Hello, great video. I have this lawnmower left from the previous homeowner. It has a champion spark plug # RC12YX. Could the wrong spark plug have been put in there at one time? It is running very rough and blowing blue smoke. I cleaned the plug and carburetor, but it didn't help. The plug is also fouled again. Any advise? Thanks

Thanks for posting this. I have the same printer and got this message last week. I just got the printer out of the trash to try the update and it worked. I connected the printer with a usb cable and it worked right off. I've been using ebay cartridges since the printer was new with no issues with the ink. I'm not paying $99 for HP ink.

Well, it's 2024 now and you actually CAN use non HP genuine cartridges and print without any problem... But you cannot see the ink level in the cartridges. It always shows as full

I am done with HP they should get sued over this. I’ve always used generic ink and now they block it. I’m no lawyer but I doubt this is legal. No more HP products for me.

Ok, boy are you dumb, ok. Now I have to check that on my 1994 Evinrude 90hp outboard. But I was checking that throttle in neutral at steering wheel. I put in a new Ignition switch, got NOTHING! Finally I got a click. Also had no power trim. Changed small 20A fuse where you were fiddling, got clicking, but no starter. Wondering if a RESET Button somewhere???. ....... I did have that happen one time a couple of summers ago. I beached the boat. But when I put the throttle in neutral, I didnt get it into N. Then I jumped out of the boat and pulled boat up on beach. Then when I went to leave, it wouldnt start. GRRR!! So, after awhile, I finally checked gear shift, and it was NOT in neutral!! Dumb!!

Just happened again to me. None of the described solutions worked this time (including the follow-up video). What worked for me was disabling Power Management for the USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) under USB-Controller in the Device Manager (Dell XPS 17 9700, Windows 10 Pro 22H2).

When I got this printer it did came with aftermarket color ink cartridges I then used your video to downgrade it after that somehow it updated but didn’t give that non hp chip block again!

Actually you can get remanufactured cartridges they mostly use the hp chip

Worked on HP 6962 printer. Windows 10. Used a USB cable - would not work over the WiFi. Ran the downgrade - the LCD screen turned off but the power button stays on; LCD screen comes back on with a green screen with numbers 12345; after complete the printer restarts. Told me "non HP ink blah blah blah"; click OK on the screen. Print a test page. Done. Thank you Matt!!

I’m not getting the message on the printer but windows is telling me that printer maintenance is required (tested on 2 w10 laptops). iOS prints fine - so the problem seems to be with windows. I’ve done all the resets and réinstallations - very annoying

Totally agree. Never do the software on your printer. All the do is reject the new ink cartridge you buy to save money. It’s like a iPhone if you don’t have the newest version then some apps don’t download lol. 06/27/2024 here time 1:59am

If you are here taking the test and you get a shorter middle aged white guy wearing shades and a blue cap, DO NOT TAKE THE TEST! He WILL fail you for bs. I did not do a single thing wrong on the 2 times I was forced to endure 10 minutes with him. He alleged I wasn’t looking enough as the sole reason on BOTH times I failed which I absolutely was not. Even if that were true, it would not be enough to fail me alone by the actual standards of the test. The 6 extra hours of behind the wheel this asshat made me do we’re basically spent with the instructor appalled how I did not pass and him agreeing that the tester was out of line. Just take it at an open road location like Anoka, ended up with a super nice lady and passed with not a single point missed.

just did my volt for the first time. plug was completely stripped. dealer was the last to service from sticker. got frustrated and just unscrewed the oil filter (which was also on there extremely tight), and turned the engine on for 5 seconds. pretty quickly drained 3.7 liters. I almost wonder if they stripped the drain plug a long time ago and never told the last owner and never changed the oil, just kept resetting the counter. filter date was 5 years older than the last sticker date.

I'll NEVER buy another one! This problem should be illegal!

When the new driver gets to the "Welcome to the HP Printer Update" screen, I am unable to check the box. This is after restoring defaults and removing the smart ink cartridge. Nothing seems to the help, the status of the driver says unavailable. There seems to be no way to roll this firmware back.

This upload of yours is so HELPFUL! Thank you for giving me a fix that allows me to use my printer. HP should be ashamed of themselves.
