Thinking about swapping my x spec miata.

Nice bit of info although some of the info goes back and forth on itself and seems semi-contradictory?? As someone in Oz, there is a bunch of extra considerations (RHD/local regulations/etc) but this video certainly helps with a few in-between ideas. If there are any guys here (or on the FB page) in Oz, I would appreciate combining some knowledge. Thanx. Greg 😎

Mines exact same.. 14 months old.. no warranty.. shows 0 rpm when cranking. Apparently there is a known ECU issue with "over voltage".. I parked mine truck up a year ago and bought a diesel truck.. so despondent with Holley

What about wiring?

Are the bushings connecting the Shift knob to the trans the same on all gearboxes ? Could you put an MX5 short shifter in a FC for exemple ?

There is a small nut just like the other cars. That little metal nub is a cap on it. Just a heads up

know im late to this. im having a similar issue but not exactly. my car starts and runs (rich as hell) aslong as i keep my foot slighty on the pedal 1/16 maybe. but it reads no rpms and says STALL . Cant even get the ecu to keep any changes. sent to holley hopefully they can get it fixed.

What happened with the issue that you had with the efi sniper. I have not spark in my efi. I don't know how to deal with it.

Yea it’s not rebuilt is you use used parts it’s called slapped back together

I have a 12a bridgeport. 40mm chokes, F11 tubes, 185 mains and 130 air correctors, 20 deg timing locked dizzy. 3rd progression hole.

You mentioned you like the rx7 trans with miata tail, and that it makes it easy to find where to put your engine mounts. is engine mount placment more difficult with the miata trans and new housing (and input shaft)

I have an 12a 1983 fb rx7 and it makes bearing noise in every gear but 4th. Could i put an na miata box if i swap the bell housing? Is the shorter inputshaft a problem?

Does this work with a a 13b rew from an FD rx7?

So I have a 12a Bridgeport with a top mount starter ,I have a miata 5speed box to go with it and the bellhousing in the middle with the starter down bottom left,which starter do I run and what do I do about where the other one goes lol

I notice you have the ccp fabrication hardtop, is it removable? I was thinking of getting one for mine but I want to be able to take it off during the summer like a regular hardtop. I just love the styling of the fastback so much more

Dude get corded saws.all from harbor freight! Get pneumatic grinder or corded grinder. Cordless is great and all but time is money and you're wasting time with cordless tools. I bet cuts Sawzall time in half. Also welding supply store sells metal Sawzall blades and are made of tool steel. Cuts thick stainless fast. Sheet metal is like cutting butter. Easy to control blades Also and .99c each. Would you still buy this kit or another different kit. I got a new idea on fitting larger drivers. Actually 3 ideas made as a kit would work. I'll share soon. This is going to be awesome upgrades. If I make kits I'll hook you up and you review it honestly. Regardless if like it or not but I think 6'2" tall might be possible. Besides being cool for better fit but one other thing upgraded...

As a professional fabricator with well over 40 years experience I was given the task of installing one of these kits from 5X and I will say it is a well thought out kit and they have made the installation a straight forward process for anyone with a hand grinder with a six inch cut off wheel and a 110 wire feeder. Everything else is supplied in the kit, including the all important templates to insure that everything is cut correctly as long as you follow the two part instruction videos it goes quite smoothly. Best of luck to all that do this upgrade!
