Loved that club, it was the perfect place. Coming out to find the car at the end of the night was a bit tricky though 😂

Was never a big fan of techno but when Lenny Dee played the Underground it was something else, he tore the arse out of it, had to be seen/heard to be believed.

I only went to one night at Sterns which was an under 18 event as I was quite young but when it re-opened as the mansion house I was a regular. I was the driver most nights in my Vauxhall Nova SR and I remember the endless dual carriage ways driving down from Crawley but when you got close you could see the laser they would point up in the sky like a religious beacon calling all followers to gather. The underground room was always a sweaty mess but had some of the best nights down there sometimes went Friday and Saturday.

This has got to be one of the best sets I have heard on the internet

would be really cool if there was something along the lines of tracks that stir emotion, I know its subjective but two for me is 2 X-Treme - X-Treme Theme, One Tribe Ft Gem - What Have You Done (Original Mix) and the sublimely gorgeous M.A.N.I.C. - I'm Comin' Hardcore (Remix) '92. it still sends shivers down my spine after all these years.

Hiya, me again😂 you were right I did like the 94 mix, but cant say I loved it like the 3 years before, i think like a lot of people say the scene was changing in 94-95 it was never what I call true hardcore again. Can someone please invent time travel i want one more night in the Underground of Sterns....

Late 91 and all of 92 was the best for me, listening to this i forgot 93 was still up there, i went off it a bit in 94. Still gonna watch the 94 episode though. Thanks again😊

I just wonder what the scene would have looked like without Matt in it ? He shaped so much, and it panned out a lot along with his vision tbh in terms of music, and just being one of the best DJ's to ever do it. So thankful he's still around.

most of the time when you hear these tunes the video compression and age or copying or ripping off cd or any number of other things all fuck it up but these are sounding so good it feels like i can actually listen to what it would've sounded like back then, such a huge thing for this older stuff, i appreciate you old rave heads who appreciate all aspects of this culture that i never got to be apart of apart from late night CZcams dives. you are preserving one of the greatest turning points in history and i appreciate the shit out of you mate for putting it into a digestible format, it's hard to get into this stuff if you havent been a part of it, modern day rave music is insane in a lot of ways but there is a certain feeling that seems hasn't been recreated

Amazing Jake, you captured it perfectly, I started going mid 91 all the way through to the last night in August 93. I also used to do the journey down the A24😂. This video brought back so many memories, still got all the flyers the monthly news letters and my membership cards. I visited early this year, it took me a while to get my bearings, was chatting to a couple on the next table to us turns out he was a bouncer back in the day. Loved that place, so many good nights. Got the mix saved in favourites now. Anyway thanks for this video.

Lived in Worthing all my life and used to goto sterns before acid house came along. I can remember going to the very first rave called Purple Haze which was put on buy some friends of mine. Then along came Mensa and completely changed it. All though I went to loads of parties up there, being a local. We used to use it more of a back up and travel all around the country to different raves Sterns was rammed every single week. I still miss those days now as it was truly life changing although that could be those little white birds.
