i’m french who lives in the north surburbs of paris, tbh, there’s no « bad or good » neighborhood in paris, anything can be at everywhere. What do i mean by that is even if ofc there’s places that’re quite tough, sadly because of precarity, drugs and police repression, at day and with a carefull caution, paris’s kinda fine. If you wanna some tips for the Olympics tourists, here’s some places that may be more enjoyable and unpleasent (that’s subjective ofc and it depends on ur perspection) - Few familly friendly places and kinda « low cost » for hotels - • Area of La Fourche, Porte de Clichy, Clichy (Surburb near of paris), Saint Ouen (North of the city only, the east and the Landy’s area is still kinda complicated) • Very safe and quite neighborhoods - You’ll find metro line 14 (from south airport, to center of paris and the stadium) and 13 (Nicknamed as the line of hell btw), RER C(Internal and Surburbs parisian train) • Area of Vanves, Malakoff, Porte de Versailles, Porte de Vanves and Porte d’Orléans. Located on the south of Paris, you’ll find metro line 13, 12, 4 and RER B (From North Charles de Gaulle airport, to the south’s one) Very quite as well • Area of La Plaine Saint Denis (you’ve to be carefull with this one, it is located above porte de la Chapelle and under the Stadium, this area is renovated and very cozy, i recomand to avoid places around as Aubervilliers • 15th arrondissement, 14th, north 17th, top north 13th (south is good as well, around Maison blanche area). • Around gare de Lyon, area of Aligre, Charonne and Bastille (ancient popular neighborhoods which saw the gentrification and radical changes) - Places to « avoid » (especially with ur familly) • Gare du Nord/Gare de l’Est (drug traffic) • From Place de Clichy to Jaurès stations on metro line 2 • Porte de Clignancourt, Porte d’Aubervilliers, Porte de La Villette (but few metters aside, there’s ironicaly an huge park, that’s really great to visit with ur familly, and the « Cité des sciences » muséum/center), Porte de Bagnolet and Porte d’Ivry. • Barbès/La goutte d’or area • Stalingrad (sadly the worst place of paris according to me today) - Touristic places to « avoid » or be carefull with • Grands Boulevards (very animated but hell expensive on the restaurants) • Montmartre/Moulin rouge • Champs Elysées Well that was few of them, but that could give you and idea of which places you should be awarded of. [Important: please, dont think as well that areas like north/east of paris are « bad zones to avoid ». Every places in paris has the chance to carry a part of history, social local caracteristics. As i said, in Paris anywhere can be more « dangerous » than the touristic friendly vibe, or the quiete districts. Just stay cautious everywhere, especially in the transports. Oh and random info but if you wanna have a modern and animated familly dinner, i recomand you to learn more on the Gaité station on metro line 13, it is near from gare Montparnasse, you’ll find a bunch of international restaurants etc.. very enjoyable (it is called Ateliers Gaités) I hope it helped, have a nice and pleasant trip :)

Just came back today from Puglia. Visited Touristic regions mostly. So prices were not that low. However since it is an agricultural society, it has outstanding products and food. I rank Puglia as the second best region in Italy after Tuscany, my favorite. Also I dont understand people's exitement about Spain. I find Spaniards distant, their cuisine oily, and their country overrated. Italy on the other hand, with its culture, music, food, people, architecture, sceneries is stunning. If I ever retire somewhere outside of home, it will be in Italy.

My ex and I loved Tropea and Pizzo. We almost bought a sea view villa in Zambrone. It had a small yard overlooking the Terrenean Sea and beach. The coastline of Capo Vaticano is gorgeous.
