the chickens free range in the yard? Sure hope so 😊
Thank you and they always free range in the yard
Wow why can't all dads be this handy!! Very nice!!! Your wife is lucky to have such a thoughtful and creative husband!
Thank you so much. Can’t wait to tell my wife that lol
@@sdotdiy 😂😂😂 I'm laughing but it's also frustrating. It makes me want to learn how to do things like that but I'm very clumsy 🥺
The mesh usually doesnt come in black so that animals can see it, blacked out mesh like that wipes out hawks and doves
I would have never even thought of that. But hopefully they are smarter than that. 😬
That’s okay as long as they can’t get in
Congratulations it looks great and youve discovered light reflection as a concept 👍
Hahaha you are a real sweet someone. I could tell. Good for you man. Keep being a ray of light
@@sdotdiy it’s common sense. shiny metal wire is gonna be harder to look at than a colour that literally absorbs all light
@@SDSypherit’s just a silly video. I understand lol you are reading too much into it lol
Most people don't think of it so this is a little hack
@SDSypher common sense is understanding that this video is just a hack for people that didn't think about it until they've seen it
Do you have a more in-depth video of the door build? Specifically how the center panels go in? We are using your plans now to build our coop.
I can make a video of it 👍
I prefer the wood spindles, but this is nice too.
Thank you. Different strokes for different folks
Love it! You make it look so easy! Need one but horizontal and so hard to find plans for it.
Thank you so much. If you buy the rockler kit you get generic plans with it 👍
Nesting box needs shading
It is for most of the day
😂🤣
Is your foundation literally just compacted soil? Will that hold up over time? Was i overthinking my project with a gravel bed foundation? I'm an amateur so these are earnest questions
It’s in the easement so I couldn’t put actual footers in. I have it on rocks on each corner
Who would want to live looking at each homeowners crap in the back yard.😂
So you pay all that money for your property and live for your neighbors huh? You should pay their bill also. Such a considerate person.
@@sdotdiy😂 that guy or lady 💀😂🤣😂😂🤣.
Wow that’s amazing ❤ you are a great mom!
Thank you so much
Looks great! How do you get into the corners when using round tools? Is there a different tool specifically for corners?
Thank you I appreciate it. You can use a multitool with a triangle attachment or a wood scraping tool
3a
👍
Really worth taping it? I can handle a big caulk job easily 😂😂😂😂😂
Silicon caulk is so messy. Why risk it in such a small area?
😅
👍
Appause for taking a bad home and making it better for you to live in.🎉
Thank you very much 👍
Absolutely beautiful! How do you seal out drafts? I'm guessing you live in a warmer climate?
Thank you so much. I live in Chicago actually. I put a little insulation boards along the top by the vents. All the chickens were good to go all winter 👍
🤠😎
👍 👍
Nice!! I could live in that!!
Haha it could be a tiny house
Love this video! You made it look so easy! Beautiful coop 😍 I am hoping to build a coop soon because my baby chicks are growing too fast! 😅
Thank you so much. It happens so fast. How many chickens do you have?
@@sdotdiy As of now, we only have two chicks. ☺️ Hoping to get at least one more. The maximum allowed in this city is 5 chickens 🐓
Looks good but I think you’ll need to repair or rebuild it every 5 years with wood contacting the ground.
I used ground contact 4x4s. Like the ones that are used in outdoor fences. Should be good 👍
Great build & great video! We are new chicken farmers and are needing to build a hen house, this was great inspiration!
Thank you so much. They get big so fast, so definitely start planning 👍
Looks nice
👍 thank you
Who else thought it was a door
Or a closet lol. So do you like it or what
👍👍🥰🥰
😀 😀
Nah, those streaks where you overlapped the stain sections and didn't wipe enough ain't it
Hahaha okay
Fourth thing to do is Water Pop then stain...
Definitely a good tip
Love this, where did you get the pole rip from that you lined the backwall for your shelf with?
Thank you and I picked it up at Home Depot 👍
Link to bed kit
If you go on my linktree I have everything connected. linktr.ee/SDOTDIY
This looks great! This is so much easier than removing the tile. Thanks! I’m going to give it a try.
100 percent do it 👍
Now you need a square toilet to match
Hahaha 😂 I wouldn’t hate that
