What is the spot welder gun used in this video? We're looking at installing some strain gauge like this.
Hello David: a Model 700 Portable Strain Gage Welder/Soldering Unit was used in this video. However, it has been replaced by the Model 4100-WLD Stinger spot welder, which we currently recommend. Very interesting, weldable strain gages have come a long way. I use to be a Static and Dynamic testing technician back in the 80's and 90's. I must have bonded and welded 100, 000 gages over a 11 yr period. My boss and owner of the company Sandy Friezner came up with the weldable strain gage in the 1950's while working for FLW.
