ALL-IN at The Lodge in Austin!! || Poker Vlog #17
Hey everyone, in this episode, I travel to Austin to play at The Lodge!! Was an interesting evening to say the least, but was fun to play in a new card room. Had several premium hands in this session, one where I hit top set and got raised all-in and another where I 4-bet jam with AK. Please note, my chip stack varied from hand to hand on occasion due to PLO bomb pots that I didn't get on video. Hope you enjoy!

    T2s: If you will donk the river, why not just raise turn? QTs: I would have checked flop with very little equity. This was not a protection bet. It was a bluff. IMO you are playing way too loose in MW pots OOP. OOP you lose equity a lot faster than you gain pot odds.

    Just came across your channel recently. The A/2 off and 10/7 are not supposed to be calls. Some of the way you describe hands is different and not how to be thinking about it. Not just “I think I’m good” but how best to get value and what your opponents range is. My two cents

    Why would you lament winning without showdown a $200+ pot against 4 people... You did exactly what you were supposed to do. any Spade, J, 10, 9, 7, 6, 5 , 3, A all could have been terrible cards...

    0:51 "I make it 10 (with A2o) on the button and BB makes a big raise to 45, maybe he has something like JJ-KK so i hope to spike an ace". What about him having you totally crushed with a dominated better A like AK, AQ etc.? You lost me there bro.......🤣🤣🤣🤣 This should be the quickest snap fold in the history of the game. Trying to steal that pot on the button is fine of course but i don't see any merit in staying in that hand. Good luck with the vlog, i stopped watching after you called the re-raise met A2o.

      @@jasonbell-poker agree with the above commentary on the A2 hand, snap fold to a reraise, the is no reason to take a flop with that garbage, you will just lose your stack with hands like this when you flop a Ace. Smaller preflop raise is something you should look into, what does 5xing accomplish, 2.5x or 3x is fine. This also going to save you money over time and allow you to take the initiative while being able to play wider ranges, the small games you are playing you likely will just see people call small raises rather than reraise. Your post flop play calling with bottom pair in multiple spots post flop is atrocious. You flip flop a lot on your hand analysis street to street very frequently. Your thought process goes frequently to being over ambitious to afraid of monsters on later streets.

    77: Put more money in on the turn. Two flush draws and some big pair possibilities. Get the money while villain is still willing to pay. I'd overbet 125. K5s: This is a spot for a river bluff since your 5 is likely not good.

  • @MaydayAggro
    @MaydayAggro Před 28 dny

    JJ: You made it sound like you wanted to bet on the river but checked because you were afraid of better hands. There is no reason to bet here if you think villain has only either hands that will beat you or worse hands that will fold. Just check and take your equity. KJs: I think I'd raise somewhere here, most likely on the turn after villain's tiny turn bet. KQs: I don't raise the river here. When villain is likely bluffing but could have a better hand, there's no reason to raise. His check to you on the turn is procedural. He can conceivably have the flush.

  • @MaydayAggro
    @MaydayAggro Před měsícem

    You are not indicating your stack size in these hands, which is really important in tournament poker. QJs: One thing to remember, especially in tournament play where you cannot add on to your stack, is that you need to not bet quite so thinly. I'd probably check the river and then call any reasonable bet because villain cannot continue with much worse than Jx. JJ: Were you turning a set into a bluff here? You're IP and can check down. What better hands fold here? What worse hands call? K9s: A bet on the flop when you limp in preflop in not cbetting. You are leading. Between the QQ hand and the A2o hand, you lost 30k chips, almost 60% of your stack. Same thing on the J5s hand. What happened in between?

    • @jasonbell-poker
      @jasonbell-poker Před měsícem

      Thanks for the feedback. I recall I had pocket 9’s in between one of those hands and called a hefty raise preflop, then the board was too wet to continue, so I folded. Couldn’t remember all the details. But sometimes I’ll get reportable hands back to back, haven’t even started taking notes on the first yet, and have to play the second hand. Will have to make a choice as to which hand to report as I need to focus on game play. Takes a bit to write these hands down during play. Will be putting together a new video this weekend based on the cash games I played at 3 casinos in Vegas post WSOP. Didn’t write down stack sizes while taking notes at the time, but will make a point to write down in the future if I am able.

  • @MaydayAggro
    @MaydayAggro Před měsícem

    Let me start by saying that I love that you are not afraid to bet the size of the pot. Many live low limit players bet tiny nearly all the time unless they are trying to get draws to fold, which makes them completely transparent. 74s: I think preflop was fine. I'd just shove this turn. No reason to allow a scare card on the river that will dry up the action, especially if you believe he has Kx. You got exactly the card you wanted. Go for it all now. Villain was SB. You paid to see his cards, and you want to know what he is 3betting! Wait for him to show! You did this a few times. AQs: I would definitely squeeze here. Your chances of winning oop decrease more than your share of the pot as more people enter. 99: A squeeze is a 3bet after a raise and call(s). This was not a squeeze. It's a cold 4bet (4betting after a raise and 3bet as your first action, rather than raising, getting 3bet, then 4betting when action gets back to you). This was a strange check back by villain on the flop. I thought maybe he had QQ or JJ. Only thing that makes sense (with his actual hand) is that he was afraid of the QJ and decided to treat his hand as a showdown hand until the A hit the turn. I think you lost out on some value here by not overbetting either the turn or river. A hand like QQ likely isn't calling no matter what (except as a possible blocker), so go after the 2pr and Ax hands. QJs: I think maybe checking river (inducing a bluff or thin value bet) might have been the only way to get some more value.

    Pocket fours play great multiway, the goal is to flop a set stack as many people as possible. We don't set mine just to take it heads up. Also there's no point in putting out a feeler bet with pocket fours, what exactly are you feeling for? You're clearly behind 90% of hands. The goal when betting here is just as a cheap bluff to make someone fold their equity, particularly if they just have random overcards.
