Beam Pro - Infinite Multi App Freeform Windows
Run as many applications/windows as your RAM will allow. All completely resizable and repositionable. All with 3dof/tracking/stabilization.
It is a little rough around the edges, but it works! Hopefully will be more usable with more updates to NebulaOS.
The main improvement to this setup would be for NebulaOS to allow DPI/Density resizing to make the UI/text in these floating windows smaller.
Would also be nice to resize/reduce/hide the middle area between two NebulaOS app windows.
Other than that, mainly some stability issues with pressing back on some windows.

Using Nova launcher Shortcut Maker Most launchers can't be used in full screen mode as it stays in foreground, so you can only have 1 app own at a time, but opening a launcher in windowed mode and treating it as a folder works. Again, sorry recording is jittery/laggy. That's just how recording footage on beam turns out. Smooth in actual use.

How about streamio to vlc??? On Android phones obviously you set streamio to open in VLC player externally. Does it actually open vlc as the player with streamio?

How's stremio 👀 on it?? And does it have CZcams? Were you able to try wireless samsung dex with it?
Stremio worked fine. Didn't get CZcams as Google play services didn't work for the preproduction unit - I used Astron to log into CZcams. Somehow I couldn't get Miracast to work, but it's supposed to. Chromecast from my pixel phone worked though

Moonlight unfortunately does not have the capability to run multiple screens at a time. But you can use different RDTs. You can use moonlight and parsec at the same time for example.

Thank you for this, and yes, it is inspiring. It's been just over a month since you posted. If you were going to start over, would you make any changes to your setup? Would you still get the EM780 with the same specs? Do you think the Xreal Air 2 pro would be worth the extra $$?
Sorry for the late reply. I still find this setup fantastic. I started to dual boot linux on it and use breezy productivity desktop so I can get smooth follow/anchored screens without the beam. Runs more light weight than xreal nebula
@@Katsuyamaki Thank you for the reply! I went ahead and got the EM780 and installed EndeavourOS on it. I has some issues with random crashes but I solved them. I'll have to check out breezy. I'm considering the Viture Pro XR. Also, I went with the ZMI PowerPack No. 20. Its more expensive, but I can game with it and plug & unplug it from the wall without interruption to the EM780.
Now that we know how to remove them, time to start printing better made/more comfortable versions of them.
Yes, you could definitely easily remove the arms casing and put your own custom one if you wanted.
But you can't close the arms anymore... where do you keep the glasses?
whats the average battery you can get with that powerbank size?
I'll tell you the math, it's useful to learn it. I generally limit my mini PC when on battery to 10-15 watts. This is good for productivity, AR screens (I use Armoni), or even light gaming. To convert 20,000 mah battery(3.7 volt for lithium ion) to watt hours: 20,000mah x 3.7v / 1000 = 74 watt hours. So 74 watt hours/15 watts = 4.9 hours.

@@Katsuyamaki Does your power bank also work as a UPS? If not, I found a couple of options that do but more expensive (also 25% more capacity, on paper). The closest in price would be the UGREEN Power Bank 25,000mAh 145W (sale for $80, reg $120). The highest reviewed I found was the ZMI PowerPack No. 20, QB826G 25000 mAh ($160). There is a good channel that tests both, AllThingsOnePlace.

I went with a mini pc myself, BOSGAME H68 16gb. its loud at times. I think i'll use it as my primary solution for moving location when working.

This is way more powerful. It's full windows 11 and can run modern AAA PC games even. Samsung Dex had too many limitations for me.

what's the usage of such portable setup?
Similar to using a steamdeck/handheld gaming device. But this is more powerful and can fully replace your main PC (if you aren't playing AAA games on high settings.) I travel/am mobile a lot for work, so I bring this setup with me and always have all the files/processing power I need for work. When I have downtime, I can game on it. I also take it on long walks with the dog / dog park. Or just hanging out outside on a nice day. I use it inside at home too because I can easily use on the recliner chair/couch/bed and be in a much more comfy position than at a desk.
More people should try different portable setups
I think I've inspired a few in the Xreal community to get a miniPC.
Does not help. The optics project smaller image than V1. You would have to have your eyes much closer to the glass to see the complete image without smudged edges. Bad design, unsolvable.
