Peter Jurasik's performance in this scene (and most others he was in) is so good. I think he is the most underrated and under appreciated actor in all of sci-fi. He summons such genuine emotion that I feel I want to cry for a planet and people that does not exist.That's acting talent.

Two movies struck a cord with me, this one and platoon. (The book is really good) Years ago when I wasnt as grey I went through Iraq/middle east etc later to SA and the coast and recently (last year) returned from volunteer work in Ukraine. What strikes me with these films is the human element. The story of the guy, the grunt and not covering the narratives in glitter and gold braid. War is an ugly thing and its nothing to be wanted. I come from a long line of serving men its a family tradition, and those who I grew up with said the same thing about war. My Dad had a whole host of memories, silly and happy ones that hed talk of but he didnt really talk about the actual job of war. "One day, youll get why". These stories are important.
