This is the original version with the full solo from Jimmy page. All the other versions of this song for some reason chop the solo out. This is the best version of this song. Amazing solo by Page.

As that saying goes..."they truly were lightning in a bottle", all 4 needed to be there to capture that, they came together at the right time, you take away anyone, they still would have been great, just not the lightning thing.

When i was 18 and just beginning to know them, i always thought this was the most boring song from concert. 40 years later, without a doubt this is the best song they ever created. At least live. No other band can match this!!

Yeah cool, this is the 1976 release we had on album...Remember how the album smelled from all the black ink? LOL, I got it brand new back when I was 11. Anyhoo yeah this mix is best for the entire LP. Jim's remixes are sh** in my opinion. Adds too much bass and effects and cuts parts out.... Thanks for posting this.

Whoever said this is the greatest band to ever stand on the stage was not lying. Nothing has ever even come close to what Led Zeppelin did. Led Zeppelin at its worst was head and shoulders above everything else around them. Jimmy played a very brilliant part in this song, but the composition belongs to John Paul Jones. The song was recorded in D minor and showcases John Paul Jones’s classical roots…nothing can or ever will come close to this band again….. John Paul Jones was the icing on top of the Led Zeppelin cake. His multi instrumental abilities put that band above everything around them. What would going to California be without the mandolin? What would no quarter be without the incredible keyboard playing? What wood in through the outdoor be with without Jones on the synthesizer? What would the rain song be without Jones on the mellotron? To this day, everything else runs second place to Led Zeppelin.

I started a new job in January and it requires some driving. I ordered 2 cds. The soundtrack to The Song Remains The Same, and Live one more from the road by Lynrd skynrd. It's really frustrating that this solo isn't on the cd,as well as some abbreviations in Dazed And Confused. This level of talent will never be replicated,absolute perfection

1977 was my 1st concert at Cincinnati coliseum it was Led Zeppelin wow seen many concerts since then Stones Pink Floyd many others but none compare to Zeppelin

I wish Jimmy would have left all the first generation versions on the reissue of TSRTS, and then just added the other songs. I'm so glad I still have my copy of this first generation album/CD.
