    Hi Jaz, why is it more important, when looking if you have a tight contactpoint or not, to floss from cervical to coronaal instead from coronal to cervical? What is the logic behind it?

    • @protrusive
      @protrusive Před dnem

      I have found that I am much more likely to detect an open contact when going cervical to coronal - ie. you can get false negatives if all you rely on is coronal to cervical. Sometimes it will give you an illusion that there is a contact - but the cervical to coronal will confirm as it will pass through easily

    I've done maybe a hundred arches of printed dentures since 2020 and I am very uncomfortable giving them to a patient as anything but a temporary. The materials just aren't that resilient, and they frankly don't look very nice if you aren't able to spend a lot of time and very specialized materials accenting them. Milled bases with manufactured teeth on the other hand with a digital approach turn our quite nice typically.

    In my experience (maybe 30+ dentures I've done digitally)... 1. Perfect for immediate partials. I've never adjusted a digital immediate. They always fit. 2. I use full arch scans as a replacement for secondaries. I can count on one hand the number of times I've encountered an issue on the wax try in. I'm a huge advocate of digital. Haven't done crown/bridge as analogue imps in nearly 2 years. Haven't needed to remake or adjust anything in months.

    I appreciate ideas you emphasize. Patient education gives way more quality of life improvement in terms of oral health than almost any treatment. In terms of monetization/result ratio i think it would make way more sense to educate more for money and do less treatment than reverse. People that are motivated and respond well to treatment after they’ve done their own homework bring way more satisfaction to the profession. You look good not when you show super technical stuff and charge $€£¥, you look genius when every little thing works and everything is because of their own work :)) Faith in dental professionals restored bc of this channel :)

    Hey Jaz, I’m loving your RBB content on CZcams. Thanks so much for putting them up. My technician is really pushing for emax RBBs instead of metal PFM ones. He says the “bond is better and strength is still good”. Based on what I have read, metal is still the better option as there is more long-term studies to support it right? I’m a bit worried about his comment about stronger bond with emax. I plan to use panavia v5 to cement my upcoming [first ever] case.

    There are a few complications that make this an art form really. The temporary crown can sometimes act as a separator and push the teeth apart a bit during the time the temporary is worn. Then your crown has great contacts on the model but slightly open contacts when seated clinically. If the patient is told to floss this contact really well, the contact should close again. Similarly, sometimes if the contacts are over-tight, the crown will sometimes actually settle in just fine given a bit of time for the forces to distribute and the teeth to shift slightly. If a contact is open or loose on a model and in the mouth though, I reject it.

    Hey doc, great video and beautiful work. Myself, I suture virtually everything unless there is no exposed bone. I just get way fewer healing complications. A cross mattress in a socket like that keeps food out and keeps the sponges in. I personally would also add a little sponge pad on top of the furcal bone. I also advise no rinsing. I think it agitates the wound surface too much and patients are generally bad at it. So I just tell them not to do it and again, way fewer dry sockets!
