Panzoom are Gerry Croxson and Gary Reid. Hailing from sunny Buckinghamshire in England, Panzoom have been producing very small films since 1988. Some have been seen on Satellite TV and others on small sketch shows on regular TV. Many are too adult in language to feature on CZcams, because they are made for an older audience (not because it's clever to swear !).

Full of you know what's now like most places in the UK
Did The Octagon exist at this point?
Great to see this footage. I left Wycombe in 1992 aged 19. Lots of people here saying it's gone downhill - to be honest, back then everyone said the same, it was always considered a bit of a troubled town. But it had character. I remember all the pubs (Angel and Antelope were most popular, the Flint Cottage for gigs). The chocolate factory pumping cocoa fumes, The old gas tank rising and falling outside Loakes Park. Scorpion Records. The arcade on Bridge Street. The funny Chinese guy on Desborough Road with his amazing spring rolls. Club X with the naked raver. Good times.
All gone now I’m afraid
Yep. Wycombe boy from 1968 for 20 years. Fabulous video. Thankyou for the foresight in doing and then posting. X
Uk was better back then, its lost its way now
Great to see Woolies and Fads again. Thanks for this video. I was 14 then.
As a former ‘native’ of the town I found this video fascinating.
Frogmore has changed so much it used to be clean and peaceful with not much activity. Now its dirty with potholes and full of crackheads and terrible drivers. Literally hell
I used to go to Club X I remember this mad bloke there called Kim.
Wow what a memory trip. I was born in High Wycombe. 1st house I was born into was on London Road, opposite the water mill & the Rye, they knocked down those houses and tuned it into a carpark. But do remember my mum taking me over the road to go on the slides and swings in the late 70's early 80's. My dad worked at Ercols and I remember him walking to work everyday. Remember woolworths and mum using Woolwich Bank. Hamilton school was where I and sadly my recent late brother attended. I remember W G Hoar was where my late brothers 1st bike was brought from for his Christmas present, maybe even my mountain bike was too? Loved visiting blockbusters where the magnet centre is shown. Feathers got my interest as a kid😂😂😆 Secondhand City was massive but remember the old fishing shop that use to be next door to that shop. Who remembers under the cheese pot where they had a sweet market on sat mornings but also the rank smell of cheese wafting in the air nearby! 😂 Well there you go, fond memories...
God I loved the 90's, retail bliss! Used to love doing the Saturday shop in Wycombe, pick and mix at Woolworth's, pop across the road to check out all the tech in Dixons!, crazy how much has changed in just 30 years, kinda boring having everything so accessible today by just a click of a mouse.
Assuming High Wycombe wasn’t overrun with rats then as it was a week ago when I was there.
August 2022 now … I remember working in Desborough Road in the printers back in 1992 Wycombe was ok then.
Nick g? Pembroke secondary, dehrams ave? I dropped in to see you at the printers i was back from france- that was old school printing in there. Im sure thats you!
Hi my name is Karen Racher attended this school and Carrington , memories , 😊 thanks
The Good Old Days the Early 90s were a Magic times.. I trade now for then in a heart beat. Saddly this is as close as i can get... For Now. Nice upload.
Now look at the place, right shithole
Looks very much like Slough
I can't see Blockbusters ?
30 minutes and 53 seconds. Only, it was part of Magnet's then.
Huge thanks for this. I was 22 when this was filmed and remember hanging out in bridge street car park at night will all my friends and their cars. I now live in another country and its so nice to look back at what I did and where I roamed. Thanks again.
Did you used to do handbrake turns and then eat a kebab from 1 of the kebab vans?
@@nadimyasin6668 Of course.
2 years out of the local college, lived in around their for the next 18 years. My formative years, funny looking back, I visited about 5 years ago the whole town center has changed. I live abroad now and am still in touch with a handful of friends from back then.
Tuesdays Disco!
is this frogmoor?
Well part of it is frogmoor
@@ethapnerry5740 ok
so this is what it looked like in 1992
Was there as a student in the early 90s. Funny how much I have forgotten, but suddenly I’d spot certain shops or areas and it would all come flooding back.
Aman here, 12/03/21
Hi
Old school I love it brings back old memories 👍🏻
Looks much cleaner then. Gone down hill since then.
Pray for high Wycombe Buckinghamshire England UK in 2021 now
wow i may have only finished my degree this year thus knowing nothing of wycombe really before going to uni in 2017 but damn its so weird looking at what has and hasnt changed in the last 28 years as of writing. To think eden would not be built for another 16 years and the building i did my degree in would not be built for 17 but out of curiousity was the big sainsburys built back then as one of the shots looks like where the sainsbury's should be and bought the right hight for the building roof too or was there something there before? The reason i ask is cos the sainsburys looks really damn modern only looking 15 years old at best
No. The big Sainsbury’s was built a lot later on the plot where you see hoare and sons and scorpion records opposite the flat car park shown here
About 30mins in. Where you see Magnet aswell. That’s where the current Sainsbury’s is.
That playground at Priory Road School 11:12 brings back some memories!
i was at that school at the time this was shot, great memories at Hamilton primary!
Yeah, I was at the primary from 1976 - 1984@@ryw21
Very peaceful, not overcrowded with people.. used to be a nice town
Left Wycombe for a new life during primary school at Loudwater. Strange to think I would have gone here if we had stayed lol. Would have been about 1989 or 90
Did anyone else in Wycombe have that chap come round with his van renting out Vhs videos to people? He would always get films for us every week lol.
Oh my God! We had a similar bloke all the way up in Bradford doing the exact same thing 😁
Yes
It was a beautiful town, a lot of places to go and see. Lovely locals but unfortunately it has become a drug ridden very small city type lifestyle. Police too busy doing nothing and a council too busy lining their pockets with over development grants being given to anyone and everyone. Ruined it.
Sounds just like here in Bradford. A great city destroyed by one of the worst councils in the country.
looks like the olden daya, same time seems like yesturday i was only 8 years of age , time certainly does fly
Like many commentators, I spent three years as a student in Wycombe in the early 90s. So nice to see a contemporary video. Many thanks.
The "One hour photos" shop! Dates this a little. Funny how thing change.
John Jones from abergaven. Erstwhile drinking buddy. Used to get drunk and pretent to have a knife. Harmless guy really. 1993/94.
I grew up in wycombe it gave me a real appreciation of not being there
Think the opening shot shows West Wycombe Ball. I lived in the town , Desborough Road, then up to Spearing Road. We left High Wycombe about 1966 . I attended Green Street Primary School, then Mill End Secondary school for boys. Wycombe Wanderers then played at Loakes Park, names like Len Worley ,Tony Horseman spring to mind, Don Walsh was the manager. I can remember the boating lake I think in the park called the Rye. Outdoor swimming pool, is it still there?,Sunday afternoons it was full of West Indians playing cricket. Think I can vaguely remember the WHO performing at the White Swan when they were on the way up.
It's called the Wycombe Swan theatre now and still does alot of popular shows etc. The outdoor swimming pool is still there and is now called the rye lido. The river rye does still have some old rusty boats floating at one end but I have never seen anyone in one. Lovely town
So many memories and I didn’t want it to end
I was 19yrs old and living in Wycombe at that time, fucking shithole but it was *my* fucking shithole. Awesome video, ty
better than slough atleast
now look at it
Kinda sad
Same could be said for any city or town in England, especially up North. Things were always better in the 80s and early 90s.
Anyone else watch old footage like this and think to themselves. Somewhere out there is me. I'm 19 years old, car mad, clueless about the world. What was I doing on that day? - what would I, as I exist today, like to say to myself? (quite a lot, actually...). Out there are my grandparents, dead now, but probably watching the TV or shopping at the time.. Out there is the woman who - 15 years later - was going to be my partner in life. Out there somewhere is the world trade centre - and it has no idea what is going to happen to it. It looks like a nice day. I wonder what I had for dinner that night.
Takes me way back mate
A great film its good to see the old town. How it has changed in 2019. I miss Woolworths pick a mix. Thanks for sharing⭐👍
Pick a mix were win, and the toy area of the store was win, my mum would buy me bionicles, for 5/6pounds games and lego toys from there too.
Ugly town ... no english people here
Grahame Stroud 😂😂
Well graham, it much as changed since you went to great Marlow school has it? Still a racist as they come. You and your wife Alison moved to Maidenhead because you were called out for it so you’ve can to the internet ..... grow up because the same 12 pack of Stella you buy every night is from a minority in Maidenhead to you racist pig
The place has changed much in the 20 years we have lived in HW. Even more so since 1992. Therefore, it would be great if you could add some labels with a brief description of location. E.g. Frogmoor, View from top of Eastern Carpark, etc. That would help us identify where the footage is from. Thanks for the video, just the same.
Come on you chair boys!
Ty very much for bringing back beautiful memories "10:57 f h w" I use to work there while I was at school in my 4/5 years at brenchwood. Thanks again my beautiful high Wycombe what it use to be like.
I attended Pembroke Secondary school from 1978 to 1982. Prior to that I went to Carrington infant and middle school in Flackwell Heath. Would love to connect with anyone who attended these schools in that time period. Thanks for the memories...
I think there are groups on Facebook !
@@user-he2uf6tf3y My maiden name is Cox. . I was known as Diane Cox back then. My older sister who also attended the same school was Susan Cox.. May I ask your name.? .Would love it if there was a reunion..!
Thanks for this video! I came to Wycombe as an 18 year old student in 1992 so this would have been my first impression of the town (still living here today having married a local girl)
Poor bastard
😮😮😮😮😮
It looks so clean and nice
