Nothing but real life here! I have a B.S. in Outdoor Recreation Management from the University of Idaho and love the Outdoors! Started hunting Big game with a Thompson Center .54 caliber renegade in 1986. Most people called me crazy, no one hunted black powder back then, and some refused to hunt with me. They called me lucky after I shot my first bull elk, but soon after I shot my third one, they had all bought muskets and called me Eagle Eye Baker.

Pierce, Idaho 1860 day's is a yearly event which happens the first weekend of August this was the 25th year. The ATV ride which took us on a 30 mile run through the Clearwater National Forest and some Potlatch Timber Lands is one event of many during this fun filled weekend.

Elk River is cool we took this ride to Elk Butte Lookout and checked out Big Cedar Grove all in one day trip out of Orofino Idaho summer 2020! It was a very very good day

Took about 8 hours to get to this point, kit was rough and it took over 8 hours of fun to get it all inlaid in! Very happy at this point still need to do butt stock work(figure 4 more hours) and sanding before thinking about staining(another 4 hours) but I am borderline perfectionist.

This lookout tower, Indian Hill, is located above Idaho's Selway River at 6820 feet of elevation. Very nice ride, beginner to intermediate in difficulty.

What a great video! I was through this area of Idaho in 1995 (as a 31 year old) and I am determined to get back there (from Ohio) with my son, who will graduate college next year. Have you had any leaks or had anything go wrong with things you did in this video? Some other vids say just use the paper gasket no gasket maker on top of the paper. And pipe thread tape the bolts. Im also from Orofino just put mine in tonight!
I used gasket seal on both sides of it as I recall but I sold that vehicle 5 years ago and got a Chevy 1500 Silverado better gas mileage with a more powerful engine. The Dakota didn't do big truck or small truck well for me.
I hear a t-50 torx is the way for that bolt

Idk if its necessary to remove anything on the radiator EXCEPT the fan shroud. Just enough to gain full access to the pump.
True but The more room to work with the better
It was about five years ago and my wife was fishing off the dock and without writing a book on why the baited line from my wife’s pole was left in the water, when she came back to it minutes later, the pole was broken and the line gone. No one did it as we were the only ones there. Makes you wonder what size fish did that.
It's a really nice lake. Usually go there at least once a year. Only go there if you want to catch trout as nothing else is planted there. The Tiger Trout were introduced to eat the golden shiners which apparently someone released unauthorized into the lake.
The tigers are growing fast I caught 1 19" long in 2020 which would have been the state record if recorded but it would have been broken as another registered one 21" two weeks later!

When you have it all tore apart replace the thermostate too! You will see it is hard to get too $10 dollar part! $500 to replace it in labor!

My dad has a 2001 dodge dakota sport 3.9 v6. He recently passed away so now I have it. The water pump took a shit on it back in June and I haven't had the money to buy the water pump and fix it since I've been having to pay the house bills because my mom's monthly disability check doesn't cover the bills. It barley pays the mortgage. Anyway. Your not lying when we were always having something to fix on the truck. It's needed upper and lower ball joints for over a year now. My dad did a lower ball joint on the passenger side like 4 years ago and it took him like 8 hours to do. So I'm avoiding replacing them until I absolutely have to. I did the driver side upper one and I did Ujoints and front brakes and rotors and finally replaced the passenger side caliper because I was tired of replacing pads every 6 months. I hate the truck but it was my dad's so it's more sentimental then anything i guess..
first the fan clutch went bad so i replaced it. then a short time later the water pump failed should have replaced both at the same time.

I drove it for over 12 years, took her from 95,000 to 150,00 served well but is a slug. Did not do Big truck well or small truck well, 16 miles per gallon. Turned into a rust bucket, may have spent time on the coast.

Secrete lures! NOT! Mostly soft plastics - Grubs in pumpkinseed, green, and purple. Good fishing - oh ya some sink-o ring worms

Water looks good the OK rock is visible but I have not fished in the new year. People are catching fish but it is not a red hot year. Have fun and enjoy Orofino!

WTF!!! I lived in Orofino for over ten years and guided that river. Never caught a bass except in lake. They got in river, that is awesome!!

Looks good, man. I may try something similar. These damn bar mounts for phones don't stand up to much abuse.

where on the clearwater river?
I live in Orofino and fish the whole river from Kooskia to Lewiston I believe we were fishing near Peck on that day one of my favorite float trips is from Pink House(about 1 mile from my front door) to Peck. Thanks Craig.

Just had to replace the gas tank straps. They ruined a trip to go trail bike riding off Idaho's Selway river. Had to chain gas tank to frame and limp home. 140 mile round trip for nothing. Take a look at your Gas tank straps mine rusted through.
