Save $60 a month Hack for Pet Safe Scoopfree Crystal Litter Box Reusable Trays
zhlédnutí 6KPřed 2 lety
Please watch the other video I made that goes more into depth for this hack. I have started cutting the hole back a little further as I noticed it seems to hold up better this way. Went from spending $80 a month to $20 a month. While there is an initial investment, I found the time it saves to be worth it and who can beat a practically smell-free litter box? Please use the links below and pay i...
Restore your Windscreen / Windshield

I restored the cloudy windscreen (aka windshield) on my 2013 Bergman 400 AF without any experience and it looks like new! It's very easy with the 3M Headlight Restoration Kit, which attaches to your drill and allows you to sand away the scratches and buff it to a shine. Please use these links below to pay it forward for the time it took to create and share this video. Thank you! 3M Headlight Re...
Save $$$ - EASIEST Pet Safe Self Cleaning Crystal Litter Box Hack & Modification - clean 1 x a month

Save $$$ PetSafe Self Cleaning Litter Box Hack - Using Reusable & Disposable Trays, Screen & Box Cutter. Before the hack, I spent approx $80 a MONTH on the disposable trays and had to change the trays out weekly. After the hack, I replace the tray monthly and it only costs approximately $20. While there is an initial investment in the disposable tray, I found the time it saves to be worth it. I...
Well this is a great idea. I had tried to do something similar but it was a mess to disassemble and reassemble. How often to do you have to change out the top and the bottom ? Since I like to buy the 30 lb bag of crystals, I would probably use to reusable trays. I already have one with one of the cutouts. Just need make the other cut. I used a plastic needle point sheet for a screen but maybe metal would be better. Is that a screen that is used on windows or is it different?
Or Get a reusable tray. This is crazy
She has a reusable tray. She is placing the disposable tray on top of it for the pee and poop to fall down onto the trash bag lining the reusable tray.
Stop with the valley talk the up and down peeks distracts from what your trying to deliver. Its like your singing
I’m confused how this saves $$$? If you are still buying the disposable trays every month to do this
It’s meant to make the litter last longer I believe
Does the hood secure down?
Where does the a c plug go in to the outside?
You say you don't want the litter to get saturated, but that why it's there for, it absorb the liquid and reduce the smell. Now your gonna have wet poop and pee falling below into other container, that's gonna be discusting. I don't get it, just let the litter absorb all that nasty stuff like it's supposed to...
Now this is the definition of hack.
Okay queen! I just used spray on rubber sealant
What did you use the rubber sealant on? So intrigued!
It might be a great video, if I could only see it. Something is wrong with the screen, it's too small, I don't know how to fix.
What are you using for a screen and where did you buy it? I'm having a hard time finding something fairly sturdy locally. Also do you find that a lot of litter falls into the poop dumping end? I'm thinking of getting something to add a little 1/4 inch bump there to prevent dumping a lot of litter. I would've simply cut my cardboard end a little shorter but I already tossed that out.
I went to Ace Hardware and had a piece of wire screen cut to size :)
Hey hey, great idea!! just wondering why can't be used clumping sand so instead of having his/hers pee on the bottom, all go to the same place as a big lump of poo?
The crystal litter neutralizes the odor and is non-toxic, plus it's made specifically for this litter box. I imagine the clay sand would get stuck on the forks when the auto-cleaning mechanism rakes the poo, but if you try it please let me know if that works for you!
Clumping litter doesn't work with this litter box. You need to use crystal litter.
Great idea and I like the puppy pad idea added too.
Why would you wanna do extra work for a self cleaning litter box you paid so much money for 😭😭 just get rid of it and get a normal litter box lmfaoo doing double the work is not that efficient and you lose the purpose on what the crystal litter should be helping you with!!
If its ok can I add an idea??? 💡: in the reusable try on top of the bag use a puppy pee pad or the cat pee pads for other litter boxes.( can find a pk of 20 for $14 on Amazon) to catch the urine an helps eliminate odor also. BTW great idea 💡 👍
Those amazon pee pads are AMAZING and very absorbent. I use them with the Breeze litter box and sometimes to catch leaks around the house lol
The purpose of silica crystals is to absorb moisture and odor (i.e. urine) and to dehydrate the feces for dumping. I appreciate the creativity in trying to make the crystals last longer, however the "hack" completely undermines the purpose of the crystals, again they absorb like little sponges that also neutralize the odor and then get dumped once they've reach capacity and changed color. Shopping for a crystal with a higher absorption capacity would be more effective and lower the risk of spilling a urine filled garbage bag. If you're this far just to preserve litter you should probably invest in a flushing/plumbing auto litter box or toilet training system for your cat.
Thanks for appreciating my creativity, this really worked for me despite the logic! Will keep your suggestion in mind in future.
I've had my scoopfree litter box almost a year...I love it except for the issues with the urine. I cant stand that smell. I have been searching for better crystal litter and have tried many many different kinds..always same results. So if you know of a brand let me know. Im definitely going to try this hack!
Also flushing litter is NOT a good idea. Even though it says its flushable, talking from experience dont try it. Unless eventually you want to spend $5k+ for a new septic tank system.
@@ga_peaches_826 I do agree that no litter is properly flushable, not to mention the microbial hazard cat feces presents makes toilet training a risk as well; I've done some research in the time this was posted and came to the same conclusion, trash not flush. I still prefer not to use this hack because even on the selling page of this product states for one cat the litter tray should last about 30 days... and you're still changing the litter/bag and throwing it away after a month, whether or not you have a bag full of smelly pee. So, it doesn't effectively make it last any longer.
I watched ur video several times and still don’t understand the concept of this set up .I’m confused
I made another video and posted it on my channel, hopefully that will help. The concept is to create a reservoir underneath that the urine can drain into, thus extending the life of the litter bc the crystals don’t get soaked.
@@Indigoandy1111 ok thanx it makes more sense now. I see clearly how it works now. Great hack 👍

Gonna try this out!! I was seeing mixed reviews for the reusable tray but you made the best hack invention! Up to 50 compared to 30?! I love this idea!
Thank you for this hack ! Life changing !

Hi, what are the dimensions of the screen ? Although I see that you are using a permanent tray (covered in plastic bag), I see that you are using a DISPOSABLE litter tray on top, so does this system require continually using a new disposable cardboard litter tray ? Thanks for the excellent video!
The screen is wire. I folded it to fit and it is probably 10”x10” or so. I will measure next time I change it. This set up does require the disposable little box each time, in addition to the reusable tray. It allows urine to go through hole and screen so reusable box doesn’t get saturated so quickly. This extends the life to about 50 uses, so you don’t have to change entire box so often. I’ve taken to using my dremel with a saw attachment to cut the hole in order to expedite the process.
Where did you get the screen so the litter doesn’t fall through it? I want to figure a way to use two reusable try’s so I am not buying disposable trays. Or some kind of reusable second unit that fits.
