It’s funny; I feel like waxwork records does this with most of their “soundtracks”-but they were more honest on this release. On some like house on haunted hill, there are only like 10 minutes of music
@@mrmansion8672 Yeah to be honest it's a really cool concept but I'd probably rather have just the straight soundtrack with this one still a badass release though.

@@Voyag3r I listened to the entire record yesterday and it really hits different without the visual (though I could picture every scene in my head) overall just a really good score but also a comfort factor with this one at least to me that is.

Awesome pick ups bro! Just something about the chunky feel of VHS and the nostalgia aspect makes me want to collect old horror VHS as well, all I currently have on VHS is the old star wars trilogy lol. I even found an old VCR at the salvation army in case I want to throw one on and enjoy the fuzzy lack of high definition haha. Never been to a horror con, but it's on my list of things to do. Hope you get some relief from that pain and feel better soon!

@@fstgeorge Oh hell yeah you'd love a horror con then brother I would have done a walk through video if it wasn't for the foot. I did find out what going on it's a heel spur and I just got done scheduling my appointment with a specialist on Tuesday so here's hoping for the best. I appreciate the support brother

I just picked up The War from the Kino Lorber sale. I haven't gotten around to watching it yet though. I would definitely buy a Bloodsport 4K box set. Die Hard needs a whole collection box set hopefully Sony can convince Disney to let them release them.
Awesome haul bro, especially that Die Hard Christmas edition! It doesn't feel like Christmas without a little yippie ki yay. Definitely take the time you need to heal up and get better though man! Injuries are no joke and we all are pulling for you. Not sure what I'll be watching tonight, but it will probably be something horror haha. Get better soon!
@@fstgeorge Thanks brother I appreciate the kind words. I went to the doctor's today but there X-ray machine was broke so I have to schedule a time to go somewhere else for then. Until then they gave me a walking boot and 3 days off work.

arrow releases are not that great imo the movies i mean, they jazz it up but the movies are ok usually or lately
@@papmasterOST I can agree with you there I guess I just like that they put out new stuff unlike Scream Factory over the past couple years because imo those are the two best boutique labels. Some chunky box sets have been fire though like True Romance, An American Werewolf In London, Carlitos Way, and Tremors etc

No need to worry about a slip for that Fear and Loathing. Criterion releases don’t come with slips. They rarely add slips, but if they do, you’ll never miss out on it. It’ll always be offered as they were upon release. Unless Criterion loses the license and it goes oop. In regards to that Purple Rain slip, I'd return it myself. Especially if it was an Amazon order. Sweet haul dude. Love your vids. 💯🤘🏻
Oh okay I feel better about it now then I remember getting one for Menace To Society that's why I was confused I don't order much Criterion. I ended up returning Purple Rain should get my new copy today and thank you brother it's comments like that that keep me going!

I still need to check out Apocalypse Now myself. Django is awesome! Ghost World was ok. The opening song was stuck in my head for says & I have no idea what they were saying lol. That German flick looks insane. Great pickups!

@@alydematti I have to experience Terrifier 3 in the theater on the opening night from what I heard about part 2 people were puking and passing out in thr theaters. Not that that's an ideal setting for me but in a world that is so used to everything the idea on movie getting those reactions from people is a big part of what's missing in horror imo back in the day people used to actually get scared. I dk I'm rambling now but yeah I have to see this I'm the theater
Solid team. Russell is one of my favourite as well. I'm a massive animal lover and especially cats. Definitely feed them kittens and try and get them sorted if you can 👍
@@bal5884 I ended up going up to the store and grabbing a bag of kitten dry food and I'm so glad I did because they way they were eating showed me how hungry the really were. I'm gonna keep on eye on them not sure what I'll do in the long run but I'm gonna make sure they get taken care of.

Apoc Now is 1 of my all-time favorites in any genre ...Inglorious Basterds has moved to #1 as far as Tarantino films for me but Django is great also ... been a while, but I remember really liking Lair of the White Worm too. Its actually been in my Amazon queue forever lol

Nice! I remember seeing Hot Fuzz in the theater I love that one and the whole Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy for that matter. I've never even heard of A Fish Called Wanda or Ghost World I'm gonna have to look into those ones.

@@hvitekristesdod Hot Fuzz is my least favorite out of the three because I love SOTD so much and really like The World's End I love the story. That's no disrespect to Hot Fuzz it's more of a testament to how good all three are and I agree though Hot Fuzz is the best when it comes to the script and how it was put together. Shit you're making wanna watch all three today LOL I'll definitely look into those two though and will probably end up buying them because I have issues with buying too many movies lmao

Hey, man, loved the video! I tend to lurk and not comment but this is also something that's pretty important to me, and since you invited everyone in the comments to share our stories, I figured I'd throw my hat in the ring. I'm a lot like you in that I grew up around video rental stores and I had a lot of relatives with huge VHS (and eventually DVD) collections, and I always wanted a collection of my own, but at first I approached it kind of casually. When I was starting out at my first job and learning to budget it was buying a DVD that I really wanted every once in a while and otherwise just waiting for my birthday or Christmas to roll around. It was actually Netflix that really spurred my collecting though. In early 2013, Netflix had like, every X-Men cartoon there was on the platform and I got super excited. My husband and I were on our first anniversary and had really gotten into sharing stuff we loved from childhood and I was kinda like "oh dude, the X-Men cartoons are on Netflix, I wanna watch them with you", because he'd never seen them. Lo and behold, we barely got into watching them when Netflix started pulling them off the platform. The worst was we'd gotten 7 episodes into one of the cartoons and were binge-watching, but when Netflix tried to autoplay the next one, it got stuck and crashed because they pulled that title AS WE WERE WATCHING. And this was before they got on the ball with putting up those banner alerts about "this title is leaving in 2 weeks" or whatever, so we had to contact Netflix about the crash and they told us it happened because the cartoon got pulled. Husband was disappointed but I was livid. Ever since, I've been hardcore into collecting physical media, especially if it's something we love. Still have to budget, still have to take time to really plan for more expensive titles, and I'm still learning a lot. There are so many awesome sites dedicated to selling physical media and the secondhand market has been good to us (mostly; there've been some misfires and duds and whatnot,) but even if I'm still learning to this day after 11 years of collecting, it's a lot of fun and it's hella worth it. Well I'm glad you decided to comment and join the conversation! I absolutely love that story about showing your husband the X-Men cartoon because there is nothing like sharing something you love with someone you love. That's a prime example on why streaming can suck and crazy how it was pulled mid watch. I feel at times streaming sites are almost threatening like how the cable companies used to be like "two weeks left you better watch" that's why I bought the complete series of certain shows like the Office, Shameless, and South Park I love those shows and can watch them anytime I want. Once again I appreciate you doing the chat and sharing your story and thanks as always for watching I really appreciate it. Physical Media forever!

I totally share your sentiments on collecting. I grew up around vhs tapes and dvds and at one point decided to start my own collection that I’ve been growing and curating for at least 15 years now. Movies have always been super important to me and I love being able to have a physical copy that I can revisit whenever I want! I do stream a lot of movies but if I like things enough I’ll eventually add them to my collection, and like you said.. a lot of titles aren’t available to stream anywhere so if you have them in your collection it feels extra special and like you’re keeping it from being forgotten.
Exactly! One of the best parts of starting this channel is talking to so many cool and like minded people like I don't feel like a pretentious movie fan like some others can be like if someone streams that's cool as long as you're watching movies that's awesome but at the same time I feel like it's almost like a cool secret club when I talk with other collectors. Long live physical media!
