Welcome to the History & More channel. As would seem apparent with that name, a lot of the content of the channel is history related. I enjoy doing videos of history of all eras. I do my best to provide content that is informative , but most of all entertaining.
The "& More" part of the channel name means that I will almost assuredly provide some content that falls outside the history genre. I want to keep my options open with respect to subject matter I will explore.
Thanks for watching any or all of the channel videos. If you take a liking to any of it, please subscribe.

🕊Tku for the real history ; Sounds more logical than the dancing and room service fantasy. Im sure Josi brought in the prostitutes and Wyatt did the gambling etc...
Just a great movie!! Loved it!!! A classic!!
Duval & Jones never disappoint.
I bet those Butcher bros didn't do much wrong other than owning a bank that competed with the Rothschild's. Oh o the Rothschild's would not have that.
Common law
Heres to toxic masculinity💪🤠
Even though we lost the Civil War, it is nice for others to know that not everyone that fought for the South were bad people and not everyone who fought for the North were good people. Both sides were human beings and both sides have committed their own atrocities.
Best western series ever made
Second favorite western ever made (right behind Tom Selleck's Monte Walsh). Gus McCrae is, in my opinion, one of the archetypes of the model man that all young men should aspire to be like (if they're not going to try and be like Aragorn, Faramir, Hawkeye (from MASH, not Marvel!), or Diego de la Vega). None of this fluff and bluster you get from these "alpha male" influencers. Honesty, integrity, intelligence, and enjoys having a good time.
I feel like this is very strange framing. This is pointing towards the union workers being the aggressors, and not the victims in this scenario. They refused to be pushed around by capitalist thugs and stood their ground.
I have held Jack Henson rifle and I ha b e visited the cave on the bluff where lived during the war many times. The rifle is owned by the descendants of a Dr. Anderson of Nashville. The rifle was a gift from Nathan Bedford Forrest after the war. Jack gave it to Forrest after the war.
Duvall is one of the greatest actors I’ve seen in my lifetime, seventy years old
I liked the equality they portrayed with Danny glover. Recognizeing his ability as a scout and the fact that he worked as hard as any of the rest of them .
The most impressive script I have ever heard in a film
Billy himself called it "a scratch shot". He didn't really expect it to hit. That fact in itself would suggest that it WAS 1,538 yards, not just 1,000, which would have been relatively easy for somebody with Billy's skill. Also, there's the fact that he didn't think his 45-90 had the range. He could have easily made a 1,000 yard shot with a smaller 45-70. The Army measured the shot with a primitive wagon mounted pedometer.
I like watching it until Gus rides off chasing the buffalo then it's just a depressive series. Deets & Gus
Thanks my fav as well great movie Tommy Lee and Robert Duval fantastic
How is this not a movie, 600 yards back than amazing. What a legend.
NICE
Maybe a hoard of whores
The best movie ever.
All of the high points of Mr. Duvall's career that you point out are, indeed, worthy of mentioning. I do think you passed over a very important one when said (@1:25) "in mid-sized roles in several films in the sixties". In 1969 Robert Duvall played 'Lucky' Ned Pepper in True Grit opposite John Wayne. Such an iconic movie and cast. It deserved to be mentioned.
J is pronounced like a h in spanish the i is pronounced like a e the ll is pronounced like a y pronounced it right you sound ridiculous
Thanks for this, great to see the pics of the home he had and of the cave. I have read the book about Jack and what a fabulous shot he must have been but also what an amazing rifle he owned. I wonder if anything of Jacks family home where he lived before the war is still visible.
What is difficult is trying to get through the first 30 minutes.... I have never made it past that!!!
My favorite "I don't want to cut Jake out of nothing, I just want a poke."
DEO VINDICE !!!
My favorite as well! Nobody can talk and shake their head to one side and stay on point. Came across this looking for where to watch Lonesome Dove.
Custer could have learned much from Carson’s military tactics. Thank you for this video.
Incredible shot even with today's modern rifles and ammunition 1000 yd shot is a challenge that shot changed the minds of the bravest of the braves
wyatt was a gun grabber
You got the last 2 in reverse order. "Rude behavior" should have been number 1. It is one of the greatest scenes in any movie ever made. It's iconic.
If you're gonna show scenes from Lonesome Dove, then play the original music.
Great video thanks 👍
Evidences fond 180+ years after the fact some with at best questionable province. So is take your choice. I figure it will be 10 years or so that a new "diary" of equally questionable value will claim Crocket begged on bended knee. 10 years after that he will have been sent into exile in mexico never haveing been heard of again etc etc
You are doing an excellent job. Loved the Harvey ❤❤❤
I don't know why your so down on WHORES Woodrow, you've had your share! As I recall!
Is she a WHORE!! Gus. Dr says of course she's a WHORE! Well give her 10 dollars and tell her to keep playing.😢
Well I'll be your WHORE then. "Gus to Lori"
“WOD FIR”
The perfomance of this on Audible is prettty good as well.
Possible but not probable 800 yards tops .
Dixon allegedly knocked an Indian warrior from his horse with a single shot at what was latter surveyed to be 1538 yards. Dixon himself said it was simply a lucky shot, while others have said that the event never happened at all, or that the hapless Indian was on a much closer butte about 700 to 800 yards distant. Regardless the Billy Dixon Shot” has been discussed and debated now for well over 100 years. Reply
still great stuff
I have a few corrections to your video. The Colonel's name was SIBLEY, not Silby. He was a Minnesota Governor and as I recall also a Congressman. There were actually 38 Indians that were hung, not 39. One received a last minute change in his sentence to imprisonment.
One of my all time favorites Lonesome Dove, we all love. 😊
Those two leads are perfect for Duval and Tommy Lee Jones.
Duval in general is one the finest American actors of any generation, not flashy or over the top performances, but solid work time after time. Hes been overlooked because of that in my opinion. If Lonesome Dove was a film ; that was an Oscar performance all day long. For me it's between Lonesome Dove and Unforgiven ; they're both immaculate.
"We don't rent pigs"!!!! Hahahaha
Lonesome Dove and Dances With Wolves are the only movies that I have watched multiple times and know most of them! They haven't made a good Western since?!
