Harris was absolutely incredible. My only thought is he resembled Jason Vorhees in his posture & that wild neck muscle that's just near the ears. It's nice to see very wealthy actors take work on art house type projects.
Hey I do like the cars in the movie.
Steve coogan is a brilliant actor
0:12 He said it, he said the thing 🤯
So the BBC still make money from him? Messed up but genius business... This company knows no Shame
I thought the movie was terrific. Baghdad won at the end.
buddy wayyy off😅
The best Godzilla film ever.
Fantastic story, so much better than anything today.
I adore this film, I got the whole Tsukamoto box set and it’s absolute magic
Real Doctor Who, not like the faux rubbish we get today. Spearhead is in the top five stories ever.
At least they got the dragon right. Four legs and two wings. It was not demoted to a wyvern, two legs and two wings, as film and tv makers continually do.
Steve Coogan is an utterly brilliant actor. One of the best ever.
i watched this when it dropped and honestly it gave me a sick sinking feeling as I kept remembering, this happened, it honestly nailed everything and I think that it handled this well.
And King Charles , or has everyone just forgotten?
So pretty much no happy ending
The movie is dirty, sickening and horrible. Really no fun whatsoever in terms of a "feel good story". But it is really damn entertaining and well made, I will give it credit for that. But yea, it kind of pisses me off how the protagonist family basically didn't fight back whatsoever. Like, damn.. --- spoiler --- You saw the dead kid, you saw the photos, you saw the luggage cases.. At that point you *know* for sure that your family and you are in grave f*ckin danger. At that point you throw everything you got at them, because it literally doesn't matter anyways what happens next. I know it's easy to say "oh if it was ME in in that particular situation..." but yep. Kind of bothered me a bit, HOW little they fought for their very lives.
What about the aces? The unbeatable of every suit. The alpha
I remember seeing this in like 2000 , the person cutting them self up part on some website. I legit thought it was real this entire time and every few years I would think about it vividly and go wtf was that I watched. Thank you for giving me some peace lol.
I looked at the end different than either movie version. Paul was alone. Paul was just reflecting on his solitude and that his friends are all gone. He knows the front. He knows the dangers. It ends with "I stand up". Then more reflection. Paul ended his own war. Read chapter 12 and tell me different.
The 30s version tried to capture the visual aspect. The 79 version tried to capture the narrative aspect. If you could mesh them you will have a good display of the book. I read the book in 1978. Saw the Halmark movie and bought the book in 1979. Nothing. Nothing beats the book. It is moving.
Not just the best submarine movie ever, but maybe the best war movie ever.
I believe that the entire place was inhabited by humans, but no one could detect one another.
I remember copping Haxan on Criterion DVD many years ago. Glad to see more youtube videos on it. I loved it.
Rewatching Series 5 made me really like Thinking Out Loud. Idk why but the music was very moving and all the characters (other than Pemberton cause yeah the performance was meh) were great.
Stalingrad is a ride from start to finish with things just getting worse with nothing glorious. Its a very good war movie with its unique flavour, by the end i was completely miserable.
Covid this, Covid that. Although it effected a large part of the world population. The fatality rate was less then 5%. Yes it was bad and people panicked. And my sister knew some one who died from it. But they had lung problems already. It seems that the more I dig into this, the more I find that the people most at risk, had some kind of health problem, dealing with lungs or heart. I had it, took three weeks to get over it. But, in the end for me at least, it was not life threatening. As far as survivors of a Nuclear bomb, there aren't any, just those unfortunate to live through it, only to die slowly from radiation sickness, drinking bad water, starving to death, or killed by others. And Threads really hit home with that.
Unlike the American movie "The Day After", "Threads" really hits home because it covers more then just the day after the attack. It shows how people suffered, with trying to find food and clean water and medical care. It really is nightmare fuel, specially in these "Interesting" times. If it ever happens, I hope I go quick, and don't "Survive", and die a slow lingering death.
I watched this movie now and I realy liked it. Say anything this is my favorite anime movie.(although I dont watch anime movies much)
Love this short film, i consider it canon to the real Shrek universe
Movie is still a masterpiece about the horrors of colonialism. Unfortunately, the production also used the horrors of colonialism to create their film. They're Italian filmmakers, what do you expect? Also, why did this video take a weird turn into the "CGI bad" rhetoric. I'm so sick of hearing about it. Using CGI isn't a value judgement. Literally everything has CGI now, it's just invisible. The whole "this director rejected CGI in favor of practical effects" spiel is not only tiresome, it's usually a lie too.
Next time you hear someone say "Karma will always catch up to people" remind them of Saville.
This film is exploitation and never should have been made.
If there's one show I would recommend that's for little kids it would be Wow! Wow! Wubbzy. Trust me kids would be WAY better off watching that than this. Plus that show really deserves more recognition too. It is such cute show.
5:44 called voodoo, if you were in their shoes it would be natural
Oliver wore a puck outfit for his birthday but deep inside, he was Wendigo. Wendigo is a demon who possesses human beings in North American mythology. Like Wendigo, Oliver consumes them in order to become them. Oliver has been shapeshifting until other things to manipulate different people but he wants to find the souls to be swallowed, so he can receive his true form. The Cattons are both the human hosts and the shiny things to be trapped by him as a vessel. He found them. The Cattons represent the four evangelists. The four evangelists converged into a heavenly angel Seraph, just like the family who worked together as one. 1. James is a human being, he’ll learn to maintain his emotions but he’s the one who secured the reputation and the financial stability. 👨🏻 2. Elspeth is an Ox or a cow, she’s the nurturing of the family as usual. 🐂 3. Venetia is a lion or a lioness, she was being proud for glamour and inner beauty, especially her long blonde hair as a lion’s mane. 🦁 4. James is an eagle because he has the golden angel wings. 🦅 When Oliver was rejected and isolated by the Cattons, he killed Elspeth, Venetia, and Felix with hatred and rage for a human and blood sacrifice while he was waiting for James to die. After this, he collected and then ate the spirits of James, Elspeth, Venetia, and Felix known to be a vital force. Once the sacrifice is complete and the house is now his, Oliver Quick was whole for the first time in history. He transformed and became a new abominable being. Wendigo and Seraph are finally one.
I love this movie so much
I thought Hill House was going to be my thing but I didnt love it or hate it. Midnight Mass was just alright. Didnt watch anything else and I dont think Im going to bother with this. Or should I? I wanted to like Hill House more and that is his best work by my own gathering of opinions. I love Horror, but for example thought Hereditary was pretty boring. I had to leave the theatre for laughing at one point and return 10 mins later. Not trying to sound edgy or whatever but, I dont know if Flanagan's other series' are going to be any good. Blythe Manor has the girl from 'You' season 3 in it and I find her annoying idkw so probably wont bother there. Nobodys gonna read this far. If you do, cheers.
This film had a huge impact on me when I watched it at 15 years old when it was first aired. I can remember certain scenes like it was yesterday
Born in 1965. Society benefits from lying about its role in this. No-one wants to admit there was a widespread belief that the age of consent was merely a guideline, and that puberty often meant being "psychologically ready" for sex. In reality these children didn't suffer because Savile's crimes were hidden, but because they were ignored.
Dumbdumbs laugh at what they dont understand. Also, when yous say no, theres no FUCKING " Rs" in the word no. Its not NORRR, its no..blaaaaa
I was first introduced to this film in about 2006 through my brother who watched it one night and couldn’t praise it enough, so I sat and watched it soon after and it immediately became a firm favourite of mine. On its surface it’s a bare bones revenge film, but what it also is is a tale of brotherly love, but it’s not a love that’s realised until it’s too late, and that makes this movie all the more tragic. Anthony was the bane of Richard’s life when they were growing up, hence why he left to join the army to get away from it all. But what breaks my heart is Richard’s realisation that he left his already vulnerable younger brother in a more vulnerable state - easy pickings for the likes of Sonny and the others, and that guilt must be a heavy burden to carry. From a personal perspective, this film clicks with me and my brother because we both grew up in a similar town in Derbyshire (not too far from Matlock really) and we both had our fair share of challenges with bullying and teasing etc. It’s raw, gritty, impactful and in a bizarre way, it’s beautiful.
5:29 Hilda reminds me of the farmer's wife from the Day After, still kept up with housework and didn't wanted to be bothered by war stuff until their respective husbands had to forcefully drag them to safety.
That’s why I stop watching pingu because of a walrus episode
