Hi, Great review, how far away is your tee from the net I've just bought a net and Garmin recommend 8 feet then 7 feet t unit, but that's a bit far with my golf;). How far away is yours because it doesn't look like 8 feet from the net? thx

Definitely want to try this net out. It is quite a but more than the Spornia in terms of cost. I do not know if I could justify it. nice video!

Hi great video, I’m looking at this and the Spornia SPG8. I’ve only been playing a few months trying to develop my swing and maintain consistency. I’m just worried I will shank shots into my neighbours property. Will be outside in Australian Queensland sun. Also which launch monitor do you recommend? Thank you

I was searching Kareela Golf Club and found your video, very helpful, as my daughter is going to play in a Junior tournament next week. Looks like a short course but very narrow, has to be very accurate direction-wise.

Did you ever try any of the 200 or 300 series from this company? The forged set certainly has an even better field than the 101s cool video like the overlays

Whats the name of that net u using in the garden?

Can you just swing driver infront of it without a ball to track club head speed?

I switched from Ping to Takomo 101. Love em so far. I only wish they had a gap wedge that matched the set like Ping and Cleveland and others. I went with a 48 degree Takomo Skyforger but I still prefer the gap or approach wedge to be part of the set and same lines. Great video. Kee p the reviews coming.

Nice video, Jon, and what a pretty course! I break 80 occasionally, but usually am about 85. I don't think my problem is strategy, but that a few times per round I mix in some horrible hits. I need to get rid of those random worm burner or pull hook or banana slices mixed in with perfect drives. I need to lose my shanked or bladed chips. It is frustrating to be playing well, then hit something truly awful. My new plan is "no thinking!" Once I plan my shot and take my stance, I need to just relax and let the swing happen. If I get a good start to a round, I usually finish strongly, so I need more good starts. BTW, I'm loving my V5.

Great production. Obviously aimed at golfers under 12 handicap who can hit a driver well. For the rest of us,being aggressive off the tee is golfing suicide. Maybe a break 90 video and keep it in play/course management/ avoid trouble type of video. 95% of golfers get nowhere near 80!!

Sure, these are all sound advice. But I have also had single figure (about 4-5 hcp) for about 20+ years. Back then I could break 80 in my sleep! I would say if you did not learn those four rules you will never reach 5 hcp. But they mean nothing if you cannot execute on your plans. Today, I am struggling to get back to those levels of play after having about about 15 years of significantly less playing. I still know the rules, still strike the ball well, still know the tactics of the game but the consistency in my game is not there. I will will make par with no drama on many holes, but then a few times per round comes a catastrophic shot out of the blue (often adding a penalty) and it easy results in a double or triple bogey. So, unless you have the basic skills and can practice at least once a week you will never stand a chance to break 80!

Good stuff! I'm hovering around 11 or 12 hcp. Can't seem to break 80 consistently enough though. Love watching others play and see what I can learn

Off the tee is my problem tho!! I hit 9 GIR in my tournament this weekend. NINE! Still shot 88. OB and 4 three putts killed me (13 hcp)

Stumbled upon this review while looking to make a backyard setup. This is my second season golfing since my friends got me into it and for what I'm trying to do (just get a general idea of where the shot went and consistency) the value that the Garmin provides is amazing if you arent dialing down into metrics too deep like you said. Awesome review!

Good video, but I’d add know your dispersion. I’ve taken a few strokes off my scores simply by aiming about 5 yards right of my target with irons since my miss is a 10 yard overdraw. I also think assessing/learning the lie is super important. I’m a plus handicap on my simulator, but I’d guess that most of the difference in my actual handicap (about 12-13) is difficulty in real life lies.

Hey Jon! How come you used the p-avg for the 5 hc but not for scratch? The p-avg for scratch is quite a bit different to the avg so throws that last chart out a bit.

Those average HC figures look very suspect. The distance between a 5 and 10 Hc driving distance is 2 yards...? I'm not convinced a 15Hc has a playing average of 236yds, and almost certain a 10Hc wouldn't be averaging 259 yds. I use Shotscope and find it very useful but I've always been suspicious of their analytics, there are just too many variables to take into account and simply averaging out all the 'data' and taking their results on face value...not sure.

Any issues with connectivity? The internet is completely filled up with people complaining that the connectivity constantly happens.
