A customer asked me if I would take a look at their single phase fan blower as it wasn't working. I believe the blower is for a bouncy castle.
Heater for Rabbit Hutch and External Sockets

Replace an existing external socket fed from a fused connection unit in a kitchen, and install two new external sockets. Supply and install a suitable heater to keep a rabbit warm over the winter period. Yep, you read that correctly! I installed a 40 watt Dimplex thermostatically controlled heater, to keep a rabbit worm over winter.

The first part of the test was wrong , you are required to prove your tester is working correctly on a proving unit or on a none source such as the main switch . You the prove the circuits are dead by test between live and neutral live and earth and neutral and earth on the out going side of the main switch ie the bottom terminals are you should test between incoming line and top of each MCB Reprove your tester is working correctly after all your test are done. I have been a spark for thirty six years and I have never used the terms line and CPC . It has always been live and earth and always will be the same go’s for cable twin & earth has always been called twin & earth and always will be pyro has always been called pyro and always will be. In the real world no one calls TW&E PVC PVC twin and CPC , and no one calls pyro MICC .
Mine had the same issue except worse, the capacitor had leaked. Solved thanks to this video.
My fan blades won't come off and that's the part the video just skipped is it supposed to just pop out easily
Hi Amber, they should come off fairly easily. Try using WD40. Leave it for a while and try again.
Awesome video. Great job! Could the capacitor fail if the weather outside is 40+ degrees C? Would heat possibly do it?
is it have a fuse inside the motor rewind
Hi, there’s no fuse inside the winding. There should be a fuse in the plug top, at least in the UK.
Really enjoyed the video great in depth explanations
Thanks Benjie
Great video, really well explained,i recently bought a dilog mft9118, your video demonstrates better then their official video. more like this please, fan of your channel.
Thanks so much for your comment. I’ll try and get more content up.
I have the same blower, it is working, the only problem is that the cable is not working properly, I have to tie the entry of the cable, but I have to take the propeller out, I don't know how to take it out?
Have you taken the cowling off to get to the fan?
@@pwaelectricalltd29 I repaired the blower, thanks
How did you take the fan out?
I would rather have the omega sea master you have on your wrist .
Price is very good. I’m looking to buy one. Do you still recommend it? Thanks
Yes, they do everything you need and they don’t cost you the earth.
Keep going to get your money
What locked with live terminals exposed ...? surely it would be a better design if you could lock the main switch with the cover on ...
The how would you test it to prove it is dead
Can you show me, how did you take the propeller out to the blower?
Hi Santiago, sorry I can’t. I repaired this blower for a customer, and it was returned to them months ago.
Hi I tired putting WD14 it didn’t work and I don’t have the right tools for removing the fan. I don’t know how to get it off and I need another way could you please help me?
Thanks bro for reviewing the repair video 👍🏼 keep going.
I have the same fan and I need to get to the wiring. I'm struggling to get the fan blades off. do you have any advice?
Hi Jamie, try spraying some WD40 on the shaft near the key. Leave for a minute then just apply some hand pressure behind the blades and pull it off.
Same question??? 😂
@Chicken Stranger please can you explain how Exactly ?
@Chicken Stranger thanks I’ll check it out.
Hi, Really good video and very informative. I have a machine just the same. When I do the reading on the test board for my ring main, second stage reading is coming up the same as the first stage, is it the machine?
Hi Jubba, thanks for your comments. Often the length of cable on the test boards is so short that the readings can come back as fairly similar.
👍
Looks good.
Thanks Banny.
Looks very good and easy to use
Cheers Jem.
Looks excellent
Thanks Newline.
Nice to see a video of you on the tools mate, keep them coming 👍🏻
Cheers buddy. One more in the pipeline. Just need to get customers to agree to me taking videos while working.
Definitely a different style of video ! I think the heater would of been better on the other side where it’s protected from the direct wind... I’m familiar with these and they give little heat to be effective in the open area. But to be honest if it was my job I’d be advising to use a proper 12V heat mat suitable to go under the bedding. It would be more effective, a third of the power consumption and lot safer.... for about twice the cost. Not being negative, just adding my views as you asked 👍 Cheers for the content.
Hi Lammy, thanks for the comments. It’s always good to get a different point of view.
What's your opinion on the 9118? I've got one but not used any other mft other than dilog as yet. As always everyone is Megger mar but just wondering if you are of the same opinion if given the choice.
I haven’t had any issues with the 9118. They’re all you need for most of the work you will do. If you’re living in a more rural area where you might be installing earth rods, then maybe go for a Megger. Otherwise, not a lot of point paying through the nose. Like most of the top brands they’re trading on their name.
@@pwaelectricalltd29 I'm glad you are of the same opinion. I work on holiday parks so even with TT systems I don't see any problem with the dilog gear and actually there service is 10/10 in my opinion and I even got a live demo through one of their team free of charge over zoom. Can't imagine Megger doing that on a one to one basis.
I can’t imagine any other manufacturers doing that 😀. They’re a good British made product.
Love the videos, keep them coming.
Thanks Harry. That gives me more of an incentive to get my next one uploaded. Have a great weekend. Cheers.
Nice video. What leads are you using mate? I prefer the new colours so use Brown phase blue neutral and green earth on my Di-Log but the leads look nice and have a great low resistance??? Best regards, Scott. ✌️🙏✌️
Thanks Scott, I’m using the leads that came with the 9118. Did you get your leads from Di-Log? Cheers Paul.
Really good video, this is amazing content for apprentices. Keep it up
Thanks A1 Electrical. I really appreciate your comments. I’m hoping to have a bit more time to get some other content out too.
Great video with good in depth explanation.
Thanks for your feedback. I’m trying to get more content out. I’m just struggling to find the time. Hopefully something else coming over the weekend.
Really appreciate your comments. Thanks.
Hi. Well explained for apprentices out there Also like your on screen display on guide Been in the industry 30 odd years and your teaching well Still thinking about buying the dilog MFT and I’m getting closer to making my mind up…… dilog should sponsor you as your first on CZcams to demo there equipment well Hope your channel grows well Real content 👍👍
Hi Tom, many thanks again for your kind comments. I really like the DL9118. It’s easy to use, batteries seem to last well, great big screen and everything is clear. I like the fact that it also inhibits tests if >30v found while carrying out Continuity, IR tests, it also displays the voltage present and turns the screen red. I’m not a massive fan of the auto test in continuity mode for obtaining low value ohm readings, it’s better to just keep it on the standard one press mode. It bounces around a little too much in auto mode, fine though if your just belling something out. I will get some more content up purely on the DL9118 functionality. I thought I’d give you this feedback in the hope that it may help you further in your decision. Cheers again.
Hi good vid …… I am in the market for a new MFT ….. I’m a bit reluctant on buying another megga. Been keeping an eye on the di log 9118 not many sparks using it Your the first to show in-depth functions so looking forward to your up coming di log vids 👍
Thanks Tom, I have one in editing now. It should be uploaded for the weekend.
What a great review thank you lovely looking bag I think that might be my next investment
Thanks a lot. Highly recommend the bag.
Great review mate 👍
Thanks Peter.
Wow I hadn’t noticed how much the camera wobbled when I put the bag down! Probably should have watched the video all the way through before uploading! 😂
