I almost always cut the width of my boards vertically in one pass with no troubles. Ive had my 8” machine for roughly 30 years now. The only time i take them horizontally is at the very beginning or end of the log to get the most possible out of the log.

Your tutorial is very pretty good but if you can upgrade your camera quality can really help us see clear.

Hey. Can you please offer troubleshooting advise for a 8" 30hp backfiring. Mill backfiring on load. Please help?

All the years I’ve been running 25-27hp Kohlers and Briggs putting up with backfiring coming down to idle, I never thought to shut them off at WOT. tnx for the tip

Why did you cut 50 vertical and 300 horizontal? Why not 300 vertical and 50 horizontal?
