Leadbelly, who introduced this song to the world, always sang "I'll get you in my dreams." The Weavers, who had a #1 pop hit with the song in1950 (the year after Leadbelly's death) changed it to "I'll see you in my dreams."

The fun thing about this song is that the most well known version basically killed that band's career. Clean Living was a serious folk/country rock band and never intended for that to be released as a single, yet the label had other plans

I've listened to this performance probably every holiday season since discovering it. There is a comfy, if not beautifully Bavarian aura that has me possibly preferring this version to the original.

More like the Chardon Clowns 🤡 sorry but to some of us die hard polka fans feel you make a mockery of polkas...nonetheless you are talented at the instruments. I'd consider you country or Cajun. You guys are the reason people make fun of polkas. I bet you don't even know Hammer Hanks Polka or Puka Jasiu. No Polish, Slovak, Slovenian, or Croation songs. Sad but hey at least you guys have the jajas to go up & make fools out of yourselves. 😅
