    I have enjoyed listening to this exercise. Thank you. And I love your expression that there are 7 million people to attach our needs to (although I haven't yet found a way to get physical support from any of the 7 million people!) Could you tell me what whether you are saying to move the needs from colume 1 (and subsequent columes) to any other colums, or to copy it across to another colume?

    • @magicdarragh
      @magicdarragh Před 6 měsíci

      Sorry to hear that. Hopefully a year later you've found others in your life who help you meet your needs. In answer to your question, I'm pretty sure recognising that needs in one column are also applicable in another doesn't negate the first. So write them down in all the relevant columns. And keep in mind our needs can change as well as our strategies for meeting them. All the best!

    For me it is the most powerful video I've seen in some time. I love the sharp metaphor, can totally connect to it. And I love the idea of getting comfortable bit by bit. Being kind to myself on the way. For some reason sometimes I'm expecting myself to be "perfect" and have it all under control. That obviously creates more pressure. And finally I am so grateful for the practice! I've never seen this angle before. I have heard "being comfortable with my discomfort" and it annoyed me as I couldn't feel it. Now I'm a tiny step closer to it. Just sensing that there is something I don't want to feel. And checking with myself, how this sensation is for me. Thank you Aga for this gift!

    You can see how she really used the model in real life as soon as the Indian lady mentioned about changing her model which she created...watch how she says “oh that’s interesting “ (WAIT Chair) and then move into the (Self Aware chair) to where she moves and asks “how would you use the other chairs...?” (Purple chair). To where after the response she moves it back into suggesting “it is the wait chair” hence being assertive Impressive to see how she preaches what she speaks about!

    Hi. I have found the clown archetype interesting for a while, and hearing this has took my understanding deeper and was very enjoyable. I am excited because the idea of clowning gives a new area of NVC to explore. The surrender to the now and dropping the concern of doing things the "right" way is a relaxing thought, I am often tense in worry. Clowning sounds fun, and I think I could use the idea to have abit more fun in my life. For some years now I have been thinking a big question is "is there enough abundance for everyone to have rewarding lives?" so Marianne's desire to help create a sense of abundance resonates with me, it's encouraging to know that people share in this valuing of abundant fulfillment for everyone. Thank you for this interview and this channel, NVC has helped me better meet many needs (my own and others) instead of struggling so hard, just to be left estranged from myself and others. I am happy this channel exist, I like having a CZcams source to the topic of NVC, I am very grateful, thank you.

    This was a lovely interview and thank you for sharing! One thing I noticed today when I attempted to mediate between a couple that are friends with my wife and I, was that in the process of being present while the female poured out her pain, I was pulled into the sorrow when I heard her cries for support and help behind the words of judgment. As the tears welled up in my eyes I wondered if identifying with the needs and feeling with emotion had any impact on our connection, or whether to just allow the tears to flow as they will. I withdrew from her story so I could be more objective and say how hard it must be for her to not get the support from her partner when his involvement in her life means soo much. I wonder if anyone can relate or speak to that? Are we losing our quality of connection by feeling the emotion of another? Are we suddenly becoming "full of them" instead of "fully with them" As Marshall describes it when drawing the NVC distinction between sympathy and empathy?

    • @marycandullo526
      @marycandullo526 Před 4 lety

      Hello Nicholas- to be fully with someone empathically through NVC, my understanding is to self-connect first. I risk to say that during that time you were pulled into the sorrow, you were experiencing the aliveness of feelings and needs. I believe your action of withdrawing was to disconnect to support yourself. The quality of the connection, to me, is constantly in flux because of our feelings and needs. Thank you for sharing your experience, I appreciate the NVC connection. With warmth, Mary

    When I see a new episode of NVC Connect, I light up with excitement. Thanks to Madi and everyone who contributes to make this show. I met Sylvia at the NVC Conference last year as a fellow presenter. It was great to hear the news that there are 500+ certification candidates, of which you Madi are one. ☝️ Congrats and I look forward to more watching your content. 🙏🏾 Cory
