Yeah mate, the engine and gearbox specs are same. Scania DC9 280HP Euro5/EEV engine and ZF Ecomat 6HP604C-N (6 speed automatic.) I'm a bus driver myself, so I drive a lot Scania's with Lahti Scala bodywork that has ZF Ecomat (newer and latest ones has ZF Ecolife). They are best buses imo.

The gearbox is either ZF6HP504C-N or ZF6HP604C-N at least in our Scalas in Helsinki.
This one has 6HP604C-N.

What do you mean by kickdown? In my book, kickdown refer to the downshifting action when the accelerator is fully depressed while the vehicle is already cruising.
It's exactly that only that the vehicle doesn't have to be in motion
@@maaax1173 I see. So for you “kickdown” simply means flooring it? And may I ask which engine this bus has, if you know? I’m impressed to see this shift pattern on a DIWA. Ours upshift into 4th at 45km/h at low load and 58km/h at high load. Our engines never exceed 2000rpm during acceleration, only during deceleration. Cummins ISL8.9 EPA ‘07-10-13. Buses in question are NovaBus LFS & LFSa
@@AllieGee95 There's a switch at the end of the gas pedal, the kickdown switch, if you press it down even harder that switch will be activated and the transmission will try to achieve the best acceleration possible. That's what I refer to as a kickdown. That feature can be deactivated though, and some companies do it to safe fuel. I don't know the engine, but it seems to be a little bit odd with max rpm at over 3000. As for Cummins Engines, I have absolutely no idea about them
Yeah I’m aware of that feature. Back in the days, the “kickdown” was a valve on the transmission that actuated by the movement the throttle valve/body (on gasoline engines at least). North America wasn’t big in diesels in cars. And most diesel trucks had manual transmissions. I’ve had 3 vehicles that had this feature, all were European and all were “Ford era”. 2 Volvos and one Range Rover L322. As for our Cummins, the ISL8.9 is limited to 2300RPM powered and 2400 during turbo-braking (exhaust brake… not be be confused with Jake Brake. Our engines don’t have that. Too loud.) In my experience the D854.5 will shift at 1500rpm at low load and 1800rpm for high loads. And on the specs that I read, the transmissions max input speed was 2600rpm. It seems to me that our buses are programmed to reduce acceleration as much as possible. Which is a shame, we can’t keep up with our schedules with Voith-equipped buses. Especially the articulated ones. Bus #1201 is awful. It took me 4.2KM to accelerate to 90km/h with the first 100m being a downwards highway on-ramp. That’s some sad performance 😂 Thankfully the hybrids (BAE Systems Inc HDS200/300) are not lacking in torque!
Oh and there’s no detent at the end of our accelerator pedals.
