In August 2023 I spent a wonderful week hiking and painting in the seldom-visited Schell Creek range in Nevada. I climbed North Schell Peak, enjoyed solitude, and painted plein air. The range has an abundance of wildflowers, butterflies, and beautiful mountain streams.

I visited the beautiful and remote Ibex Sand Dunes during a trip to Death Valley National Park. I hiked to the top of the dunes & traversed across to the highest point. The sand verbena was in full bloom, adding a wonderful scent to the air.

I loved this area! So much solitude.
If it doesn't get any hotter than this, this summer in vegas, we should be just fine.
It was 43 when we got up there last weekend. Yesterday, it was 63. The heat is coming fast & early…
I should reference this video when people ask me why it takes so long to get to rainbow via oak creek.
Ha! There was always a way, but it was very time consuming to find it!
