Great video. I wasn’t sure about what to do after the bondo glass. Using the fiberglass sheets to add the hard structural layer makes sense and I wasn’t accounting for that at all. Cheap and easy way to double down on structural integrity. (I hit a hidden rock 50’ off shore coming in yesterday and am doing this similar repair)
Thanks, glad it helped
You’re missing a washer 😂
Hi, Mike thank you for the video, we did everything and wowrked but we couldn't put back the air box cover, seem that got bigger, any ideas?
Big Help. I ended up not removing the last fuel line with the clamp from the tank, cause i feel like imma break it if I do. 😅.
Glad it helped
It has two buttons you need to push to take it off, you can’t just yank it
What were the voltage readings, you did not show them
great stuff. used your instruction to find a hole in a customers 2020 Yamaha waverunner.
Glad it helped
I have a question about a repair I need to do on my jetski if you don't mind. I have a 97 seadoo xp that I traded some rc car stuff for and when I got it home realized it was in a little bit rougher shape than I thought. Anyway around the front bumper where the two hulls are riveted together a couple of the rivets completely broke out the fiberglass so I was wondering how I should go about patching that up so I can drill new holes through and re-rivet it back together. Thank you
I guess it would depend on how damaged the holes are. Are you able to open and clean up the hole and use the next size up rivet? If not, we use some 2 part stuff called Hysol on aircraft when we have issues like that and need to fill and re drill holes on a composite piece. It takes forever to cure but when it does, it's the same strength as metal.
@MikeT it's hard to explain but the 2 holes that connect the front bumper are completely drilled out so the hole is now a horseshoe like it was drilled out. Gonna need to form some fiberglass to fill the gap of the whole and I'm just not sure how to begin lol. Wish I could show you a picture
Why is the oil feed cable on the rear not snapping back like the one in the front it seems like a spring or something isn't connected please help
How do we get the side covers off?
There are no side covers that need to be removed on the Sport 1000s
@@MikeT GT1000 sorry..
How would you start if it was a hole all the way through?
Either start on the inside and put a few layers of fiberglass cloth down or bond a thin piece of sheet metal to the inside and the build the repair off of that from the outside the same as shown in the video
Where did you get the paint at? And is there a code I need to use? We’re doing the same thing to our seadoos
Pinned comment
Do you have to drain the oil do one of these? I know most of the oil is up in the tank.
How much oil did you use?
Saíste um belo de um sapateiro!
I want to thank you for helping me troubleshoot my bike. Turns out it is the relay.
Great, glad it helped
is it possible to remove it and keep driving
man thanks for the video, I wish you would have left a link to the screwdriver for that screw, i have multiple precision small screwdriver kits and nada, searching on amazon for swiss mechanism specific
I am a mechanic and have a very vast set of tools. That was a screwdriver that I inherited probably 20 years ago. I wouldnt know where to get one. Pretty sure it is just part of an eye glasses screwdriver set though.
Yeah I think its a .6 or a .8 cause its the only ones i dont have, lol @@MikeT
Mines making a buzzing noise I changed the relay any suggestions
Are you getting power to the starter?
Where can you get a replacement spring screw? Mine went flying never to be found again.
Same lol. I just used one of the 3 that hold the movement in. Not sure the size or specs of it but I think you might be able to get a kit with various small water screws in it.
Where did you find the trouble shooting procedure sir can you post or link that information im sure its the same for my 08 700 grizzly but want to make sure thank you in advance
In the manufactures manual
@geotgang591 - Did you find a copy of this? I would be interested in it as well.
Can you tell me if you put in an oem starter or was it aftermarket..
I dont remember, sorry

@@MikeT I ordered a new starter from Amazon last night and it will be here on Wednesday. Thanks again, I'm sure it will save me a load of time and cash if I had to take it to the dealer for repair.
Did you use an O.E.M. starter or what is a good after market? Thanks for an excellent video
I dont remember, sorry
Thanks for video 😊

sweet
I' impressed by your stand.
Would the screws not just go in directly without the use of a drill bit?

Thanks for the great service you have provided. Lightfoot
I followed this video almost to the 'T' and everything went exactly as described on my '81 CB - thank you! And my shafts were well lubricated in the process:)
Glad it helped
I'm here now for my confession. After I let a kid start up my Kodiak for fun, it later refused to start. I checked everything - connections, switches, fuses, battery, grounds, relay, even regulator. NO LUCK. Then I sat on the quad and tried to remember what he might have done while sitting on it. Then I discovered a very small button I NEVER KNEW EXISTED under the starter switch - the engine kill switch. So after replacing the solenoid and almost submitting to a mechanic for help, I found the problem. The kid had hit that button by accident I never knew it. I told my wife I had finally found a loose plastic wire connector, so we'll leave it at that.
😂😂
Never knew this existed either ... Thank you!
? Why is it in neutral?
Because it's hard to push when it's in park...
