I completely agree, finishing 8th and getting knocked out of the champions league is unacceptable for a club of United’s size, and you’re right in saying the carabao cup isn’t exactly the most respected trophy, but it’s still a trophy regardless and Ten Hag’s become the only United manager to win trophies in back to back years since Fergie so however badly he may be doing in the league (which I would blame on the injury crisis rather than the manager) I still think he’s done better than any United manager since Fergie except maybe Jose, and the manager market is terrible right now, keeping Ten Hag is the best option for us in my eyes.

I’ve been behind Ten Hag the whole time and I think you’re spot on my friend. City are probably the best team in the world right now and considering they’d just won 4 in a row and we’d had our lowest premier league table finish ever I didn’t think we stood a chance in this game to be honest, but the FA cup is magic as we saw earlier this year against Liverpool when we won 4-3, and the Manchester derby really can go to either team on the day it’s very unpredictable. Regardless this was an incredible result for the club that meant the world and it’s probably my happiest memory as a United fan since Fergie won the league.
